Yuri's POV As I climbed out of bed, the tempting aroma of Mom's cooking reached my nose. Curiosity piqued, I slipped on my slippers and made my way to the kitchen. To my surprise, I found a beautifully arranged spread of Eggs Benedict, Pancakes with Maple Syrup, Clam Chowder, and Barbeque Ribs on the table. The food smelled and looked incredibly delicious. "How was your sleep, sweetie?" Mom asked, glancing at me briefly before returning to her tasks of setting the table with plates, spoons, and forks. "Pretty good, Mom!" I replied, feeling energized and ready for the day. "And what about your sister?" she inquired. "I wonder, Suri is still in bed. She's probably dreaming about her prince charming again—I heard her whispering names," I chuckled. I was just joking, but for some reason, Mom took it seriously. "Well, I wouldn't mind if she happens to find her prince charming. After all, you'll be turning eighteen soon, and teenagers like you should experience what it's like to be in love," Mom remarked. "Oh, Mom! How can you be so cool?" I exclaimed. "Just take it as inspiration. It's important to know your priorities and limitations too," she encouraged. I helped Mom by adding glasses to the table. "And what about you? Have you already found your prince charming?" Mom teased, looking at me with a mischievous smile. I shook my head in disbelief. "Mom... I have plans for myself, but having a boyfriend is not on my list," I explained. "Hmm! It's good to hear that," she nodded and winked at me. Huh... She's so unbelievable! _ Oakwood University "I'll see you after class, sis!" Suri waved her hand and began walking against my direction. It was our first day at school, and I had no idea what the future held for us at Oakwood University. As I looked around at all the people, it felt like I had entered a different dimension. The students here were exceptionally gifted in terms of physical appearance. Lost in my thoughts, I accidentally bumped into someone. "Oh... ooh!" "Hey, what's wrong with you? Are you blind?" a voice with an arrogant tone asked. The owner of the voice caught my curiosity, and I scanned him from head to toe. Oh my goodness! Is this real? Am I dreaming or something? I was completely captivated. He was incredibly good-looking. This jerk wrinkled his brow and said mockingly, "Hey, newbie. No idiots allowed here!" He looked at me with disgust, then smirked. Tsk! He's so mean. Calling me an i***t is unacceptable. "What did you just call me?" I asked, irritated. I tried my best to put on a fake smile and be nice to him, but deep down, I wanted to punch him right in his perfect face. Ugh! How can he be so handsome? He confidently smiled back at me. Goodness, I can't stand looking at him like that. Damn! This man infuriates me. As if accidentally bumping into him was some kind of crime. "It's not my fault. It was an accident!" I defended myself against him. "Whatever!" he shrugged his shoulders, scanning me from head to toe. "Just a piece of advice, if you want to survive here at OU, you should learn to respect the school's highnesses." "Huh! Care to tell me who the school's highnesses are?" I mockingly asked. He stared straight into my eyes. I raised an eyebrow and smirked. I didn't want to give him any reason to humiliate me again. "It's for you to find out!" he said, walking past me. After a few steps, he suddenly stopped as if he had forgotten something. He turned around to face me. "By the way, you seem so stiff and fearless. I like your attitude," he said, laughing at me. After those words, he left as if nothing had happened. Laughing out loud, huh! Tsk. Whatever. _ Two days had passed. Life at university wasn't easy. I couldn't deny the existence of discrimination within this school. "Give them way! The Kings and Queens of OU are coming!" a tall guy shouted. Students panicked, quickly vacating the corridor and moving to the edges. Huh! What's happening? Kings and Queens? What the hell is that? I watched as they approached, and my curiosity grew. I turned to the girl next to me, who wore thick glasses, and asked, "Who are they?" "Oh, oh! You don't know them?" she looked surprised. I shook my head. "They are the School's Highnesses. You should know them before entering this school, or you'll be in big trouble!" she warned, trying to instill fear in me. "Huh, that's ridiculous!" I exclaimed. "Shh... keep quiet, they're coming." She tapped my right hand and motioned for me to bow my head. I followed her instructions, even though I didn't understand why. The group of highnesses passed by us. When they were gone, I stood up and faced them from behind. "The Queens are bullies. Once they target you, there's no escaping. Be careful; there's no way out!" It was more advice than a warning. "Thanks! I'll keep that in mind. By the way, my name is Yuri," I introduced myself, extending my right arm to shake hands. She accepted my handshake immediately. "Carol. My name is Carol. It was nice meeting you, Suri!" "Same here." I smiled at her; she seemed kind, and I liked her. "I have to go now, Suri. My first class is about to start." She waved and walked away. "See you around, Carol." She paused, nodded, then continued on her way to the Business Administration Building. Just a friendly tip, if you want to thrive at OU, it's essential to show respect towards the school's highnesses. I remembered the arrogant but incredibly handsome guy I had bumped into two days ago and his words of advice. He was one of them. One of the school highnesses. Oh, crap! What should I do? Wait! Why should I be afraid of them? We're all students here, paying tuition fees. Who gave them the power to rule this school, anyway? That's right! Suri Last, you're the strongest and bravest of them all. There's no room for fear. You don't have to be threatened by those titles. "School Highnesses!" Tsk... Pathetic! I continued my studies as if nothing had happened. I refuse to allow fear to overpower me. If I aspire to complete my education, I must exhibit courage. I am aware that I am just at the beginning and that I will encounter many challenges in this school. If I excel in my studies, I'm sure I can surpass all of this. What's important now is that I maintain the scholarship I have, it's a big help for our family.
