Ginny was too worked up over the visit with Surt to sleep before we had to be up to pick up Elle and Everett. She fell asleep on the drive there, but I didn’t have trouble staying awake for the drive.
When we got to the airstrip, it looked as though their plane had just landed. I nudged Ginny awake so we could go into the tiny terminal. Elle and Everett came into through the back doors and hurried over to us. Ginny and Elle were squealing and holding onto each other. Everett and I punched each other as hard as we could in the arm in greeting.
“Eli I’ve missed you so much!” Elle called and walked over to hug me.
“I’ve missed you too,” I said wrapping my arms around her. Everett eyes burned metallic green; making her smile. “Some things don’t ever change, huh Ev.”
“Mine,” he grum
