Liam hadn't let Scarlett out of his site the rest of the week. he was afraid of her being attacked again by the witch. since finding out her name there has been a little more information gathered about her. it turned out her mother was part of the arandon witch coven. she was a very skilled and powerful witch. her name was faith and she had met her fated mate and they added a daughter willow. no one had seen or heard from faith for nineteen years. willow was left to be raised by others in the coven. what her fascination with Liam was no one could understand. it was suspected a witch had helped with Liams kidnapping. no one was able to get a scent when he disappeared and so it was thought that a spell had been used to mask him. this means that it could be more dangerous if scent could be masked. at this point they really had no evidence and they could not request a meeting with the coven due to the lack of evidence. Liam was nervous but refused to let Scarlett see it.
" are you ready to go party for our birthday?" scarlett came behind Liam wrapping her arms around his waist.
" yes, just trying to fix this tie." he was fussing with the tie not being successful. Scarlett turned him around and helped him fix it.
" that's what you have me for. to fix your tie!" she giggled and kissed his nose. " I have your birthday gift but you can't have it until after the party. I know you are going to love it." she slipped on her shoes and turned back to Liam.
" give me a hint. what is it?"
" nope! the only thing I'm going to say is it's the only gift I can give you." he liked this side of her. the playful side of her. he leaned down placing his head into the crook of her neck.
" baby you are the only gift I could ever need or want." he took a big deep breath breathing her in. she calmed him. helped him keep his beast at bay. Xander was strong and was constantly threatening to come out. Scarlett could say one word and calm him.
" good! always remember that!"
" trust me, you are unforgettable. let's go down stairs. my parents are waiting for us." he had no idea what Scarlett had planned for his birthday later. they made their way downstairs and to another set of double wooden doors. they opened and the entire room had bowed down to the couple. they walked in and met his parents bowing to them and showing their respect.
the king smiled and then spoke to the crowd. " let the celebration of these two begin!" with that the party and celebration began. Zara came running up and she had drinks in hand.
" isn't this exciting Scarlett! we are all three nineteen! maybe my fated mate is here tonight. I'm starting to get jealous of you two! come on!"
" oh Zara, I don't know.... what about Liam?" Zara pulled her away placing a drink in Scarletts hands. he nodded towards Scarlett giving her a smile. after a while of drinking and eating and mingling with the crowd Liam looked around for Scarlett. he was missing her and wanted to make sure she was doing well. he made his way to Zara where she was resting on the edge of the chair and Scarlett was there sitting in the chair. Scarlett was yawning and could barely keep her eyes opened.

she smiled at the stunning man before her. " I can go up and wait for you if you wanted to stay longer. I'm just really tired." Liam reached his hand out to her and helped her up off the chair.
" my place is and always will be next to you my love. come on let's get upstairs." he bowed to everyone around and they made their way out of the banquet hall. it had been a great night of dancing and drinking but Liam was just as exhausted as Scarlett. he couldn't think of anything better than laying down and holding his mate. when they made it to their room Scarlett looked nervous. Liam could feel her nerves through their bond. " what's wrong little rose bud? are you ok?"
" yes. I'm just really wanting you to love this gift."
" it's from you. of course I will love it." he pushed open their door and walked in. his mouth dropped as he heard Scarlett close the door behind them. he hadn't even seen her slip her dress off to the ground. there were candles lit everywhere and rose petals on the bed. the room smelled of rose which had become his favorite scent.
