아홉 번째 왕관 “Goongju-mama. Crown Prince Yi Eul accepted your dinner appointment with him.” The Princess, Princess Chae Rin which is Prince Yi Eul's aunt looked at her secretary as she stopped fanning herself. “Are you sure you’re ready to see the Crown Prince, Your Highness?” “The audacity of you questioning my decision,” Princess Chae Rin said with authority dripping in her voice. “Joesonghamnida, mama.” “You don't have to worry,” the princess took a sip of her tea as she smirked at her Royal Secretary. “Because it's time for Prince Yi Eul to reunite with his cousin.” “Why the heck you're still not here?! Do you want to get punish, huh, Kim Jae Kyung?” Jae Kyung rolled her eyes as she hurriedly walked out of her apartment. The Crown Prince just called her on the phone and impatiently talking to her. Pfft. As if you'll punish me. You're the one who hired me so it’s your loss if you'll punish or fire me, you arrogant of a prince. “I have something to take care of in my apartment, you know? I'll be there in minutes.” “Oh, you're now talking to His Royal Highness in an informal speech, huh? And what something? Is that really important than His Royal Highness himself?” she could hear the annoyance in the Crown Prince's voice. “Uh, yeah? Because if I will not go and pay my rent? I might get kicked out,” Jae Kyung shrugged. Before the Crown Prince could speak, Jae Kyung interrupted him. “And I know you are the one who gave me salary since, you know, you're my boss but I don’t want to rely on my roommate so I need to pay for the rent as well.” A moment of silence engulfed the other line. It took seconds for the Crown Prince to respond. “You’re unbelievable.” “I know.” “And you’re talking back to His Royal Highness.” “Joesonghamnida, jeonha,” Jae Kyung responded in a monotone voice, which for some reason, Prince Yi Eul was already used to it. Jae Kyung frowned when she noticed that there's something wrong in the alley. Someone’s bullying someone. “Come here. You have work to do—" “Yes, Your Highness but I might be late because I have something to take care of. Annyeong!” “Hey, you—!” before the Crown Prince could finish his sentence, Jae Kyung hung up and proceeds to walk towards the said alley. She hid on the post nearby and saw five people bullying a guy. The guy looked rich and sophisticated. But looks weak. “He looked rich, boss. Maybe he still has something luxurious up his sleeves.” “Boy, just give us everything you got there.” “I…” the boy uttered. “I already give you my phone, my watch, and all my money. I don’t have anything to give you anymore.” The bad guys laughed evilly at him. “C’mon boy. You don’t want to die, right? So just give us everything you have there.” “How many times do I have to tell you that I already gave you my watch, my phone, and my money. Are you blind?” The bad guys looked at him in shock and their boss couldn’t help but scoff as he massaged his knuckles. “Do you want to die that much, huh?” Oh, no! Before the boss could punch the guy, Jae Kyung hastily took her phone and whistle from her bag and whistle as loud as she could. The five bad guys perked their heads up and looked around. She whistled once again and this time, she played the Police Car siren sound she downloaded from YouTube. “The cops! Scram!” The bad guys stormed out of the alley without leaving a trace. Jae Kyung hurriedly went to the poor boy who's now holding his side while leaning on the wall. “Hey, are you okay?” she asked as she gently tapped his arm. The guy's eyes settled on the whistle dangling on her wrist. “You’re the one who made a whistle?” Jae Kyung looked at her whistled then looked back at the guy. “Ah, yes. I don’t have anyone to ask for help so I just whistle.” “A-And the Police Car siren?” “Ah, it's from my phone. I downloaded it from YouTube,” the guy didn’t ask again so Jae Kyung asked him again. “Are you okay?” “Y-Yes, I'm okay.” Jae Kyung raised her head up when she saw the guy giving back her phone. They're currently sitting at the bus stop waiting for a bus and the guy's family driver. “Did you call your driver?” she asked. The guy nodded and smiled at her. “Yeah. He's going to fetch me here. Thank you for lending me your phone.” “Oh, it's nothing. Hahaha.” “And… I just want to thank you for saving me earlier. You're really brave to do such a thing,” a warm smile flaunted on the guy's face as Jae Kyung couldn’t help but stare at him in awe. Wow, he's so handsome. So good-looking. “Oh, no. I just did the right thing in situations like that. It's such a shame that we didn’t manage to retrieve your money, your watch, and your phone,” said Jae Kyung. The guy shook his head and smiled at her. “It’s nothing. I'm more thankful of you saving me and I didn’t get any injuries from those guys than losing all my money.” Jae Kyung stared at him in awe once again. Wow, aside from he's good-looking, he's also has a good attitude. He's more like a prince that I usually read in fairytales Unlike the person that I knew. Before she could say anything, she saw someone approaching them. “Young master,” the guy's family driver, she assumed, approached them and bowed. “I’m sorry for being late and I'm sorry that I didn’t fetch you on time.” Jae Kyung couldn’t help but blink while looking at the two gentlemen in front of her. Wait, what? Young Master? So my hunch is right, he's a rich kid indeed. The guy just smiled at his driver and tapped his shoulder. “It’s okay,” he, then, gestured Jae Kyung. “This lady actually accompanied me.” The driver bowed at Jae Kyung but because the lass is too shocked to respond, she just gave the older an awkward bow. “Shall we go, Young Master?” The guy looked at her. “Are you going somewhere? Maybe I could take you there.” Jae Kyung was really tempted to accept the offer because she's already aware that she's late but she's a good human being, she humbly declined the offer. “No, no, Mister. It's okay. I could just—oh, look! The bus is here!” “Are you sure you'll not gonna let us take you?” Jae Kyung shook her head and smile. “No, it's okay, Mister.” The guy smiled at her in response. “Okay, then Miss…” “Jae Kyung!” she gasped when she noticed that her voice sounded so enthusiastic so she cleared her throat and smile. “Kim Jae Kyung.” The guy gave her a handsome, warm smile at her. “Lee Ryeo.” “Lee Ryeo,” she repeated with a smile. Darn, even his name is handsome as well. “Til we meet again, Miss Jae Kyung.”
