"Are you not going to follow Gun, Ma'am Arielle? What if he never comes back? No one will save you if someone tries to harm you again," Emma asked her worriedly while they were sitting in the living room.
She turned to her maid and shook her head. "No, Emma. Maybe he's not the right person to be my driver-bodyguard."
Gun doesn't seem like a bodyguard. His actions and way of speaking don't fit the role of a bodyguard. Well, he's not really a bodyguard but just a driver. But even being a driver doesn't suit him either.
Maybe Gun attended college but was not able to finish his studies. And maybe he was just forced to become the driver of that woman because she was his girlfriend and maybe the salary was too high.
"Maybe you should ask Sir Tyron's help in finding a bodyguard, Ma'am Arielle?" Emma suggested, which she immediately responded to with a strong refusal. If her bodyguard is from Tyron, she is sure that she won't last a week and she will become a cold corpse.
Emma didn't say anything else and just looked at her before shaking her head and leaving her alone.
Arielle stayed at her house because she had nowhere else to go. It was also good for her to make sure she was safe.
She did not expect Tyron to visit her the next day. He looked good as if he was attending an important occasion. He told her to dress nicely because they had somewhere to go.
"Where are we going?" she asked Tyron while she was in his car.
She couldn't help but think of something bad. Maybe he is planning something bad against her again. But she immediately countered that thought. Tyron probably won't kill her in broad daylight. And in a place where she can ask for help.
"Relax, Arielle. We are just going to have lunch with my family," Tyron replied with a smile.
Somehow, her worries disappeared when she heard what Tyron said. But it seems like she already knows why they are going to have lunch with his family. Even though she can guess what Tyron is going to do, she pretends to have no idea.
When they arrived at the restaurant where his mother and sister were, she suddenly stopped walking. Because she saw Gun with his girlfriend eating inside that restaurant too. There were two tables apart from the table where Tyron's mother, Lucy, and of course, Claire, were sitting.
"We are here, Tyron," his mother waved at them with a smile.
"Let's go," Tyron held her arm and she didn't resist him and just let him lead her towards the three women waiting for them.
While they were walking towards their table, she secretly glanced at Gun. She saw him looking at her with a dark expression.
"Sit down, Arielle. Sit here," Tyron's mother stood up and pulled a chair for her, facing Gun.
She could only secretly smirk at Cynthia's actions. The way she acted seemed like a very kind future mother-in-law. If she hadn't experienced how she treated her before, she would think she was lucky with her mother-in-law. But she knew she was a monster behind the beautiful smile and kindness she showed her. And her daughter, Lucy, was not far from her nature.
When she thinks about the oppression they did to her in her first life, she also wants to make them suffer physically in her current life. But she can't do what they did to her, so she will just seek revenge differently. Not physical, but she is sure that the impact will be more painful than physical they did to her.
While they were eating, she secretly saw her four companions at the table exchanging meaningful glances.
"I think this is the right time, Mom," Tyron said with a smile to his mother.
"Go ahead, son," Cynthia urged her child.
Tyron clapped three times and suddenly two musicians, both holding violins, approached them. They began to play a melodious tune. The customers who were also eating inside the restaurant looked at them, including Gun and the woman with him. Aside from Gun, their eyes were full of excitement and curiosity about what kind of romantic scene they were about to witness.
Tyron stood up from his seat with a smile, he turned her chair so she would face him. He took something out of his pocket and then knelt in front of her. He heard the almost simultaneous gasps of the people when they saw what Tyron did.
"We have been together for several years, Arielle. We know each other very well and most importantly, we both love each other very much. So, I hope this time you will accept my marriage proposal. I love you very much, Please, marry me," Tyron said emotionally before opening the small box he was holding.
The sparkling wedding ring made of diamond caught her eye. She secretly sneered in her mind. She was sure that this diamond ring was fake because she couldn't believe that he would spend a fortune on a wedding ring just for a show. She was certain that it was just a glass diamond wedding ring that he was giving to her.
"Say yes! Say yes! Say yes!" all the smiling customers in the restaurant said in unison. They all expected her to accept Tyron's wedding proposal except for Gun. Because she saw his face darken even more as if he didn't like what he saw.
His girlfriend does not notice Gun's facial expression because her attention is focused on them.
Suddenly, Gun stood up in his seat and pulled the woman with her out of the restaurant without throwing a glance at her again. She felt disappointed because Gun wouldn't see how she would reject Tyron's wedding proposal. She wants him to know that he was wrong about her.
"C'mon, Arielle. Say yes now!" Claire urged her with a sweet smile.
Say yes? For what? So that after we get married, you and he will have the opportunity to kill me for the second time? she asked Claire in her mind.
"What are you still waiting for, Arielle? Don't make my brother wait any longer and just accept the marriage proposal he's offering you. Be thankful that he's even offering you a marriage even though you're not the one I want him to marry," Lucy said with a frown. Her tongue was really sharp so she deserved to be taught a lesson.
She stood up and faced Lucy with her head held high. "You speak as if I will get huge benefits from marrying your brother, Lucy. What benefits will I get if we get married? Will I become a co-owner of his wealth? No, right? Because I am wealthier than him. And you might even want a share of my wealth."
"What are you talking about, Arielle? Why do you treat my sister that way? We will be a family soon, so you should give her respect," Tyron angrily scolded her.
She couldn't help but laugh slightly at what Tyron said. "Earlier when Lucy said something bad to me, you didn't say anything, but now that I said something bad to her, you're angry. You're really a good brother to your spoiled and feeling princess sister."
Lucy was about to speak up to contradict what she said, but her mother quickly held her arm and prevented her from speaking.
The people who were cheering and encouraging her earlier to accept Tyron's marriage proposal suddenly stopped. They felt the tension that suddenly enveloped the restaurant. They just silently watched them as if they were watching a drama movie in the cinema.
"What are you doing, Arielle? It was supposed to be your happy day. Please control your temper. It's embarrassing for the people," Claire scolded her, clearly wanting to show the people around them that she has a bad attitude.
"Even though I don't like you for my son, I forced myself to accept you, Arielle. Because I thought you were a good person. But I was wrong." Cynthia's voice was weak as she spoke, but she knew she was just holding herself back. It would only make her look more like a squatter if she showed her true color in front of many people.
"Nice act, Cynthia," she said mockingly to Tyron's mother, then she faced Tyron again to speak to him. "I'm sorry but I can't marry you, Tyron. I'm too lazy to ride your mother and sister's acting. Even you too, Tyron. My advice to you to improve your life is to start a talent agency. You're all good at acting, anyway. I'm sure you will earn a lot of money from your family's talent."
Tyron's face turned red with the perceived anger towards her and the embarrassment in front of many people. But for her, what she did to humiliate them was nothing compared to what she experienced before at the hands of the four of them.
"You will regret this, Arielle," Tyron clenched his fists and warned her.
"Never," she firmly replied before giving him a sharp look and then walked out of the restaurant with her head held high.
