Chapter 36 - Aaron Looking as stunning as ever, Giselle’s small figure hidden by the fur blanket seemed to belong to a picture framed in a museum that didn’t belong only to my eyes. She was like a princess of a lost time, who knew how to command an army, yet could easily fool anyone with an innocent gaze, which hypnotized me a few nights ago in a way I couldn’t believe she could until it was already too late… It wasn't as if I couldn't refuse her, but rather, I didn't want to stop as each touch made me desire her even more like a young boy who had never touched a woman before. … And although I knew I should forget about that night. Not think about it at all. I could see the images of her figure against the sheets as they kept coming back to my mind in slow motion as I saw her like that… “Hey! What are you doing here?” Nevertheless, before I could lose myself any further in them, Sakura asked me for my luck. "... Hey... Edward kept asking me to bring him here since he woke up, so here we are." As casually as possible, I answered her, even though I knew my words sounded anything but usual right now. "Hmm... Eddy asked you..." And as I might have expected, she didn't seem to believe me by the way that her eyes traveled between the pup and me. "I see. I didn't know Elle was already back from her trip." "Yeah. She came back the other day, and Ed doesn't want to leave her alone for a moment." "Just Ed?" As if we two didn't know what she tried to entail with such a remark, she whispered back to me. Yet before I could defend myself against that insanity, a friend of hers called out to her. And with a simple goodbye, Sakura left me alone once again without saying anything else when I finally realized that neither Ed nor Giselle was outside anymore. … So, I quickly followed them into the Pack's house, unable to think about anything else but them… "Daddy! Look what the Alphas gave me!" Barely walking into the living room, my son ran up to me with a present in his hands while smiling happily and no longer having the she-wolf who my eyes kept following with him. "Elle went upstairs to freshen herself up. She will be down in a minute." Alpha Magnolia was the one who answered the question I never did, besides being the second person that day who was able to tell the actions I tried so hard to hide... Or maybe, not so hard as I thought. "Thank you, Alpha. You truly didn't need to give him anything this year." Acknowledging what she had said but not wanting to say another word about it, I thanked her for the gifts she and Alpha Dylan always bought Eddy and the other pups every single year. ... It was a kind gesture that I still hadn't gotten used to as I wasn't exactly one of them, despite having lived in the Pack for almost ten years now… Besides the fact that even my mother wasn't capable of such kindness with her own grandson, always treating him in such an indifferent way when we visited her. "Oh, Sweet. This is nothing. We all know how much I love to spoil the little ones." Patting Eddy's hair, she mentioned before telling me that she needed to go back to the kitchen to finish tonight's dinner, leaving us alone while my son played with his brand new toy, and I waited for Giselle... The feeling that I was going to a first date or prom soon filled my chest as I became anxious about the idea of her coming down soon, allowing me to see her beautiful brown eyes once more closely, even if they didn't belong to me. And somehow, that simple thought brought me a lot of different emotions that I had never had before towards her... Or at least, it was what I always pretended not to feel as she was far from my dream girl... Yet, I couldn't deny how jealous I was of who would have the honor of calling her his wife or Mate someday, as the Werewolves liked to say... "It's beautiful, Eddy." Her voice was more than gently talking to my son when he rushed to show his new toy to her. "Did you thank them properly for it?" Even without paying close attention to their conversation, I could easily tell what she was inquiring about, leading me back to thoughts of how she acted as if she really was his mother, and when our gazes met then... I became sure of one thing at that very moment. ... I was one step from going crazy for her, so I needed to handle it quickly before it was too late.
