Chapter Eight: The Royal Physician

"Mia, why are you like this? Everyone is unhappy because of your strange attitude towards the prince. You should have just kneel down." Hyung Jun said as they were riding on a horse back to the house.
"Brother, Can you tell me how I am to you, mother, father and Ellen. What this place is and who the king and his family members are. I didn't get to know anything about this place while in the village with the old woman." Mia Said.
Kurt sighed, "Well, you are my favourite sister and the most beautiful lady I've ever seen."
"Really? I'm pretty?" Ro Na exclaimed.
"Yes, you're more beautiful than Ellen. You should try and dress more like a lady than a male. You're with us now so no one will be harrassing you." Kurt said.
The old blind woman, who Mia lived with, told her to dress in her son's cloth to avoid being harassed by the village men.
She obeyed and never thought of buying a female dress.
Even when she was escorted to her parents home, she wore the male cloth.
Her mother had to remove the male clothes she had on while she was asleep and replaced it with a new female dress.
Kurt saw the male cloth she wore yesterday, that's why he had challenged her.
"Ah.. yes, I will." Ro Na answered.
"Both mother and father love you so much, even though they didn't show it." Kurt said.
"So brother, are you also married?" Mia asked.
Kurt smiled. "I'm not married." he answered. "But, when the time comes, I will get married."
"Make sure you marry someone as pretty as me. Okay?" Mia said with a smile.
"Okay, I will." Kurt said.
"Thank you for advice. I'm in need of someone I could talk to and you are the very best person I could talk to." Kurt said.
"You can always talk to me anytime you feel lonely. I will always listen to you." Mia Said.
"Thank you very much Mia. let's talk about your sister, Ellen.
She is a kind lady with a gorgeous smile. She's also pretty but not as pretty as you. She loves living in the palace than anything else." Kurt said before whispering into Mia's ear. "I heard she have a crush on the king. She practice everyday on how to be a Queen. She would often dress like a Royal Queen and wear different types of jewelleries.
Hmmn, I don't know much about her but she loves cooking and eating." Mia said and they both laughed.
"So what is this kingdom all about? what's the name of the king and the others." She asked
"The king is King Darwin Jr and this is his fifth year as a ruling king. His queen is Queen Liana. But they don't have any child yet, the Queen is barren.
So, the King planned to have a second wife. The bride selection ceremony will be starting tomorrow and Ellen is among those that will be participating.
"Are you sure the queen is in support of this idea?" Mia asked as she remembered that Liana's father killed her just for Liana to be a Queen.
"Who knows and who cares." Kurt answered.
' I need to stop Ellen before anything bad happens to her. There are dangers lurking around the palace. ' Mia thought.
Immediately, they saw three horses running towards them, they were running so fast.
"Quick, we need to move out of the way." Kurt said almost scared to death.
The horses stopped before Ming could move any further.
"From his Royal Majesty, the king.
Mia has been requested to follow her sister Ellen to the palace as an assistant.
But before she could go, the Royal physician would like to check her health." The announcer announced.
On Kurt's part, he was worried at why the king had requested for Mia to follow Ellen to the palace. ' This is strange.' Kurt thought.
Upon getting home, the doctor escorted Mia inside and Kurt also followed them.
But the other two other men stayed outside.
"What is your name?" the doctor asked.
"Mia." She answered.
The physician asked series of questions and Mia willingly answered everything correctly. Within two to three minutes, the physician was done.
Before the physician could leave, Ellen had came rushing in.
"Physician, why are you examining her?" she asked jealously.
"It is an order from the king." The physician said as he exited the room.
"Ellen, what do you mean by those words? Are you envying your sister over a doctor's treatment??" Kurt said observing the jealousness of Ellen.
"I don't have anything to say to you." She said as she exited the room and head for her room.
Mia tried to catch up with her to explain that the doctor treated her because she'll be following her to the palace.
"Get Out!! I don't want to see you." Hannah cried.
' This sister of mine is still a cry baby ' Ro thought
"Do you also want to be treated? I could request for the royal physician to come again." Mia Said.
"Dumb girl, do you think the physician will come back after completing his task. And, did I tell you that I'm sick? How silly." Ellen replied.
"I'm sorry. I'm just trying to help." Mia said.
"Why did you want to help me? Who do you think you are?" Ellen asked.
"I'm your senior sist.., I mean I'm your sister." Mia held onto her mouth.
"Just get out!" Ellen shouted as she held her chest. "I don't need your help."
Mia quickly exited Ellen's room but she bumped into her parents.
Her father looked at her and placed his hands on her shoulder, "Be a good girl Ellen, I want you to know that I love you so much. I may be angry sometimes but,..You are my favorite daughter." He silently spoke into her ears and gave her a fatherly hug.
Later, he left for the library.
Her mother had a worried look on her face and she drew her inside a room which Mia assumed to be her mother's room.
