Dinner

Master Alpha Alec clenched his hands into fists, and with a low snarl asked in a command tone, "What's your name, where are you from?" "Im Beta Jameson, my lord, from Clan Blackwell. The girl was...is I mean my daughter. I am here to escort the 5 warriors you ever so graciously loaned to my clan to help my Alpha and I train our warriors and recruits to better defend our territory." Alec paused, catching his breath. Never had he seen a man abuse their flesh and blood like that or heard about something like that; not in a very long time. Alec thought about all that he heard and saw. He looked at his men who were ready to rip this man's throat out and possibly start a war. He remembered the smell and how this woman could possibly be his mate. Master Alpha Alec zoned out for a moment, thinking back to some dark days. He heard low growling from his men, and it brought him back in the moment. He looked at the men, the truck, and the pool of blood on the ground. There was a trail that followed her from where she had been carried off. There were many people walking about and looking concerned. Mothers with their children, other men, teenagers on their way to school. Finally, he spoke, "You shall stay for dinner and leave at first light. However, you will only have two warriors instead of five. Consider it a fee for your actions here. If you don't agree to those terms, feel free to leave now, without the girl. Take it or leave it." Before Jameson could say anything, Alec walked away toward the main house. Jameson sighed loudly, and began to follow Master Alpha Alec into the house, when one of the warriors stepped in front of him. "Where do you think you're going, Beta? You shall stay in the guest house. You will be summoned for dinner, and pray that nothing bad has happened to your daughter." Jameson ground his teeth and nodded, not saying a word. He went to the guest house to change his clothes and wait. A guard was stationed outside his door. After dinner, he would call Alpha Nicholson. He was as anxious to report to the alpha with the new terms. As he was being led there, Beta Jameson tried to memorize the way and all that he saw. Unfortunately for him, there wasn't much he was able to take in as it was a short walk to the guest house. He saw mothers walking and children playing, not many warriors though, and that's what concerned him. If he didn't see them, then that meant they were well hidden. He tried to use his wolf senses to expand his sight and get more of a sense as to where the warriors could be. Unfortunately, even using his heightened senses, he wasn't able to sense them. The only way to know where they were would be was to be connected to this clan, which he was not. He went to the window to look outside and see what he could see, but, as usual, his plans were thwarted as there was not only a giant tree in the way, but an equally large man blocking him as well. He could open the window a little and smell and use his wolf's sight to look, but somehow Jameson thought that this wouldn't even work. His Beta senses would do him no good here. It was like there was some kind of masking spell or some other sorcery going on. Beta Jameson opened the window and as he did so the tall man turned around, " Can I help you, Beta?" "No. I was just trying to get a breath of fresh air. Just wanted to see the great Clan Red Moon Territory is all. I've only ever been here for the games," said Beta Jameson. "Well, yeah, I can understand that, but you aren't going to get everything you want. So you may as well just go get ready for dinner, as it will be time to eat soon. Enjoy your evening, Beta Jameson." With that, the tall man turned around, and another warrior came and took his place. Later that evening, everyone was sitting down to eat. Well, almost everyone. The table consisted of Master Alpha Alec, Master Beta Michael, Beta Jameson, and two warriors who were twins. Tall, strong, and identical in their movements. Usually this room would be filled with lots of chatter and noise. Tonight was filled with tension. There were only two women who were serving the meal. Alec had two of his female warriors dressed as servants to see what he and his men could possibly miss. All the men seemed to be picking at their food. Very faintly Alec could smell the sweet scent of her on him. He was mad at himself for being distracted by that smell and not having a name to go with it, or what she looked like. He was more surprised at the thought of him caring about her well-being. He cared about all the people he was responsible for, but he felt there was more to this girl, and he didn't know how he felt about it. Jameson looked around the huge table, recognizing the twins as one of the men that was at his window. "So will it be just the five of us?" "Is that a problem?" asked Beta Michael as he started to eat. He looked at Beta Jameson intently, thinking that there was something odd about this man. Beta Michael was already disgusted about having heard about the incident in the courtyard. The girl being chipped and how it was taken out. Everyone knew the laws that Master Alpha Alec had set forth. It was amazing that Beta Jameson hadn't met an untimely death in those moments. Beta Michael tuned into what this oaf of a man was saying, not really caring but feeling that now was a good time to find out what exactly was going on. "No, I was just wondering where the rest of the clan was. In our clan we eat all together, so it's just different. Not that I mind", Jameson hastily added. Beta Michael : How are things going in your clan? Jameson: Things are OK. Three years ago I lost my wife, Amara, to a rogue attack. We lost many warriors that day and Master Nicholson was gravely injured. Since then, we have become open to attacks. It's been rough. Michael: I heard that your wife died protecting some defenseless kids, didn't she? I am sorry for the loss of your mate. Jameson: No, she got all the kids to safety. Our daughter, Angeline, was the one she was protecting. Stupid child. In defending Angeline and protecting her, Amara took out 4 rouges, but got distracted and was killed for her efforts. She should just have let the girl die. I was fighting in another area and I couldn't get to her in time. She was the love of my life and she died. I felt her die. It was torture. Alec looked up at hearing Jameson saying her name, Angeline, our mate. Angeline our love, said his wolf excitedly. Alec quickly put his wolf in his mind's cage to keep him at bay. Alec looked directly at Jameson as he said her name, blocking everything out as he listened to Jameson spew his venomous hate toward his daughter. "So you hate her? Your daughter? Also, please be careful as to how you answer." Jameson took a deep breath knowing he was about to risk a deal with his alpha, but his anger got the better of him. "That cur got her killed, Got my beloved Amara, my mate killed. Of course, I blame her. Why shouldn't I? Angeline went from being safe to being in the middle of it, and as such Amara risked all to protect her."
