Cravings?

Chapter 57 - Present - Giselle "... Dad? Didn't you say my waffles were ready?" Confused, Ronnie asked his father as he walked back into the kitchen after going to pick up his phone. "Yes, I did. But since it seemed like you had forgotten about it during the half-hour you took to get your phone in your room, I gave it to someone else." While on his seat at the table, Charles commented, figuring out that his youngest son must have gotten lost while talking to some of his friends as usual. "Don't even try to complain to me! You're the one who didn't come back earlier, and in any way, I already gave them to Giselle after she asked me if she could have them. After all, I already knew that you were not going to come back any time soon." As he was more than used to that routine since the boy had started high school, it was no longer a surprise to the man when he finished his breakfast before getting up to prepare a couple of extra waffles for Ronnie. "Giselle? You mean the same Elle I know?" Acting like his father was talking about someone unknown, the teenager's eyes left his phone for a second, following Charles into the open kitchen. "Since when does she eat Waffles?" It wasn't as if the young woman never ate the sweet treat, but it usually only happened when the others were already eating it when she joined them during breakfast. So, the actual weird thing about what Charles had said was how she had served herself first before the others that morning. "Are you sure Giselle was the one who said that or were you the one who forced her to eat to prove you are an excellent chef?" Sabrina was the one who made such a comment, joking with her husband, although she also found her daughter's behavior quite strange. ...Giselle didn't look like either of her parents most of the time, but when it came to little details like that, the older she-wolf believed Elle looked just like her ex, even if both of them had never met in person... "I'm not lying. She said the smell was better than usual, and ate them right away after covering it with honey." Playing along with her, Charles answered Sabrina before she completed her words, saying that Elle was just being nice to him while laughing, recalling how honey was Giselle's favorite food in the past. ... That was if she could consider it as food... "But honestly, I have no doubts that this is true since she used to eat anything that had honey in it when she was a pup. So, maybe this is one of those things that hasn't changed at all since then." That was a pretty simple comment, but it ended up bringing up the wolf's mind how she used to say that Giselle's love for honey was caused due to her addiction to it when she was pregnant with her. She could eat a whole jar in a minute if someone gave it to her back then... And just like that, Sabrina could only smile while eating another bite, thinking that despite the disaster of her previous relationship, her daughter was one of the best she had in her life... Even if often, she wasn't very good at sharing it with Elle. * * * I could swear that the last thing someone could do before a doctor's appointment was to be eating as much candy as I was right now. However, I also believed it would be much worse if I was eating all the honey that I craved for, and which I had to stop myself a couple of times from buying when I stopped at the grocery store on the way here earlier. ... My urge to want to eat this was so unexpected that I began to wonder if it was the famous pregnancy cravings that everyone always talked about by any chance... "Hi, Elle. How have you been? It has been a while since the last time I have seen you here." Doctor Milo's question was a pretty common one, although most of my previous visits had been due to Eddy, either for routine checkups or simple colds that were common at his age. "I can see that your cravings have already started." His comment wasn't what I expected to hear as soon as I walked in, so it stopped me from taking another bite of my chocolate bar right away. "Don't worry, no one else knows about it. Alpha Magnolia only discussed it with me because she was worried about your health, so she wanted me to keep an eye on you in case you didn't come here any time soon." "I know she only meant good as always, but... I was hoping that I would be the one to tell you about it like any other normal patient." "I comprehend that you may be feeling a little betrayed due to this. But as you said, Alpha Magnolia was only thinking about what's best for you, especially since she wasn't sure if you had already visited another doctor or not to know if everything is okay so far." It wasn't hard to imagine that such thoughts had crossed her mind as she knew my personality very well to the point that she might as well already know who was the father of the pup I was expecting... Even if she must be full of doubts about why she, and no one else, had managed to notice our mating as it would usually happen to other Mate couples.
