Chapter 52 - Present - Giselle
What the Winter Witch had told Giselle wasn't far from the truth, but the young Alpha's mistake had been to underestimate the abilities of her leaders and current Alphas.
And this simple fact left her completely lost about what she should say to Magnolia next... Should she tell the older she-wolf the whole truth? Or would it be better to just say a part of it to her?
Frankly, Elle would rather be able to avoid that if possible.
But to do so, she would need more time to think, which wouldn't happen as she knew the other woman would only let her out of there if she gave her some answer.
Therefore, she needed to think of something quickly, either a lie or the best way to tell the truth that was hidden under several layers of secrets and spells now.
... In other words, none of them was an easy choice to make...
"..." Opening her mouth, she didn't even know where to begin, but as if Fate helped Giselle at that moment, something else caught Magnolia's attention then.
... The older Werewolf's eyes burned bright, listening to the message her husband was telling in her mind...
"Alpha Magnolia? ... Is everything okay?" Soon noticing it, Elle was afflicted to see the expression on her face before the other woman could even answer her.

"The hunters... They're back." As any sign of color disappeared from her face, Alpha Magnolia answered me pale.
"Did something happen to anyone? Are they all right?" Pulling up a chair for her to sit in, I couldn't help but worry about Alpha Dylan and the other members of the Pack, who were patrolling our lands at this very moment.
"Thankfully, they are all fine. But Dylan said that Owen almost attacked one of them, instead of just watching them from afar as we ordered them to." Such a mistake could be crucial, costing either his life or the one of anyone else who tried to help him, and I unbelievably think that Owen had done something like that.
... He could act like a teenager or a pub sometimes, but such a mistake was too much even for him...
Owen was quite clever, despite the way he acted, and of all the future Alphas, I was pretty sure that he was the one who could think of a solution faster in an emergency.
... He always knew exactly how to act and control such situations that it was simply impossible to think he hadn't followed the Alphas' rules this time…
"I will go see how they are, and what they have found out!" Completely forgetting about the store and my grandmother then, I said, managing only to think that we should find out what these hunters wanted with us as soon as possible for the safety of our Pack.
"Elle, wait!" However, before I could even leave the office, Alpha Magnolia stopped me. "I know it's useless to try to stop you from joining the others now, so please, I'll just ask you to go see Milo later."
It was easy to guess what she wanted me to do as she mentioned the name of the Pack's doctor.
"He won't tell anyone about this like any good doctor, and I can say the same about me for now... But, you should talk to Dylan about this later, as I no longer know how safe it would be for you to participate in the dispute for the title of our new Alpha."
Nothing about what she said was wrong, yet it was something to be thought about later, as there were more important things we had to deal with right now.
"Thank you, Alpha... And I promise you that I will do this as soon as possible since I also want to avoid putting this little one in danger if possible." Placing a hand on my belly, I confirmed what she already knew before I went to join the other wolves outside for the safety of our Pack and the future of those we loved.
