Future Alphas

Chapter 31 - Present Despite the whirlwind of emotions and worries she still felt when she left Coleman, Giselle couldn't be happier to be back home. ... Back to her Pack's lands... She could feel like an outsider there sometimes, yet it didn't make her share similar thoughts as Noah at any moment, wanting to call somewhere else home other than Mirror Night. She felt connected to every single detail that existed there, even the troubles. And perhaps, this was one of the reasons why she was one of their future Alpha. ... Which remembering about the other young Alphas of her Pack... They weren't exactly the first wolves she would have wanted to see there upon arriving... Giselle quickly was full of doubts about what they should be doing in the Pack's house so early since it was a weekday, and like anyone else, they had their own regular jobs to attend to. Being Werewolves didn't excuse them from this more than ordinary aspect of Human life, even if sometimes they could create a bond between it and the Supernatural world, as was the case of the old hotel owned by their Alpha, employing the young ones in the summer. ... But either way, Elle froze in place when her eyes met Owen's, and instead of simply ignoring her presence as anyone else would have done, the other wolf soon walked over to her... He was the worst when it came to the people who said she didn't match the title she held. ... Owen liked to make his opinions very clear amidst all the comments and rumors that had been going around the Pack since the announcement that revealed it to everyone else. So, no matter how much she wanted him to keep his mouth shut for once, there wasn't a time when they met that he wouldn't say how unfit Giselle was to be called an Alpha... "Look who is here... I haven't seen you around lately that I had even thought you had left the Pack with your tail between your legs as your friend did." Strangely, his words riled her up more than usual... Probably because he mentioned Noah, who had just helped her when she needed it most, and no one else knew how thankful she was to him and Ria. However, it wasn't enough to make someone like Giselle lose her cool as she closed her fist tightly, thinking how childish Owen could act at times, despite them all knowing why the future Alpha had decided to leave Mirror Night. He had been more than clear with everyone on his last night there, even if it wasn't necessary. But even so, he did it since he knew how many members of the Pack wanted him to be their future leader. "..." Opening her mouth for a moment, the she-wolf even thought about correcting him, making the male apologize for his words. But then, she soon realized that would be useless since it would grant him all the attention he wanted by teasing her before the other Werewolves. "I don't know what made you come up with such an idea, Owen. But I will never leave our Pack. Now excuse me as I have more important things to speak with our Alphas." Recalling him about who the almighty of Mirror Night still were, Giselle spoke with an uncharacteristic kind of confidence, heading toward the Pack's house without giving Owen or any other future Alpha time to stop her on her way. “Wh… Wha-What is wrong with her…”
