It’s good that there were some of my clothes left in Michael’s house since the last visit. I change to human. Guys do the same. Mick lends Gabriel his clothes. Then we all sit down on the living room. Clearly, a long conversation awaits. It is started by Michael:
“Why are you here?” He asks coldly.
" Because I have a lot to say to you. Don’t think I came here at their command. I’m pretty sure if the wolves found out I was here, they would kill me."
"If you have a lot to tell me, then why did you come to her at first," - he shows with his head to me.
" Because it's related to all three of us. You were right in choosing a path to fight against those to whom I contributed, but you don’t know the whole story. You don’t know the real reason."
Mick looks at Gabriel reproachfully.
" And what was the "real" reason?"
" They thought that if they succeeded in forcing me to become one of the werewolves rather than defenders like you, then I would eventually become like them and be a great weapon. And only recently did they realize how much they were wrong. Understand - I can’t go against my nature. My only murder in their favor is your dog. By the way, I really regret that"
"I don't understand something," Michael interrupts. - You killed your parents, too. Wasn’t that in their favor?"
" - I didn't kill them. The werewolves just wanted you to think that way and start hating me. They did it themselves and made me play. They knew you didn’t make much of a scent yet because you’re brand new and the scent won’t give you anything".
" But that means you let them kill your parents."
" You think they asked me? When I got home I found my parents laying with their throats ripped opened and werewolves standing around them all bloody. I wanted to attack the killers, but then one of those turned to the man and said that if I didn’t become one of the bad guys, they would kill all the people close to me. And not only mine - the guy raises his eyes significantly - they would have killed all your relatives as well, because he knew that I could not endure the pain of another person, let alone your pain."
Mick remained silent after this story, clearly not knowing what to do next. I didn’t know that either. Should we believe all this? Or is it just a horrible deception? But all the feelings on Gabriel's face as he told his story seemed so real ...
“Why should I believe you?” Michael finally breaks the silence.
"Just give it a try. I ran away from them to warn you. Werewolves unite and prepare to destroy the guardians. As far as I know these are you."
"But won't your escape hurt yours or mine loved ones? After all, according to your story, that should happen."
"If I hadn't been sure it wouldn't have happened, I probably wouldn't have run. Excessive risk. But they saw no benefit in me. And they will by no means believe that I dared to flee to you. And in three we can already do much more. I want to contribute to you. Be that as it may, I am also the guardian."
"Maybe I'm very wrong, but I don't think he's lying. We should give him a chance "- I am joining this conversation for the first time.
Mickey grabs his head.
" I don't know. I really do not know. If you think so ... Let it be."
"Thank you. I hope we can be friends again someday "- I see a sincere desire and hope in Gabriel's eyes.
Only now do I realize that the guy is pretty handsome like Michael. Although he is completely different.
Gabriel's hair is black, his eyes are green like emeralds. He’s quite tall and muscular, though Mike, by the way, too. Apparently this is common to all guardians. For myself, my muscles hurt since yesterday’s run.
Can I ask you something?” I suddenly turn to the Black wolf.
" Ask. If I can I will answer."
" Well, I'm just curious. Although I might not have to ask that. Where do you live when you are not a wolf? After all, your parents are probably dead and they don't have a home anymore ..."
" You see is such a thing - none of the werewolves have a home. They either kill their parents or deny them. As a result, they quite rarely change back to people and all have one common house. There they hold meetings and keep clothes. And feed on catching live food. I was the only one who was often human, attended school. I didn’t want to be an uneducated killer like them."
My curiosity is satisfied. It’s really quite interesting to learn about the life traits of those other wolves, but I really wouldn’t want to be one of them. I prefer to have a real home and parents.
“When are they planning to attack us?” Michael asks seriously.
"The exact date has not yet been decided, but they will wait for the right opportunity after the new year. At least in the past, he wanted to attack you in the middle of January, and until then, try not to show up to think that the surroundings are already calm. ""And why not before the new year?"
Believe it or not, but they celebrate new years. They change to people, buy alcohol and apparently feed on people’s food only once a year, not on their pray."
"Well, if they celebrate, we will celebrate," Michael smiles.
It’s weird to me that from a completely serious point of view, he manages to get fun so quickly. I notice a happiness in his eyes. I’m sure - the guy is extremely happy to learn that a friend didn’t really betray him and now they can be friends again.
In fact, I was also happy. I remember that grief in Michael’s eyes when he told me the day before about his first days being a werewolf. Plus, three will definitely be easier.
Suddenly I notice a calendar. It can not be.
“Is it December 31st tomorrow?” I ask in surprise.
"Yes," Michael smiles, "and we'll be able to celebrate it. Well, not like those others. I mean bad werewolves. At least I really don’t want to drink alcohol, even though it’s may be old-fashioned, but I invite you to come anyway. You can also invite your parents. We would make a party."
"I think it would be a lot of fun," I smiled.
"And Gabriel could live here for at least some time," Mick continued. "You have nowhere to go now?"
"Yes, but I don't want to burden you. During those couple years of living with them, I got used to living like a simple wolf. Staying outside would not really cause me any inconvenience either."
" What are you talking about here now? Do you think I will let you get cold outside in the winter like a homeless dog? Dream On. You will stay here."
Now a smile shines on the faces of both guys. After that time, they can be friends again. And only now do I realize that I don’t even know how old they are. Michael said they began to be able to turn to wolves at the age of thirteen, and Gabriel now hinted that he had lived with werewolves for a couple of years. So, they should be around fifteen.
“Are you fifteen now?” I break the silence.
"Fifteen what?" smiles the black wolf.
"Your age?," I smiled. Surprisingly, during this time we all started to communicate in a friendly way and with smiles on our faces.
"Yes. So far it's fifteen. And you're thirteen?"
"Yup"
It's get silent again. I decide it’s time for me to go home. I say goodbye to the guys and leave. It’s really weird that I feel so free and good with them. I usually find it quite uncomfortable to interact with new, unfamiliar people. Well, but apparently we’re now like a pack of three wolves. Our nature unites us. I think it’s stronger than any shyness or anything like that.
I sigh happily. At least for now, everything looks just amazing. The fantastic elements that have emerged give new colors and vitality to everything in my life. I guess I’ve never even been as happy as I am now. Everything in me is filled. I obey my nature and everything in myself. Good.
