Finally, Mia had reached a large bus parked just outside the house of the lady. Upon getting out of the house, she was full of awe of how beautiful the world was. It was more advanced than her past world. She would have explore around but because of the soldier in front of her, she decided to do that later, maybe when she comes back.
When she entered the bus, she noticed that it was already full of students around sixteen and seventeen years of age. "Perhaps they are having an age mate excursion." Mia thought. She still didn't know where they are taken to, but since she's acting another person, she decided to play along.
She didn't recognize any of the students though, meaning they had all come from a different school. Mia then went to sit at the front of the bus, the only seat that was still available.
One thing is that, she's wondering what the name of the lady is. The system brought up a name called Mia Luck, but Mia is not bearing luck. Her parents name is Darwin so she couldn't be the Luck they are talking about.
"Well, at least it looks like it's only direct sunlight."
The students were all talking to each other in excitement, but that stopped as soon as sergeant Nick came on board.
"Alright, it's time for us to head to the military academy."
' Military Academy? Is it some kind of knight school?' Mia thought.
The bus then started to move and the students were finally on their way. The bus remained silent during the journey. Whenever a student would start to speak, Nick immediately would glare in their direction and the student would shut up.
Nick didn't even have to say anything, they all knew what he wanted just by looking at him.
Then about 10 minutes into the journey Mia once again received another message.
Mia found this message a bit strange. So she start to check out the interior of the bus.
She found out that half of the students were already asleep while the other half were drowsing off. She tried to fight the sleepiness but she felt her body getting heavier. Her eyelids were starting to shut down.
Then she heard the sound of loud footsteps coming towards her. As she looked up she noticed Sergeant Nick hovering above her.
"Looks like a few of you were able to resist the sleeping gas. Guess we'll just have to bag you"
A black bag was then thrown on Mia's head and her vision now was completely covered. The gas started to slowly seep through and Mia, uncontrollably dozed off.
The next moment, Mia felt a splash of cold water being chucked on her face. She was jolted awake, an all she could see was the blue gas.
Mia and several other students started to lift their heads to look around them. There were currently a total of 200 students stood out on a plain open field, but when they looked around they were in a completely foreign place.
"This is where you will spend the next two years of your life."
There were buildings sculpted purely out of glass and with a quick estimation, one stood at least sixty feet tall. The technologies that they are seeing are way too advanced for their time. Even Mia can't help but awe at the buildings and technologies that she saw. If this existed in their own world, Arthur would have been dealt with before now.
Every of the students were all dressed up in a military uniform and they were standing on an elevated platform.
There are flying ships, and levitating trains with wings that would rise high into the sky without a rail. It was a technology that hadn't been given to the outside world yet and was kept for the military only.
After the first war with the Gayas, the humans had managed to make leaps in all sorts of technological fields. This was because they had managed to salvage equipment from the space ships that was captured by the humans from the Gayas after the war, but of course, the military decided to keep most of it for themselves.
When Mia finally stopped being amazed at her surroundings, she noticed that there was something placed around her wrist. It looked similar to a digital watch but there was nothing displayed on the screen.
"That there on your wrist is your lifeline. It will identify you as a student at this military base. It will allow you to access certain areas, pay for food and all sorts of things. That isn't the only thing that it will do though. When not in use, the wristwatch will display a single number. Your power level."
As soon as Mia heard those words, a confused and worried look appeared on her face. She was wondering what this place was, she thought they had come for some kind of excursion but what she is experiencing is not what she had thought of. In the memories of the girl, she couldn't find something about this place. Or maybe she had no idea of what this place was in the first place.
This new world she's in, will she be able to adapt quick with their ways?
She need to know more about this place, so she decided to have a little chat with one of the students. She moved closer to a female who seemed to be standing alone at the back of all other students.
She was reading a newspaper and at the back of the paper that was facing Mia was written ' How the War with the mutants happened and how the world changed because of the war.'
"Hi." Mia wanted to say but felt like it would seem odd. The answer to what she want to ask is what the lady is holding in her hands, maybe if she could just have a peep at what she's reading, she could get some quick answers instead of asking directly.
The only sentence she was able to see was, ' Who are the Mutants'. The female girl had closed the newspaper and without waisting much time, she threw the papers away, walking forward like a zombie.
"She's so weird."
"Okay now, everyone let's go." Nick shouted on top of his voice and all the students left all what they were doing. Mia picked up the newspaper that was thrown away as she kept it safe in the luggage she carried with her.
"With that, we will immediately begin the level test for you all, good luck!" Nick said with a smile on his face.
