A Birthday Gift

I woke up early this morning so I can get everything done and head to the mall with Alicia today. She is so excited to go and get more clothes. Shake my head remembering her asking me the other day and how happy she was when I said I would go. I giggle to myself as I continue work around the floor cleaning and making breakfast for my family. I am almost done with everything. When I finish up and head to get dressed to go out. When I get to my room, I throw on some jeans and a light blue t-shirt. I threw my hair up into a half ponytail and made sure my curls look ok. I put light makeup and lip gloss on. I headed over to Alicia's so we could get going. I walk up her porch and go to knock on her door. She popped right out before I was able to reach up and knock.

"Hey girl, are you ready to get our shopping on?" she laughed. "Yea let's get going, we have hours of fun to have." I laughed at her.

We got to the mall and headed to Starbucks, first I ordered a large mango raspberry refresher and Alicia got a large java chip with no whip cream. As we wait for our drinks we start talking about the party tonight and who we think will be the next Luna. If she is from our pack or if she will be from another pack. As we talk about it, I keep getting a weird feeling like someone is watching. I slowly look around to see who is staring at me. It's almost giving me the creeps. I keep looking but don't see anything. I just shrug it off and continue our conversation. "I think he will get someone from another pack; he has never shown interest in anyone from our pack. I don't even think he's ever dated anyone. The girls all hang all over a specially Chelse. I am pretty sure she wants to be Luna. The way she hangs on his every word and is always hanging on his arm. It's disgusting to watch how desperate she is." I say with a chuckle.

"I totally agree with you. Now that we have our drinks let's go find a sexy dress for tonight!?" Alicia says with excitement.

"Correction, let's go find you a sexy dress. I don't have the money and I don't really want to go. What, to go hang out with a bunch of people who don't care for me and like to make my life a living h**l. No thanks but let's go find something that you look good in." I say to her, she gives me a frowny face and says to me, "no we are going to go find us dresses. My mom asked me to take you and get a beautiful dress and anything else you need. Her treat to you and an early birthday present so to speak for you. So let's go shopping!" She says with a sheepish smile. She dragged me to a dress store and we ran around and graved about 10 dresses each that we liked to try on.

She wanted me to go first. I went in and tried on the first dress. It was pretty, it was light purple with small beads throughout the fabric. It had a V-neck and thick over the shoulder straps. I stepped out and Alicia said no it was not the dress for me. The next several dresses were all nice but not me. I tried on the last dress. It's a full length dress, it has a slit up the left side to just above the knee. It is a silky light baby blue dress with thin straps. It has an intricate floral design with little white beads in the middle of each flower. It has a sweetheart neckline and it fits all the right curves. It was like the dress was made for me. I stepped out of the changing room to show Alicia. When she looked up from her phone her mouth dropped to the floor. “What, is it that bad?” I asked, now feeling self conscious. Maybe it wasn’t as beautiful of a dress as I thought.

“Oh wow Keri, that dress is amazing on you! After I pick out my dress we should go find the perfect shoes.” She says with aww in her voice. After another twenty minutes Alicia finds her dress. We head over to pay for our dresses so we can go to a shoe shop and see if we can find something to go with our dresses. Alicia found her shoes at the first store. I ended up finding mine at the third store. I chose gladiator flat sandals with the same color wrap around my leg as the dress. I am kind of excited about my whole outfit now, and am excited about the party tonight.

“Alright it’s one o’clock now why don’t we go find some food then head home and get ready for the party tonight.” Alicia says.

Right when she says that my stomach makes a growling noise. “Yea I think it is time to eat. Apparently I am starving.” I giggle at her. We headed to go eat and then left to go get ready.
