#13 dinner and a witch

Liam and Scarlett were ready for dinner. Scarlett was worried his brother and sister wouldn't like her. Her stomach turning at the thought of meeting them for the first time. " trust me. they will love you. there is no way they won't fall for you. you are amazing little rose bud." liam reached his hand to hers guiding her out of the room. they made their way down the grand stairway and into a hall leading to a huge set of double doors. the doors had a wolf on a cliff and carved above the wolf was a huge full moon.
" it's beautiful. " she reached her hands to touch the carved wolf.
" like the dragons, the full moon is very important. it is engrained in everything a wolf is. just like it pulls to the heart of a dragon." Scarlett kissed his cheek as the doors opened showing tables full of people. they walked in and everyone stood and bowed. Scarlett was used to this in her kingdom but to be given this respect amongst the lycans and wolves was surprising. they bowed to everyone as they made their way to their seats next to the king and queen.
Scarlett watched as liams father began to address the people. " please everyone sit." he waited for the noise to die down before continuing. " it is with great pleasure I introduce my son and his mate." he paused taking in a deep breath. Scarlett could feel his emotions.Pride bursting out of him. " prince Liam and his mate princess Scarlett of the snowy peaks." everyone gasped as they realized who she was. Scarlett grabbed liams hand. " she and her warriors are here for the month before prince Liam and princess Scarlett go back for training to be king and queen. this union is from the moon Goddess herself. it is the first of our kind but I am excited to have this union form. We are excited to have our Liam back with us. He is alive and well thanks to Princess Scarlett and her family." Scarlett saw him reach for his glass and hold it up. " to peace between both kingdoms!" everyone cheered and clapped and then food started flowing into the room as servants placed plates in front of them. King David sat down kissing his wife on the forehead. " my beautiful wife. we have peace in our kingdom and now peace with the ice kingdom and our entire family is back under the same roof. happy doesn't even seem to be the right word. I love you little fairy." Scarlett could feel how much love was between them. She felt the same when she thought of Liam. It was an unspoken bond that would last through time and could never be broken. A love forged between two souls that merge together.
everyone was eating and drinking and in deep conversations. even her warriors were having a good time. Scarlett sat watching everyone. " what's wrong little rose bud?"
" nothing really. I just worry that you are giving up something you always wanted. your siblings and your parents are here. I don't want to take all of that from you."
Liam took her hand in his, turning towards her. he leaned his head on her forehead and kissed her nose. " I lived a while without you. I couldn't breathe. I couldn't live without you Scarlett. my life is with you. I'm not giving anything up. I'm giving myself life. you need to eat. "
Scarlett smiled at his words. " I love you liam." she turned picking up her fork and began to eat. " this food is so good! I need the recipe!" Liam chuckled at her picking up his glass. he reached over handing Scarlett hers.
" to love. may it last forever. " he smiled at her as he put the cup to his lips.
" to love." after they toasted Scarlett felt someone's hands on her shoulder. she looked up to find a beautiful girl starring down at her. she looked just like Liam. her hair was long and flowed down her back. her face was soft. " you must be Zara. You are breathtaking."
" I am! you Scarlett are so beautiful! I have been dying to meet you. when liam was here before, you are all he whined about....."
" sister, is there something you need?" scarlett giggled at Liams annoyance.
" yes my dear twin. I need your mate. we are going to go and get to know each other. you have her for your entire life." Zara leaned in winking at Scarlett. Scarlett could tell this girl could be trouble and a lot of fun.
leaning in to Liam Scarlett gave him a kiss and then stood up to leave. Zara grabbed her hand and rushed out the doors with Scarlett in tow. " where are we going?"
" there is a bonfire in the woods tonight. come on let's go have some fun!" Scarlett was a little apprehensive about this but she wanted Liams family to like her. she took a deep breath and followed her deep into the forest. soon there was a clearing and she could see a fire roaring as people danced and stood around it. there were drinks and everyone seemed to be having a good time. "everyone! I would like to introduce you to princess Scarlett. she is my brother liams mate." everyone raised their glasses cheering Scarlett. " Come on let's have some fun!" just then a man came behind Zara picking her up and taking her away. someone handed Scarlett a drink.
" oh, thank you. what is it?" she smelled it trying to figure it out.
" my name is Sky. my father is the beta here. that is a homemade beer. us wolves and lycans love to have fun. careful it's a little strong. it is meant for wolves and not really dragons. I'm not sure of your tolerance." Scarlett took a sip. The liquid was strong as she swallowed it down.
" it's good. my name is Scarlett. it's nice to meet you."
" Come on let's get near the fire. I'm glad to meet you. last time Liam was here he was all the girls could talk about. it was such a disappointment for them to find out all he had was eyes for you. it's like a fairy tale."
" how do you mean?"
" the long lost prince comes home and has found his princess. it's cute! come on drink up!" She went and grabbed Scarlett more to drink. after the third cup Scarlett could feel the alcohol in her body. sky had stayed close to her feeding her drinks all night and never stopped drinking.
" sky I think I'm good. if I don't get back Liam will come looking for me. I hope to see you again really soon." Scarlett looked around looking for Zara. she couldn't find her anywhere. she decided to start walking back to the palace by herself through the woods. she was walking in the woods the moonlight casting its light. it was quiet. it made Scarlett feel uneasy. she heard the snapping of twigs behind her. she froze for a second listening to the sounds. " no need to spook yourself Scarlett. " she spoke to herself. taking a deep breath she started walking again. she had made it a little further when she heard the snapping of twigs again. " who is there!" she called out. Her head was starting to spin. She reached out placing a hand on the bark of a tree to steady herself.
it was silent for a moment and Scarlett thought about shifting to her dragon when a woman appeared from behind the trees. her hair was dark and skin was milky white. she looked beautiful her features were soft. her voice was gentle almost calming as she spoke. " so you are the Scarlett that got the prince?"
" I feel like we found each other. who are you?" scarlett was a little uneasy as the woman inched closer to her.
" I am the one who will take him away. " Scarlett saw her lift her hands as a ball of light flung from her hands. Scarlett ducked and moved quickly. " I thought Melik could do the job, turns out he was a weak dragon! Liam is mine! I will erase you from him! I wiped your memories once and I can do it again!" the witch flung a flame at Scarlett as Scarlett ducked and rolled to the other side.
" you are the witch. why not find your mate? your true mate? I know witches have them. why not find him?"
" everyone wants willow to give up on the only person she wants. I don't think so. you took him from me!" Her body was glowing in anger. Scarlett could feel the power coming from her.
Scarlett lifted her hands creating a wall of ice around willow. " so the witch has a name." she encircled the witch in the wall as willow flung firey balls of light smashing them at the wall. Scarlett took the opportunity to run as fast as she could towards the palace. her legs were burning as she pushed herself through the tree lines. the warriors came running as she fell to the ground screaming. " the witch is here!" she fell face first in the grass. a warrior came and picked her up rushing her towards the palace. " her name is willow! where is Liam?" just then she looked up seeing Liam come running out of the palace towards her. she ran to him letting his arms envelope her. " the witch. it was the witch!"
