Honey

Chapter 56 - Present - Giselle "Eddy, can you do mommy a favor?" Still hugging her pup, Giselle asked, looking into his big eyes as she ran a hand through his hair. "Can you keep Bean a secret like you've done so far for me? Can you keep it a secret just between the two of us?" Although he hadn't mentioned anything so far, the young Alpha decided it would be best to tell Eddy that he shouldn't say anything about it to anyone else. "Hmm! I won't speak to anyone about Bean, not even daddy!" Jumping up as he sat on the bed, Edward promised her, even talking about his father as if he could read Elle's mind. "I will keep it a secret between me, mommy, and Bean only!" Hugging Giselle once more, he commented happily, placing his ear against her belly... Hearing the strange noise that had appeared there recently, and which probably would have made him think his mommy was sick if he hadn't remembered about the other she-wolf that took care of him occasionally. * * * Edward's little giggles made that peaceful moment even more special as he repeated the action that he had done a lot when he had slept with me recently... Honestly, I believed it was the main reason why he had found out about my pregnancy, unlike Alpha Magnolia, who had noticed the subtle change in my scent. Of course, it could just be my imagination since only time would be able to tell if Eddy was also a tracker like her or not. "Mommy... When will I meet Bean? Will it be soon?" Edward's voice already sounded sleepy once again when he turned his cute face to look at me while asking that simple question of curiosity, putting another smile on my lips without me even being aware. "...In a few months, Honey. But hopefully, it'll take a while since compared to Aunt Larah's bean, Mommy's bean is still just a little one." And so, I answered him as it was the most natural thing to do, brushing the hair away from his face with my fingers before drowsiness also overwhelmed me as it did with him... Allowing me to take a pleasant nap that made me feel much better when I woke up late. ... All the morning sickness was completely gone now, and although I had slept for less than an hour, it felt like it was more than enough for my body when I opened my eyes before my smartphone alarm went off... A rare accomplishment since the device seemed to have become my best friend recently, even if I used to be a morning person. … So, it always helped me on days when I woke up feeling that I hadn't gotten enough rest, as occasionally, I went back to sleep without noticing, making me almost late for anything since training or work… “Good morning, Elle.” As soon as I went downstairs, I heard my step-father tell me while he was making some waffles, which smell great to eat with some honey, even if I usually wasn’t fond of them. "Can I have these two?" Asking about the plate that already had two on it, I figured they were either his or my mother's since neither Aaron nor Ronnie seemed to be up yet. "... Sure... But I thought you didn't like waffles." And just as I had mentioned a minute ago, Charles commented, pouring himself another cup of coffee. "They're not my favorite, but they smell extremely good today." Without thinking too much, I said back to him, putting a smile on the face of the man, who loved to cook but also always said that it was a challenge to please the Werewolves' taste. "Really? I didn't do anything different today... I wonder if it's the new butter I bought?" Getting me to be the one smiling now, I could only tell him that I had no idea before allowing the wonderful flavor to spread through my mouth, not taking long for me to devour the whole thing before going to see the Pack doctor as I had promised Alpha Magnolia...
