Jeff held Jane's still body on his lap in the back of his car, he saw that she was waking up. He held a bottle of juice to her lips. "Drink it my love, it will help with the pain." Jane smiled and drank the juice. It had a funny chemical taste, but she was thirsty. She blinked. "Max, where am I?" she was confused. Jeff shushed her. "Quiet now love, we have a long way to go." Jane wanted to open her eyes, her lids were too heavy. She fell asleep, laying her head on Jeff's lap. He slowly undressed her and softly stroked her breast and flat abdomen. He removed her soiled clothing and prepared her for their flight to Athens Greece. He had a yacht waiting for them tomorrow. He dressed her in a white gown and wrapped her in a fur coat. It was soft and warm. He put gold embroidered slippers on her feet. He would wash her up once they got on the private jet. He would clean the dried blood from her hair. He put a big diamond engagement ring on her finger. He smiled at her, his future wife. He would keep her sedated for a while. She was nicer to him this way. Max called Jamie, her cell phone rang in the office where he had been using it to test Jamie's computer. He started to worry. It was over an hour now. The breakfast was cold. He put on his sweat jacket and ran along the path that she always took, scanning the horizon for her. He stopped suddenly, seeing a pool of blood on the sidewalk. She must have gotten hurt somehow. The blood was fresh. He searched the area and noticed a rock with blood and something else, there on the ground. Jamie's ear bud. He looked around and saw a man's sized shoe print in the blood along the side walk. It lead off of the sidewalk and onto the road. One more clue, a metal prong and a wire. It looked sharp. He grabbed it in a tissue and ran home. He looked the metal object up online. " A stun gun." He called the police. Jane Knight has been kidnapped. The police arrived and assessed the crime scene. They took samples of the blood and pictures of the shoe print. They asked Max for her tooth brush or hair samples for her DNA. He provided everything. The detectives were skeptical. In these cases the husband or in this case, the boyfriend is usually involved. They brought Max in to be interviewed. " I'm detective Adam Conners, please tell me your full name and date of birth. This interview is just a preliminary meeting to investigate the disappearance of your fiance? Jane knight. Do you agree to be video taped?" Max nodded and ran his hands through his hair. He was frantic to find Jamie. The detective pushed him about the recent photos surfacing of him and Crystal Fine together in a compromised condition. He asked Max about any violent tendacies he may have. Max denied this, said he was set up by Jeff Allen. They asked him to take a lie detector test. He agreed to everything..... "Max Turner, can you tell us how you came to know Jane knight." Max agreed, he told them he had known her as Jamie Clarke. He was just a teenager, she was his nanny, they had a s****l relationship at that time. It was a deep romance, she was his first love. One day, it was all over. They were discovered and they were separated. He told them that he had reconciled with her, they were engaged, they were happy. Max told them to ask Jeff about all of this. They sat back and nodded. " Max, have you ever harmed Jane knight?" He said ," No. never!" They shook their heads and frowned, they told him that he was lying. He shook his head, tears in his eyes. He remembered now that he had indeed forced himself on her. He pulled nervously at his hair. They asked him, "Have you ever raped anyone?" They were asking about Crystal Fine specifically. He said, "Yes." He was telling the truth. He had technically raped someone. He was breathing hard, remembering that night with his Jamie. He was so angry, he had slapped her face, he shoved her down and hurt her. He had hurt his one true love that night. He couldn't lie. He did that to Jane Knight. The police arrested him then on suspicion of murder. They served a search warrant on Jane's home. They confiscated his and Jane's computers. They saw Jane's search engine, looking for suspicious things: Where to find a call girl named Crystal Fine. How to tell your ex boss you are onto him. Where to send cease and desist orders to Jeff Allen. They deduced that Max had been jealous of Jane and Jeff's relationship and had been the one on Jane's computer. Max was defeated. He had told them that they had the wrong guy. They needed to find her. Keep looking! They asked him to tell them what happened. "Did you lose control again, did you bash her head in- over that jagged rock. Did you rape her again, kill her?" He shook his head, "Never!" They were sure that he was guilty. They weren't looking anywhere else. One detective, Kelly Aragon was fairly new to the position as homicide detective. She was skeptical of everything. She looked a bit deeper at things, fresh eyes. She had noticed things. Like: tire prints, shoe prints, and DNA. Max had handed over all of the evidence. She held the stun gun prong in her hand, turning it over- it had been processed for DNA already. She saw a serial number and wrote it down in her pink note book. She would stay up late to search for this item on her computer. Where was it sold? Why didn't they find a stun gun at Jane's home? Why were the bloody footprints in a smaller size than what Max had worn? Why was Max on Jane's computer? The time line didn't add up. If Max was on Jane's computer when she went out for that run, how the hell could he stun gun her and kill her, hide her body, then call the police to report her missing -all within one hour? Impossible. She might be a new detective, she might be just a woman. She was certainly now team Max. She wrote it all down. She scheduled a visit with Max at the jail. He refused. He had hired a new counsel to speak for him. The response was, " No comment." Max wouldn't be free for 24 more hours until his step dad, Tim would post his $500,000. bail. Tim came as soon as he had gotten the call from Max. He owed it to Max. He owed it to Jamie.
