Chapter Thirteen When Lek arrived home from school with Chalita the following afternoon, she went straight around the back to check whether the slab had been laid or not, and was stopped in her tracks. She had gathered from conversations that it would be about two by two metres, but what confronted her was huge in comparison - more like ten by two with concrete pillars every couple of metres, taking up a third of the width of the back garden with a small dog leg up the side of the perimeter fence. “Is that Tom’s shed?” she asked her mother. “Yes, or at least some of it is.
