Chapter 1- My Family°
Green Woods Street, Oakwood City Sometimes in April It was a fine afternoon here at Green Woods Oakwood City, from Loy Town we moved here and it's been five months now. Me and my twin sister are very much excited. Yes, I have a twin sister, her name is Suri and I am Yuri. Early this morning we received a notification on our Email. We've got good news for Mom and Dad. I'm pretty sure they will love this. I don't want to spill the bean yet. "Hey, sis, back off!" I commanded. She's about to open our parents' room. She looks more excited than me. "Duh! What's with you girl?" Suri asked irritatedly. I stood up facing her. "We have to wait for Dad to come home, don't you dare tell Mom." "And what made you think that I will tell her? It's a surprise, I know right! Tsh, whatever!" She rolled her eyes and looked at me in pissed. "I'm warning you, Suri Last, do it or I'll shove you!" I intend to threaten her but she got used to me so there's no way to frighten her anymore. She moved backward and shrugged her shoulder. "That might make sense." "Oh, come on, dear. I know you can't do that and I won't take it as a warning. It's more of a big joke!" An uncertain smile brushed the corners of her lips. "You got me there, sis," she says. Her eyebrows rose lazily. I gave her an expressionless look. I believe she was not about to reveal our secret yet. "I can tell that you are getting tired and you look so sleepy. Just leave everything to me, honey." Mom approaches Dad with enthusiasm. She's always like that, full of energy. "Thanks, sweety! My day at the bakeshop is too tiring. I have to unload tons of cookies to meet its demand on the market," said Dad. He unlocked the button of his shirt and sat on the couch reluctantly. "Dad!" I can't help but intervene, It feels like I don't exist so I make my move for me to recognize. "Oh! Yuri, my baby, come on." Dad glanced over me, suppressing a quiver of amusement in his voice. I think I deserve a kiss and hug from my children as a reward." He extended his arms and waited for me to come to him. A big hug to him for being a good provider, a loving father, and a faithful husband to Mom. We live a simple life. Dad is a baker and he does the best cookies in town. People in Green Woods love him. Mom stayed at home and took care of us. She's the best in everything and I admire her so much. I looked up at her. She cooks delicious foods that we cannot compare not even in any fancy restaurants. She does all the household chores perfectly and at the end of the day doing those stuff, I wonder how did she manage to stay cool and pretty? "Where is Suri?" Dad asked while his eyes roam around the house. I shook my head. "I don't know, Dad!" "Oh my... I told her not to go outside when it's late at night, it's too dangerous!" Mom looked so worried. Why is she acting so weird? She seems to be overprotective of something nowadays. She's not like that back in Loy Town. I think she's hiding something from us. I close my eyes and concentrate, I have this capability to see my sister, I can sense her even if she is from afar. I don't know where we got this but I remembered when we were fifteen years old in our school camp, she just left from behind and she was nowhere to find and my eagerness to find her is absurd. And It all started there. "She's in the garden, Mom." I can see her from my vision, talking to the flowers and laughing out loud with them. I can hear those responding to her, laughing and giggling as well. Gosh! Is she crazy? I shook my head in disbelief. "Hey, girl, what's up with you? Dad's here already, you should come over," I said. Talking to each other using our minds has been normal for us for almost four years now. "Yeah! Give me a minute, sis," she answered back. Weird things have happened to us lately. We discovered unexplainable things, but we kept this to Mom and Dad because we don't know if they can handle this out-of-this-world experience that's happening to us right now. It's freaking me out. I can't say I got used to it but one thing I'm sure of, is I'm beginning to like it. - "Mom, Dad we made it!" Suri exclaimed. I gave her the privilege to speak up for the two of us. "We passed the entrance exam at Oakwood University." She finally burst out the good news. "Really!" Mom was so shocked she wasn't expecting this nor did Dad. Well, we do it on purpose. We didn't tell them about taking an exam at OU (Oakwood University) anyway. They seem to be worried about our future and with our status in life, they are not capable to bring us to university at the same time. That's why we pursue ourselves to study harder even during our vacation and we made it, the fruits of our labor, we passed the entrance exam plus the best of it is. "And one more thing, you don't have to worry about our tuition fees anymore, the school granted our request to be their scholar," I added. Dad's eyes are wide open. He really can't believe it. "That was great! We're so proud of you my babies." He hugs us in excitement and mom almost cried. "I thank God for giving me a very loving, understanding, and obedient child. You two are the best thing that ever happened to me and of course after marrying your Dad. Having a beautiful family like this is worth the fight." "Ooh! You're being too emotional, sweetheart. Beautiful things that happened to us are all because of you, you bring the light to this family." "Come on, sweety, we'll give you a hug," Dad says. He extended his right arm for Mom. 'Oh, I love this family!" I exclaimed. In the middle of our group hug, I burst out. "Ha... ha...ha! I love you more, my angels!" Dad uttered. Seeing my parents happy is priceless.
