Abria
As I woke from the world of my imagination, it seemed to collapse in front of my eyes as I started to gain the conscious status of this cruel world’s reality. The appearances can deceive us but not the truth which can be seen through the naked eyes. No matter how many layers are covering it up, one day they all vanish and reveal the real face of the things we longed to see but are not ready to accept.
The ground seemed to slip under my feet when the woman in front of me claimed to be my mother. All these years, I wanted to know who my mother was and why she left me. Now when the answer of my existence is right in front of me, I wasn't ready to accept it. My hands trembled when she tried to approach so I did what was good for me. Running!! Because that was the only thing I did well. Apart from that, I need space to consume things. A Lot of things have happened to me in such a short time that my brain froze and it couldn’t handle such stress.
As far as i go, these problems will never let me live in peace. They will follow me like a shadow. No matter how hard I try, we are inseparable. But one thing was sure that there is something here which caught my attention. Those blue eyes which mesmerised me to the core.
I sat up straight from the hot flush and I rushed to the balcony to gasp for air. Wearing nothing but a silk gown, I was sweating profusely. My body gave up a lot then it could ever receive but there is no way i can stop. There are lots of things that need to be cleared and now I know how I have to find them. As i stepped back inside the room, i realised that i wasn’t in that hall anymore. It was a room, a spacious one and looked deluxe. However, i was anxious to be here because i am an inch closure to get everything I want. I laid back in the bed but the sleep flew and i stayed like that till the sunrise. I was afraid of this morning because i knew there will be someone here to bother me. And that’s when a soft knock was heard.
My heart paced but I calmed myself down. My anxiety will only elevate that b***h to come out on the surface. And I don't want that to happen. I went to open the door and I gasped to see the person standing at the doorstep, along with some maid in proper dressings.
“May i come in?” she asked me with a smile on her face.
I cannot remember to forget that smile. It reminds me of my… dad..
“Yes, sure.. Please…” I gestured to them to get inside the room and one of the maids locked it.
She was observing me from head to toe and I saw sharply how her green eyes were holding a judgment regarding me.
“I am sorry to bother you like this but I am sure you have a lot of things running in your mind, right?” she asked me.
I was silent, observing and interpreting everything before opening my mouth, “I don't know what to say…. I am shocked… i never thought to see you here, like this… more, i never expected to be here in the first place…`` I chuckled and get back in bed while watching them keenly.
“When i saw you that day, i knew that you are familiar… i wish i had knew it sooner before everything happened.” she commented and it triggered some painful memories. I did not want to break her neck or dig my nails deeply in my palms to resist the temptation of spilling the blood here.
“Yeah!! I remember you said that I looked like your deceased brother to which I assume that you deceased brother is my father, right?” I stared into her eyes.
“That’s what I meant but I didn't know that my deceased brother was alive and abducted his own daughter. But, it’s a good thing that you are back…” she was blurting the f**k like she can…
“Please, this place is not my home and it will never be. My father never mentioned anything about you or this place, so for me, I don't believe a single thing you say. Now, please leave me alone. I need to process all the things.'' I gritted my teeth while glaring at her.
“I cannot believe the audacity you have to show even being a brat but there is no surprise as this attitude has passed down to you by your father, to which i mean my brother, Elijah.” she looked at me with a smile, “Abria… we are not your enemies, we are your family.”
“Don’t you dare to count me as your family… the family which makes me believe a lie. When you had the moment to say it on my face, why didn’t you say it?” i yelled at that red head.
She was hesitant to reply but then she calmed down after a long breath, “you want answers, right? I will give every answer to your questions but now here. The queen has ordered us to bring you along with me. Please get ready so we can leave.” She made a request.
I did not want to do what she said to me but I have to meet this queen personally and this is the golden chance. So I get ready quickly and ready to leave with them. As we passed several corridors, I saw how the inferior group stood aside when we passed. None of them dared to look at us. I believe that Daphne holds a position here which makes her superior among them. I hope everything turns out to be fine because i am not ready to deal with more stress.
I don’t remember how long we walked and how many corridors we passed but I understood why the women here were so fit. I was so lost in watching the surroundings, I did not realise that we had reached our destination. The huge guards open the heavy metallic door but to my observation, they were made of ice too.
As soon as I entered the huge hall, the first thing my eyes landed on was him. I did not expect to be here but whatever is happening with me is completely unexpected, so I should stop expecting things from now on. I noticed his eyes were on me too, as I walked down to the stage where he was sitting but my gaze averted to the woman I hate from my guts, the one who claimed to be my mother. But I was more shocked to see Dwyn sitting right next to her as he is that woman’s apprentice.
The queen rose up from the huge ice throne she was sitting on. I wondered if everything was made of ice and snow? Uh…
“Welcome Abria… how are you feeling now?” she asked me with an over sweet voice. I literally wanted to throw up with that much sugar to digest.
“I am good…” I said while looking here and there but her.
“I am glad to hear that… now, we will have a warm and delicious breakfast…” she ordered and the other residents in the hall started to eat.
I was taken to the table where only superiors were allowed. Daphne made me sit next to the queen and it disgusted me to the core.
“What would you like to have, Abria? There are plenty of choices, and if you want something special, the chef will bring it to you…” oh… why is she pretending like that? She could have said just to have breakfast.
“I have lost my appetite.. You carry on..``I rolled my eyes while shifting a little left from her.
“No… you are still recovering so have something..” now she is bugging me.
“I don’t want to…” I grit my teeth.
“You have to… because after breakfast, i have to talk to you about a lot of stuff… you might need a backup for saving energy..” she whispered in my ear and i glared at her.
“I was looking for this opportunity, your highness…” I smirked as everything was going smoothly and according to the plan.
Even without any appetite, I had a few bites from the fried egg just to cover up enough. I did not want to trigger the nausea so I avoided eating further. When everybody on the table was done, we were allowed to go. I saw everyone leaving, even Dwyn. all this time, his eyes were on me and i noticed he kept staring at me.
Almost everyone left the hall except the queen, Daphne and her husband.
“So, from where should we begin?” Daphne asked the queen.
“You don’t have to take the load, I will elaborate everything to all of you…”
