Chapter 40 - Present
“You might be right, but it doesn’t change that something is weird about your scent. So, I would check it with the Pack’s doctor if I was you. It may be some weird side effect, and you would want it to get worse.”
Madison could be an amazing tracker, but even she wouldn't be able to figure out what he had done a month ago, reassuring Aaron when she continued with her answer. Soon, he agreed with her before they decided to go to another bar to enjoy the rest of the evening with the other Werewolf couple who would join them there.
… However, unlike him, the same certainly couldn't be said about Giselle as she was quietly drawing into her friend's words…
"I mean, I don't even remember the last time you went on a date with a guy, so that would be basically impossible. Besides, I know you decided to wait for your Mate after all. Even if you hadn't said a word about it to me."
As she mentioned her future Alpha's old plans, Jiya just said what she believed to be true without knowing the utter mess going on in Elle's head once again.
"Mate? Did you find your Mate?" As if the situation couldn't get any worse, Sabrina asked through the open door before noticing her daughter's state. "Goddess?! Elle! Are you fine?!"
Running into the bathroom to help Jiya with her, the older she-wolf even forgot about her previous question, which her daughter soon redressed, despite how powerless she felt.
"I didn't... I didn't find my Mate. Jiya was just talking randomly." Giselle completed her answer after her mother asked what, looking at her friend this time for her to back up her words, not wanting Sabrina to doubt any of them.
"Goddess! Giselle! I don't care about your Mate right now! Are you okay?! What happened to you?! Do you want me to call the Pack's doctor?!" Recalling how sick her stepson was in the last month, the brunette woman was terribly afraid that the same could happen to her daughter, or even worse, as they never found the cause of it, and Werewolves wouldn't usually get sick.
... Omegas could get ill, but they were usually pups or much older wolves, already without Mates in most cases...
In other words, even if she didn't show it much in their daily life, Sabrina was worried about her only child due to such thoughts when they took Elle to Eddy's room, which was the closest.
"Why did you push yourself when you already knew you weren't feeling well?" The owner of the voice that scolded young Alpha while she was still concerned with her was her grandmother.
She got there after her daughter called, telling her what had happened to Giselle and how the young she-wolf tried to argue with her, wanting to deliver the clothes she had finished as promised.
"I'm sorry, Grandma. I really didn't think it was this bad. That I was just tired." But as earlier with Paola, Elle could only give her the same answer... That she was just tired.
Yet, like her mother earlier, her grandmother also wanted to call the Pack's doctor, although Giselle quickly told them that it was unnecessary as she was already better.
... And as if it could prove anything, she soon disappeared back into her room, taking only Jiya with her...
"Are you sure that you're okay?" Unable to think about a better question at that moment, her friend showed her an expression that showed her how worried she truly was with Elle.
"Hmm, I'm fine. I just need a good night's sleep, and everything will be back to normal tomorrow. You don't need to worry."
Despite her mind proceeding to tell her anything but that, the future Alpha answered her Beta with a gentle smile on her lips that left no room for disagreements as if everything would really go back to normal on the next day...
Yet, the same couldn't be said to her thoughts that continued to bother her about how correct the words Jiya said earlier could be.
