I have been watching her for the last month now and I don't know why she intrigues me so much? She has never even crossed my mind before. I feel a pull to her put i have no idea why. My birthday is this coming Saturday! I can't wait! I will be turning 18 and will possibly find my mate. My parents are bringing in other packs to celebrate my birthday. I am almost dreading that part of my day.

The bell rang for our last class as I headed out to find the guys to head home. Something catches my eye. I stopped and turned to look at what it was. I could only see the back of her. She had long, big natural curly brown hair nice and curves all in the right places. I don't think I have seen her before. If only I could get a good look at her front but as she starts to turn around Luca was in front of my face.

"Hey man, are you ready for your birthday this weekend!? I like celebration parties. Can you imagine all those girls that will be there! You are one lucky dude. Even if you don't find your mate, you can always take one of the she-wolves home." He wiggles his eyebrows at me.

"Hey man, I told you before I was waiting for my mate. I don't want that kind of trouble when she comes along. We all know that you're the player that likes to have fun with all the she-wolves." I said with a slight irritation, and I tried to look around him for that girl. As I looked around I saw that she has disappeared. D**n it, I wanted to know who she was. Now I'm just miserable.

We headed out to go to the pack house to grab a snack and head to the training grounds to spare. I can't wait till next Saturday I get to finally shift into my wolf. Shaking my head to clear it of all the thoughts, I started to spare Luca. We get in our fighting stance and he starts to walk around me trying to figure out when to attack. I stood there just watching and waiting for him to make a move. He charged towards me and I stepped to the side at the last minute and quickly spun around and knocked his feet out from under him and then came up quickly and slammed his head into the ground. I'm still so mad from earlier that I forget we have just been practicing. After I slammed his head on the ground, it started bleeding, and he was dazed. "Oh Lucas, I am so sorry I did that. Here, take my hand, I will help you up and take you to the hospital. James, I need you to get over here and help me take him to the hospital." He came rushing over.

"Dude, what did you do? We need to get to the hospital quickly." We ran holding him on each side, making it in record time. We burst into "We need a doctor here now!"

The doctor headed over and had us follow him to a room. "Put him on his side, so I can look at his head." The doctor said, We stood there while the doctor worked and a nurse came in to help him. "It's not bad, no damage to the skull, it's just a deep laceration. Which is why he is bleeding so badly. I will numb it and stitch him up. I need you two to step outside please.”

We walked out and James asked "What happened, Hunter? You never lose control like that."

"Man, I don't know what happened out there. It was like I was in a trance or something. I saw the blood, and it snapped me out of it." I ran my hand through my hair as we sat there, and I wondered what the hell happened. The Doctor came out before I could think any further on the subject. "How is he doing?" I asked.

"He is OK, Alpha, the blood has stopped, and he is awake. He should be healed by morning." He said. "Ok thank you doctor. Can we go in now?" He nods and walks off.

James and I walked back in the room and the dumb f**k was sitting there staring at us like we had two heads. "Hey guys how's it hanging?" "What type of medicine did they give you to make you act like this!?" James asked. "I'm not on meds, I am just messing with you guys. Hunter, I am good, I promise it's already starting to heal.”

"I am sorry I didn't mean to do that to you. I don't know where my mind was. It was like I was seeing red and nothing would stop me." He sighed in defeat.

"It's OK man let's get out of here and go get dinner I'm starving", Lucas states.

"You're always a hungry man. OK, let's go you knucklehead. One more day to make it through, and then we get to party up!!" he laughs out loud, now wondering how Saturday is going to go.

We made it back to the pack house for dinner. Our families are already there starting to eat. We take our seats around the table with our families. I sat next to my mother. "Hey mom and dad." I smiled at them. I love my parents, they are great. They have taught me so much. I have been training since I was 10, and I have been taught to believe in the moon goddess, and she will make sure everything will be alright.

"Hey Hunter, are you ready for Saturday? It's a big day for you. I hope, with everyone that will be at your party, you will be able to find your mate. It's important that you find your mate and our future Luna. She will help you run the pack and insure their safety. Are you excited about meeting her?" My mother asked with excitement.

"I'm excited to finally meet my wolf. I am not really excited about the party and as for my mate, if I meet her tomorrow, then great. If not, I will eventually. I just hope she is kind, thoughtful and strong to help me lead our pack." I say as I sit there eating, wondering what she will look like.
