Chapter Fourteen: Once the djinn island had blocked out the sun, the cool air flowed off the snow-capped mountains. It settled in the deep valley cut by the river. Everyone’s exhaled breath was visible as they spoke. This strange land was nothing like Haven and the pleasant evenings Morgan grew up with. She wanted to be warmer but still dressed as a peasant man. She didn’t see how her comfort was going to improve. Linen was made for warmer climes.
