Chapter 11 - Present - Giselle
“Mommy! Mommy! Mommy, wait for me!” In a mixture of tiredness and haste, little Edward called out for Giselle, trying to keep pace with the older Werewolf.
... However, of course, it would be too much for the pup body that was just too young to even finish the journey without the help of an adult wolf who would carry him back to the Pack's house in the same way as the other little ones would go back with their parents...
"Edward, wait for us!" Sabrina was trying to stop her Mate's grandson, calling to him in her mind as the man did on her back. "Giselle, where are you?! You need to help me with Eddy! I can't follow him alone amid everyone!"
As she continued to go after the pup, the she-wolf asked for her daughter's help, even though she didn't know where the young woman could be, other than guessing that she must be running with her friend Jiya as usual.
... Both girls had always disappeared together when it was nights like those, and Sabrina could only be grateful to the Dominant wolves that would every time bring Elle back to her when they returned to the Pack's house as she couldn't keep up with them...
The brunette she-wolf was far from being one of the fastest Werewolves in Mirror Night, so she could only count on the help of the others at times like that one.

"Mommy!" Only a few seconds after my mother spoke to me, I heard Eddy's voice call out to me as I slowed down, lessening the distance between us. "Mommy, wait!"
My heart ached as I stopped at once to wait for him as he sounded louder this time while I could hear the excitement in his voice when I answered, telling him that he should be with his grandparents, not running alone.
However, such a scolding didn't diminish at all the little one's excitement to come to me as fast as he could while calling me with the forbidden word amidst the others, but without caring as they remained only in our minds.
"Uncle Ronnie left with his friend, and Auntie wasn't feeling well, so Grandma said I could try run by myself if I wanted to, and then when I saw Mommy, I decided to run with you."
Telling me everything quickly when we met, I could barely understand his words as he rubbed his head against my fur, feeling my scent that soothed him.
"I see. But even if Grandma said you could run by yourself, that doesn't mean you could run in between the adult wolves, pup. So you can't do it again, Eddy. You made Grandpa and Grandma worried."
As I returned the act of affection, I told him before informing my mother and stepfather that he was with me, and they didn't need to worry anymore.
And although the little one always accompanied them during the runs since Aaron didn't like to ride on the back of any wolf, not even his friends, I also told them that I would take Edward back to the Pack's house with me later, allowing them to enjoy that night alone for once.
"Thank you, Elle. We'll see you two again there then." Before I ordered Eddy to go back to his Human form, I heard my mother thank me as she went back to run with my stepfather since they rarely enjoyed the Full Moon nights alone in recent years.
So, I thought it was just the fair thing to do as the one who had taken away such freedom from them had been my Mate.
"Mommy, let's go?!" Aaron and I might be far from being like the other Mated couples. But as I heard the young voice call me that, it kept me believing that Eddy was as much my responsibility as he was his, regardless of what anyone else mind said about it.
"Hmm. Let's go, pup." And as I felt my bond with the little guy becoming even stronger, I trusted that it was true even more while recalling how it was the first time in a long time that he had accompanied me through our lands without it being a secret.
...We always did this from time to time to hide our little secret when he wanted to turn into his wolf without one of the Alphas being present in their animal self...
But it wasn't like the others had any idea about that.
"I can't believe he slept like that, just like the other pups..." As the festivities began to get into full swing at the Pack's house, Jiya commented when we met on our way home; her parents had already gone ahead of her while she followed my slower steps to avoid waking up Eddy. "By the way, he truly looks like your pup."
"I wish that were true. But I believe he didn't sleep well during the afternoon, getting too excited for tonight." I said back to her without further ado, noting how her fur looked even darker during the night.
"It may even be true, but no pup would sleep on the back of another wolf other than its parents. Their Omegas instincts don't allow that."
She continued to tell me, walking beside us, and as much as I wanted to disagree, I knew she was right.
"Omegas are naturally weaker because they're still young or sick, so they really need to trust the other wolf to show such a vulnerable side to them. And that kind of trust is not something you can have with a few years of friendship or anything like that, and you know that, Elle."
And just as I said, she finished confirming what I already knew as the sound of the others' voices became louder and louder around us until once again we met up with the whole Pack.
