Quietly, Mandy made sure the boys got inside their house before she headed down the path toward her cottage. Nervously, she inhaled a deep breath and then she smiled. She was happy that she and Kevin were together as a couple now.
Mandy couldn't have been happier, she thought, as she looked at her cottage next to the ugly wall. She couldn't wait till she graduated, she was leaving this place. Quietly, she crawled into her bedroom window and suddenly the light flicked on. Mandy swallowed hard. Immediately, she knew she was in trouble.
"Where have you been, young lady!" Braun, her father, asked sternly.
Cautiously, Mandy turned and looked at her parents. She knew she had to come up with something believable and quickly.
"I went out for a run in the forest. I hate being cooped up all the time. I had to run and get some air. My boyfriend and I had a fight at school,” lied Mandy, as she looked at them with sad eyes.
She could tell her mother Lynn bought her lies. Cautiously, Lynn touched Braun's shoulder gently.
"Come on, she is safe now,” she said, softly.
Mandy couldn't stand the fact that her mother bowed down to her father. It wasn't right. Braun didn't budge and stared at his daughter angrily.
"You need to let us know when you leave this house, especially at night! It is very dangerous out there!" yelled her father.
There was a tone in his voice that made Mandy want to obey, but she fought against the feeling. Mandy sighed in frustration as she felt her anger rise and start to boil her blood. Mandy straightened and stared at her father with a challenging look.
"Like what, dad? Those werewolf things? Is that what you're worried about? Or are you referring to humans? Remember, I go to school with a bunch of humans, and they are by far from dangerous!" Mandy growled loudly.
Suddenly, Lynn and Braun stared at their daughter in shock as they took a cautious step back. Braun shook his head and straightened.
"Enough!" he growled angrily.
At that moment, Mandy felt the command feeling and fought against it again. She watched as her mother as she cowarded. Mandy didn't budge, she stood her ground and glared at her father.
"No dad, that is enough from you!" she snarled, angrily.
All of a sudden, she felt very powerful at that moment, and she liked it. Braun and Lynn were surprised as a shock wave of terror ripped through their bodies and they submissively back up a couple more steps. They were almost in the hallway now.
"How do you have an alpha ability? I am your father!" Braun angrily snapped.
Mandy scoffed at him. With her newfound ability, she didn't care about what her parents or anyone else had to say. Mandy grabbed the windowsill.
"I'm not sure, why don't you ask your precious beast that you care so much about!" Mandy growled and slipped out of the window.
Braun and Lynn looked at each other, worried.

Mandy ran down the path, crying. She ran to Joseph and Damian's house.
What was happening to her? How did she have control over her parents like she did?
Thoughts rolled around in her head as she passed the living room window. She noticed that the light was on, and she could hear voices. Angry voices of worried parents. It was her Uncle Andrew and Aunt Cara's voices, yelling at the boys.
"Where were you boys? We have been worried sick!"
Mandy heard her aunt's voice exclaim.
Damn, they got caught too? Mandy thought, as she felt instantly guilty.
After all, it was her fault that her cousins were in trouble. It was her idea. Luckily enough, she had time to save them. Mandy ran to their front door as fast as she could and banged on it.
"Who could it be at this hour?" Mandy heard her aunt ask.
Andrew shrugged his shoulders and walked over to the door. He pulled the door open and his eyes widened.
"Amanda! What are you doing here at this hour?" Andrew exclaimed, and he put his hand on her shoulder, led her into the house, and closed the door.
Joseph and Damian looked at her in question. Mandy looked at her aunt and uncle and tears flowed down her cheeks.
"I had a fight with my parents!" she cried, as tears ran down her cheeks.
Andrew and Cara looked at each other and back at Mandy. Cara took Mandy in her arms lovingly.
"What happened?" she asked, softly, as she tucked a strand of Mandy's hair behind her ear.
"I had an argument with my boyfriend at school and decided to go for a run. I asked the boys to come with me. It's my fault that they were out so late. I just feel free when I'm running in the forest on all fours," Mandy lied.
She hoped that her aunt and uncle believed her. She didn't want her cousins in trouble. Cara squeezed Mandy's shoulders and Andrew turned to Joseph and Damian.
"Is this true?" he asked firmly.
The boys looked at Mandy and back at their father.
"Yes, sir,” said Joseph, and Damian nodded.
Joseph and Damian couldn't believe how Mandy could lie so easily and get their parents to believe her. If they lied to their parents, Andrew and Cara knew instantly. Mandy looked up at her aunt and wiped her nose with the back of her hand.
"Can I stay here with you guys tonight?" she asked.
Andrew and Cara looked at each other and Andrew nodded. Cara looked at her and smiled.
"Of course, dear. You know you always have your bedroom here,” she said with a smile.
Her aunt and uncle had given Mandy her own bedroom when she was younger. She spent many nights with them ever since she was a child.

Once Andrew and Cara knew for sure that the kids were going to stay out for the evening, Cara called her sister-in-law. She wanted to let Lynn and Braun know that their daughter was safe and over at their house.
"Hi Cara, is everything alright?" asked Lynn when she answered the phone.
She sounded like she had been crying.
"I called to see if you were alright, and that Amanda is safe. She is staying with us for the night,” said Cara, with a reassuring tone.
"Oh, thank you,” said Lynn, relieved her daughter was safe.
"I think she just needs a little space. She said that you guys had a fight?" asked Cara.
"I'm glad my daughter went to you. I don't know my daughter anymore,” sobbed Lynn.
Heavily, Cara sighed. This was a typical teenage girl with extra hormones.
"She is turning into a normal teenager. You are going to have arguments and disagreements. That's how it is,” said Cara.
She was trying to encourage Lynn to stop being so hard on herself. Cara heard Lynn blow her nose.
"I didn't even know she had a boyfriend. I didn't even know she was into boys,” said Lynn, as she sniffed. Cara took a breath and let it go.
"Lynn, please take a deep breath. We will figure this out together."
"Thank you, dear sister,” said Lynn.
She sounded like she had started to calm down.
"That's what family is for,” said Cara, and she hung up the phone.
She felt a sense of pride as she followed Andrew to the bedroom. They taught their boys the value of family and morals. The boys really took it to heart and believed in morals. Cara smiled proudly as she drifted off to sleep.

"Great performance! You should really go to Hollywood and become an actress."
Mandy looked up and Joseph and Damian were standing at her door.
"Part of it was only a performance," Mandy sighed, as she lay on her back and stared at the ceiling.
She sighed a deep sigh, and Joseph and Damian looked at each other with concern.
"What's wrong?" asked Joseph, as he looked back at her.
Mandy swayed her head from side to side.
"I have the ability to control my parents like I'm an alpha!" she cried.
"What's happening to me?"
She started to sob. Lovingly, Joseph and Damian walked over to Mandy and sat on the bed with her. Joseph put his hand on top of hers.
"Whatever is happening, we will get through it together!" said Joseph.
"Definitely!" agreed Damian.
That night, they stayed with her while she sobbed. They didn't know what else to do.
