The tension in the air could be cut with a butter knife. I fidgeted nervously with the straw of my already empty drink. I flicked my eyes towards Nicholas’ face and saw his face that was carved from stone. He was sitting in front of Autumn, who sat next to me at the table. Then I glanced at Roan beside him and noticed the grim expression on his face. Biting my lip, I tried to get back to eating but I couldn’t seem to swallow. The awkwardness was suffocating and I was too anxious to sit still. I just wanted to leave this table and run away. Ugh… I had no idea what to do in this situation. But Autumn seemed oblivious as she went on to tell her story about the adorable things her pet parakeet did last night. Yes. She had a parakeet like how a Disney princess would have an animal sidekick
