I don't know this person in front of me! Who is he!!! I don't know this person who is in front of me, lying on patient bed, wearing oxygen mask,covered in deep cuts and bruises, broken leg, injured head, brace in neck, tubes and pipes attached to his body!! Dr. Paul and Mike says that he is Knneth....!!
My Kenneth.....!!
I know he is not. I don't recognise this man, I have never seen him in my whole life....!! My Kenneth doesn't looks like this. he doesn't have this much of injuries on his body. He always has a smile on his lips......he can't be my Kenneth. I need to get out of here I can't breath properly, I should call Kenneth....!! I know this all is a prank. I need to find my Kenneth.
"Aaron where are you going?"
"I am going to call Kenneth!"
"Aaron, Kenneth is here! He is Kenneth, lying on bed unconscious....... can't you see that, are you blind!!"
"You are blind Mike...!! He is not my Kenneth. He was perfectly fine this morning when I left him. How on the earth he could be like this within few hours!!" I started shouting on Mike because he is speaking nonsense!!
"He got into an accident Aaron, and it just takes few seconds not hours. He is our Kenneth, your Kenneth Aaron. Look at that ring on his finger!!" Mike tried to clam me down and explained things, which I don't want to understand!!
And it hit me like a thunderbolt and I shattered completely. I know that ring! It's our promise ring to be always together! But how.....I.....no.....!!
"H(sniff)....how this ha...happen(sniff).....happened?"
" His taxi got hit by a truck. Hmm... actually not hit, it came under truck. Taxi driver died on the spot. When we brought Keneth here, he was severly injured specially by glasses. His ribs and leg are broken, his lungs are not working properly that's why he is having problem in breathing, his spinal cord and skull is completely damage and......sorry to say but....he doesn't have much time!!"- Dr. Paul explained to me which was beyond my understatement.
"Ohh"
That's the only thing that I can say!! I......don't.....he....no!! He can't leave me like that!! He have promised me our forever!! I am feeling like suddenly my soul has left my body!! Suddenly I am feeling like I have sooo much weight on my body....!!
My heart......I can't feel it in my chest. Something is in pain, so much pain!! How it is possible within few hours. Few hours ago he was completely fine. He was smiling to me, kissing me, feeding me....than how!! I need to talk to him. I went to him and took his hand. This hand has a deep cut and is swollen. He must be in pain. He.....what should I do to less this pain!!!
"Kenneth, hey, wa(sniff)......wake up i***t. You know I hate this!! You can't do this to me!!
They are saying, you do....(sniff)..don't have much ti.....(sniff).time!! But I know you will not leave me(sniff).........."
"Keennnn(sniff)..tell me where it is paining. We will get you best treatment, I promise. You know how careless I am, who will take care of me? Please, wake up, please!!"
Why he is not waking up? Can't he hear, I am crying!! He has to wake up!! It doesn't make any sense that he doesn't have much time!! I know I am not the best person for him but I don't love him any less than others!! We have been fighting for many days, but it doesn't mean that I hate him!! Kenneth are you listening this, I don't hate you. Come to me Ken....!!
He must be in pain, he needs me, but how I can reach him?? It pains me to see him like this!! Why he is not teasing me? Why he is not talking to me? Why he is not smiling? Why he is not kissing me? Why he is not looking at me? Why he is not holding me?
Why........just it has to him! Why my Ken have to here in this condition! Why just why....??? I was deep in my thoughts and crying mess when suddenly someone took my hands and started sobbing loudly!! I know this woman. I have meet her before. She is Kenneth's mother.
"Aaron, son, thank god y(sniff)..you are here. Now he will w(sniff).....wake up! He listens to you, don't he! Then tell him to wake up! He will listen to h(sniff)....his Star, so please wake him up son, please (sniff).........!!"
I don't know how his mom knows about us, but I am sure he has told them about us because he really loves his family and share everything with them. Now I am hating myself more and more....!!!
When I was being an i***t, stupid, stubborn ass, he was preparing base for our future, making everyone believe in our love. And what I did did to him!! I fought with him whenever he started this topic, I shouted on him, gave him silent treatment, locked him outside our bedroom but he never blamed me, never shouted on me, never gave me silent treatment than why today? Why.....!!
"Aunty, please stop cr(sniff)....crying, please, shhuuuu(sniff)....he can't see y(sniff)....you crying like this please!!"
"I will stop but first, tell him to wake up. He loves you very much(sniff)..., he will listen to you. Tell him to wake up Aaron.......!!"
"He will wake up aunty, he will. I promise you. He loves us all very much, he will not leave us!! See, he is fighting for his life and we all should support him. We shouldn't cry, we should motivate him, hmmmmm!!"
We were still crying and talking when Doctor Paul said.
"Sorry to disturb you but....he needs rest so please maintain silence here, or I would suggest that except from one person others should wait outside. It will be good for patient, please."
"Aunty, I know you want to be with him but you also need rest. We don't want Kenneth to see you all tired and pale. Please eat and rest for a while so that you can take care of him, hmmmm."
"But w.."
"Please aunty, please (sniff)."
"But please inform us about his condition regularly (sniff). And take good care of him, please."
"Yes, I will, I promise. Dan sir, aunty, please eat and rest for a while. Mike take them to canteen."
"Please come with me uncle, aunty. Aaron take care and contact us in any whenever needed, ok." Mike tried to convince them on which they looked at me for confirmation.
"Hmmmm, I will." I assured them because I know they will not take a step leaving their son in this condition.
"Everything will be fine Aaron."
"Hmmmmm (sniff)."
Everyone left the room except Dr. Paul. He came near me and put his hands on my shoulder and said-
"Don't get me wrong but as a doctor I don't want to give you false hope but..."
"Just(sniff)....just tell me!!"
"I was not kidding when I said he doesn't have much time. His chances of survival are only five percent. And by any chance or miracle he survived, he wouldn't be able to live a normal life!!! He will not be able to seat, walk, eat, talk or do anything properly!! In short he will be a breathing dead body!! So, be prepared for the worst!! Be strong, he really needs you, ok."
"Nothing will happen to him. He has promised me our forever!! I know him he will make that five percent to hundred percent to be with me(sniff)...!! We will make it happen!! Nothing will happen to him!!"......I said in determined voice because I know Kenneth loves me lot and he can't leave me alone.....no I will not let him go.
"I will pray for that."
With that he left room and went outside, leaving me alone with Kenneth. I looked at Ken' face. He has many cuts and bruises on his face and is swollen too!! One can find him ugly or disgusting, but for me he is still the most handsome and charming man in this whole world. Pain and fear of loosing him again creep in me!!
No, he will not leave me. He always puts my happiness at priority and he knows that he is my happiness!! He will not take it from me. He can't see me in pain, he hate my tears. He will not put me through that pain!!
"Ken, you have to make it to me. I know you will. Don't you want to marry me!! If you wa(sniff).....want than please get up, please!! I am dying to marry you!! Please wake up. I love you"
I hold his hands and put it on my cheeks and closed my eyes. I can hear his unsteady breath and I know he can hear mine too. He knows how much I love him. He is going to be alright, I know that......!!
He have to get up..............
