DEJECTION

Abria In the midst of the swooning winter, I fell in the deepest pit, maybe under a few feet, but the darkness around me was pitch black and there was no sight to be seen. No longer I held those grudges against some people because most of them are now a mere memory to me. Walking at the edge of a knife, I have risked it all to find all the answers of the questions which were imprinted in my mind for a long time. I wished that it was easy to find everything I want but no! We all have to make sacrifices and turn our backs to those who once helped us too. I may be a bad person to someone but I am worse for myself. Running and hiding, which has become a part of me. It doesn’t matter how much I run from my problems and hide, in the end, I have to face them. I can’t name how many people I lost in such a short time. First one is my father, i did not gave him any explanation because I was too scared to face him. After all, I am a monster which he didn’t raise. And she never wanted me to become like him. My friends, though I met them a few times, I made a connection with them. I couldn’t understand what was the thread which brought us together but I wished for more time to get along. My guardian uncle, who turned out to be a spy of a witch. And that witch was my father’s long lost friend. Everything is heavy, and cloudy. I can’t tangle all the knots tied so badly around me. There was not a single person I trusted, because the one I trusted, he left me too.. Brandon. And now, I am stuck in this huge castle made of snow. I don’t know what place this is and how the hell I got here but it wasn’t unfamiliar to me. The caretakers around me were cool and minding their business most of the time. I tried to eavesdrop on their conversation but that language was out of the world.  I don't understand Italian, Spanish, or Korean but I can't recognize a single word of what they say except a few. Upon my observation, I found out they were talking in gaelic but it wasn’t as similar as I read from the book I used to learn Gaelic. I started to gain some strength and felt better. Even though I was conscious, these nurses were following their Queen’s order. There was a commotion outside the hall which soon turned into utter silence, as soon as the huge door opened again. The doctor, I guess he is the doctor, approached me with a big smile on his face. I smiled slightly at him and he checked my vitals. He was going through some files and nodding his head in understatement. Then he turned to me and asked, “how do you feel now?” “I am fine…” I replied in a monotonous voice. His gaze was at me and I felt a bit awkward. It was difficult not to strangle him to death just for staring at me.  “I am sorry but do i look like a clown?” I asked with my teeth grinding. He backed off and asked me to cool down, “I am sorry to bother you, but I was just observing you.. That’s all, and don’t think of it another way. I am just following orders…” he chuckled and tried to cool down the temperature around us. “Orders? My foot… now that I am fine and my vitals are normal.. I can leave…” I fumed and threw the blanket away. “Wait!! Wait!! Wait!! You are not going anywhere… not until the queen meets you…” the doctor informed me and i was irritated to the core with all this attention. “Your queen said I can leave when I will recover… Now I am fine.. Just let me go…” I was glaring sharply at the doctor and turned to leave. All of a sudden, he grabbed my arm and tried to drag me back to the bed. This action infuriates me and I felt my inner b***h crawling back to the surface. This guy just made a big mistake. There is no one who can stop Abria now. “Take your hands off me or I will break them off…” It was my last warning to him but he won’t budge. He insisted on dragging me back and tucking in the bed but I was over it. Instead of jerking my hands off from his, I grabbed his arm from the free hands and pulled him closer with his back facing me. The force was too much and I heard him gasp. A wicked smile curled up to the corners of my lips as I pushed him forward and grabbed the vase resting next to the nightstand. I slammed the vase on his head and it shattered into pieces. The doctor screamed and soon his head started to bleed profusely. The nurses around us screamed and ran to help the doctor. However, these poor creatures have no idea who they have messed up. It's time to tell them who is the boss. I glared down at the floor and set it on fire. I did not spare the beds and the curtains, setting everything on fire. The doctors and other staff rushed to help and started to make snow out of their hands. I observed their unique quality curiously. They do have a talent to show but unfortunately, in front of my flames, their snow melted and vapourised.  The whole hall was on fire and I loved the way the chaos started to consume everything coming in its way. It gave my stomach some butterflies, until a huge frozen ball of power slammed on the floor and the flames burned out in seconds. The power was too enormous to my delight. I haven't thought someone would come out this stronger to fight me. The hall was damaged but it can be recovered. My face was covered with a frown as I turned to glance at the queen of these people. Her eyes were fixed on me as they were glued. But her eyes hold anger and rejection, sort of… "What is all this mess for?" She screamed at me.  Her sparkling grey obrs were staring at my soul and so did my inner b***h was ready to shred her in pieces but there was something which stopped in my tracks. "You said I can go when I recover… it's time for me to say goodbye and leave.." I was fuming and wanted to rush out before I regret doing something wrong. "You haven't recovered yet…" she stated. "Shut up… did I ask your opinion? I don't want to stay here.. I have a reason to move on and there is this place I have to explore, so let me go…" I yelled loudly and clearly so she would get that to her empty brain. I don't understand why this woman is persistent to make me stay here? "And this is the reason you destroyed the infirmary? How rebellious are you?" The queen looked pissed. "Yea, I am… so if you want to keep your place fine, then just let me go ." I said while looking right into her eyes. "What if I say no?" He narrowed her gaze at me. "You can't say no because you said earlier that I can leave. Now I have recovered and ready to leave, you are making baseless obstacles for me. Get out of my way.. I have plenty of things to do…" I jabbed at her. He narrowed her gaze and stayed silent. "You will not leave until we recover this place like before.. in case we were not able to do so, you will compensate somehow.." the queen said. "Why are you so persistent in keeping me here?" I gritted my teeth while she grinning aside. "Because you are my …… daughter… Abroad…"  Said the queen. Her words broke me down, apart.
