"What do you mean, Arielle? Is your boyfriend trying to kill you? Is he the one who poisoned you and made you end up in the hospital?" Gun asked, furrowing his brows.
The truth was she didn't mean for Gun to hear the name she mentioned. She thought she only answered his question in her mind, but apparently not.
"Just forget what I said, Gun," she quickly said to him. Though she trusted him, she wasn't ready to tell him about Tyron and Claire.
"Forget it? After you've left me hanging in curiosity, you're going to tell me to forget what you said—"
He raised his voice slightly, so she hurriedly covered his mouth with her hand to prevent him from speaking. She was worried that her two maids might hear his loud voice. She was sure that her maids would wonder if they were quarreling once they heard his loud voice.
"Lower your voice," she whispered, her one hand remained covering his mouth. She glanced worriedly towards the kitchen, checking for any indication of someone nearby.
She breathed deeply upon hearing the two voices of her maids chatting in the kitchen. She returned her gaze to Gun's face. She suddenly stopped when she realized how close their faces were to each other.
Gun's eyes stared at her face intently. They both seemed to have frozen in their places, with only their eyelashes moving.
It's weird. But she felt like the world suddenly stopped spinning. She had never felt that way with Tyron before.
They suddenly moved away from each other when they heard a crash on the floor like the lid of a cauldron.
Gun was the first to wake up from what seemed like magic that enveloped them just moments ago.
"If you want me to protect you, you should tell me everything I need to know, Arielle. That way, I'll have an idea who I should protect you from," Gun said seriously to her.
She took a deep breath before speaking. "Follow me."
She brought Gun inside the music room so they could talk properly without anyone overhearing them. She plans to bring him to her room, but she is worried that the two maids might see Gun coming out of her room and think badly of them, so in the end, she just brings him to the music room instead.
"Can you tell me now about the things I should know about you?" Gun immediately asked after locking the door.
She let out another deep sigh. She had no choice but to tell Gun what she had discovered about her boyfriend and cousin.
"Okay. You're right. It was my boyfriend who wanted me dead. Not just him but also my cousin, Claire," she confessed.
She revealed what she discovered but didn't mention anything about her time travel to the past. It's too early for him to know about that matter. And she doesn't know if he would believe it when she says that she's from the future and she time-traveled six months before her wedding with Tyron after she was killed by Tyron and Claire. Surely, he won't believe her story.
"The moment I saw you intentionally trip your boyfriend's foot, I sensed something wrong in your relationship. I thought you were just a spoiled brat woman. But when I saw the three of you in front of the comfort room, I realized there's something between your cousin and your boyfriend. And I also heard some of your conversations," Gun confessed to her.
"I never thought he would hurt me just for my inheritance. I truly love him. My world revolved around him before I discovered their deception against me," she said with a tinge of sadness in her voice.
She's not sad because she still loves Tyron, but because she wasted the time she could have spent with her parents when they were still alive.
"You shouldn't be sad because of that guy, Arielle. What happened is a blessing in disguise because it woke you up from that nightmare," Gun said with a grim face.
Gun misunderstood her feelings. He thought she was sad because she still loved Tyron.
"You don't understand, Gun. I don't—"
"He's not the man for you, Arielle. There's a man nearby who truly loves you."
Her forehead furrowed at what she heard. "A man nearby who truly loves me? Who is that? Do I know him?"
Her heart raced as she stared at Gun, waiting for his answer. Who is he referring to as the man who truly loves her and is just around? Is it himself? But Gun couldn't answer her question because the door suddenly opened, and Tyron stormed in, very angry.
"What is the meaning of this, Arielle? Why is that man here in your house? And what are you two doing alone in this room without anyone else?" Tyron angrily scolded her. His face was red with intense anger.
"Instead of asking how I am, that's what you're going to say to me? You didn't even visit the hospital again after you left, and now you come to my house angry?" she responded irritably.
"Answer my question, Arielle. What is this man doing in your house? Why are there only two of you here in the room? What if he has bad intentions against you!"
"Stop asking like you're concerned with her, Tyron," Gun said. He pulled her away from Tyron and hid her behind him. Secretly, she felt happy about what he did. For the first time, she feels completely safe.
"I am not talking to you, bastard!" Tyron shouted loudly at Gun.
Gun's eyes narrowed before his fist struck Tyron's mouth. She screamed when Tyron fell to the floor while his mouth was bleeding.
"Stop it, Gun!" she said in a loud voice when Gun was about to approach Tyron to deliver another punch. "Please leave us alone first. We're just going to talk."
Gun's face darkened, and his eyes narrowed, clearly displeased with what she said. It seemed like she was taking Tyron's side because of her statement.
Gun is too hot-blooded. He gets angry easily. And she worries that Gun might do something worse to Tyron if he stays inside the room. But she's not worried about Tyron; she's worried about Gun. She doesn't want him to hurt anyone because of her.
She knew that Gun couldn't control himself not because Tyron called him a bastard but because of what he discovered about Tyron's recent attempts to kill her. But now is not the right time for them to confront Tyron.
"Did you hear what Arielle said, Gun? Get out of this room!" Tyron shoo Gun away.
Despite Gun's bleeding mouth, he managed to smirk at Tyron as if to say that he still won between the two of them because she sided with him.
Gun left the music room without saying a word and forcefully closed the door.
"Why is your mind so dirty, Tyron? Gun and I were just talking about his job with me, that's why we're here," she said irritably to Tyron after Gun left.
Instead of answering her question, he suddenly hugged her tightly. "I know you still love me, Arielle. That you won't replace me with that man. I'm very jealous of him because I'm afraid of losing you that's why I lost control of my control."
She sighed when she heard what he said. No matter what he said, he won't believe him anymore because she knows that it was all fake.
She pulled away from his embrace and distanced herself slightly.
"Work is the only reason why Gun is here, Tyron. He has a rich and beautiful girlfriend, so what you're thinking is impossible to happen."
"Let's get married, Arielle. It's the only way for me to stop thinking badly about the two of you. This way, we'll always be together, and I can protect you from anyone trying to harm you. I'll have my Mom come here so we can discuss the details of our wedding," Tyron said with a smile.
After speaking, he quickly ran out of the music room and didn't wait for her answer. She didn't even manage to answer because he immediately left the room. Surely in the following days, his mother will visit her to discuss their marriage.
