Chapter 58 - Present - Aaron
Despite believing that she had taken longer than necessary to go see the Pack's doctor, Giselle was glad to hear that everything was fine with her future pup.
In addition to the news that her own health was also very good, having no reason for any kind of concern that she might have running through her mind.
"So, are there any other questions you would like to do to me?" Milo asked her, walking back to his desk.
He had already said all the important things to the mom-to-be, yet he wanted to confirm there wasn't anything else she wanted to talk about with him.
And for a while, nothing seemed to be going through Giselle's mind as she looked down at her hands, uncertain whether it all could be real or not.
These weren't the same negative feelings she had before, rather just a dreamlike realization that she would really have a child with her Mate.
Aaron might not have the slightest idea of that, but Elle wasn't bothered by this anymore, eagerly waiting for the day she would meet and hold their pup in her arms for the first time.
... It has been the magical moment when she fell in love with Edward, so she couldn't stop wondering how it would feel like if the baby was her own...
"Elle? Are you feeling alright?"
"Hmm. It's just... It all feels like a dream come true." Smiling back at the doctor, all the drama of the past few weeks disappeared from her mind as she felt happy in a way she couldn't explain.
"I see. I'm glad to hear that you feel this way, but back to what I asked, do you have any questions or concerns you would like to ask me?"
Thinking for a moment, she couldn't think of anything until she remembered the lingering ones that hadn't left her head a couple of days ago.
"I know you already said it will be born as Human, but is there any chance it won't happen, and they could arrive before expected?" Realistically speaking, time was the most precious thing to Elle at that very moment as it would allow her to get ready to be a mother... As if she wasn't already one to Eddy.
It was also precious to her since she needed it to sort out simple things like where she was planning to live after the baby arrived since she doubted it would be easy to keep living with her family then...
Her mother would definitely want to know how it happened and who the father was... And if her child grew up as similar as Eddy to Aaron, it was only a matter of time before it would come clean to everyone, especially when they lived all under the same roof.
"You mentioned the father is Human, right? So, in that case, you have nothing to worry about since it's rare for Hybrid pups to be born in their wolf or Werewolf forms."
But back to Doctor Milo's explanation, his words eased Giselle's thoughts.
"It only happens when the mother spends many days or weeks in one of these shapes, causing the pup to be more comfortable in one of them than in their Human one as usual. But for now, in the first few weeks, it's comfortable in whatever form you take because of its size, and only around the sixteenth week that it starts to change, and by the twentieth, they'll be shifting along with you if nothing goes wrong. So, make sure to take care of your health if you don't wish this pup to be born earlier than expected."

"She's acting strange again." As if there was his room, Ronnie stated, laying down on Daniel's bed without even taking his shoes off.
"What are you complaining about now, Ron?" Before I could even ask him what he was talking about then, Dan came back with some drinks in his hand for us. "And take your damn shoes from my bed!"
His Mate wasn't here today as she went to help her sister finish organizing some things missing in the baby's room since Larah kept saying that her own Mate didn't know how to do it right.
"I'm not complaining about anything! I'm just saying that Elle had been acting weird for the past few days, or haven't you guys noticed?" Randomly removing his sneakers without caring about where they fall, he commented, asking me to pass him a soda that Daniel put next to me on the desk.
"Well, who hasn't acted strangely in the Pack in the last few weeks? Or rather, since last month?" Answering him back with a question, Dan wasn't wrong to mention it since everyone had seemed to become kind of crazy since they had noticed the smell of hunters in the woods.
... In other words, she wasn't the only one, and even Sabrina always told us to be careful when we went out, even though my brothers and I were Human, unlike them...
"I know! But, I don't mean that!" Quickly, whining as a child, Ronnie seemed annoyed because we couldn't understand his point of view. "I mean, she seems weird, very weird! I-"
"Okay, okay! Now stop yelling, or everyone in the Pack's house will hear you."
It wouldn't be strange to say that Dan wasn't paying any attention to what our younger brother was saying when he put a cookie in Ron's mouth to shut him up.
"Besides, it's not like it's any of our business if she's acting weird or not." Turning on his Xbox one, which was the real reason we were there, Daniel definitely wasn't wrong about what he was saying since he was never close to the girl, who one day, out of nowhere, became our step-sister.
… And even the time they lived together had been brief compared to ours, as he soon graduated and moved into the dorms at the college, although he occasionally came home for the holidays...
"I know it... But, she's really acting weird, and I don't think it's just because of that." Suddenly becoming an expert when it was about Giselle, Ronnie kept trying to talk about this with us. "She's even avoiding Aaron more than usual."
Almost causing me to spit out my drink, his comment surprised me, although I couldn't deny that it was true.
She was acting strange, and it annoyed me to think that it could be due to the man I met a couple of days ago in her grandmother's store.
"Whatever. She's always avoided Aaron since the first day we met, and only her mom and dad pretend or don't know why she does that." Like me, Daniel was also sure about Elle's feelings for me, and he didn't care to talk about it, unlike me. "But now, if you're going to keep talking about it until you find the reason behind her actions. Maybe it's due to this whole Alpha thing that's coming up, and she will take part in wanting or not."
"Oh! I had forgotten about it." Satisfied with such a reply, apparently, Ronnie was quiet for a moment before he asked us a new question that popped into his mind. "But talking about it... Do you guys think that it's true? That she is also a future Alpha like Owen and the others?"
"Well, it must be since the Alphas have no reason to lie about that." And that was Daniel's simple remark before shifting his attention back to the new horror game Ronnie had just bought but which he was too afraid to play alone.
"She doesn't seem like an Alpha to me. Besides, they're very fond of Elle, so can't it just be their favoritism? Since they like her, they want her to be the Pack's future Alpha."
"No really." Although I had listened to them in silence so far, I ended up saying back to my own surprise then. "I mean, it wouldn't make sense for them to do that since it would just put her in unnecessary danger, and I'm sure they wouldn’t want to do something like that."
