chapter 2

Matthew's pov

We were in my office me sitting at my office chair behind my work desk and on the other side was the elder sitting with his legs cross without pronouncing a single word, neither did I. The tension could be cut with a knife. The silence persisted for a couple more seconds until Barrosh spoke.

" it's always nice to greet you Alpha"

"I wish I could say the same."

I said with a blank face.

The tension grew and the silence was welcomed once more until Declan broke it once more.

"So elder Barrosh excuse my boldness but may I ask why are you here?

"What, can't an old family friend come here just to visit? "

"You are no longer worthy of that title "

I declared my wolf on the verge of surfacing.

You see there is a particular reason as to why I despise the elders so much especially Barrosh.

My father the previous Alpha of the Yunuen pack was a great man. He will always see for his people and when it came to the elders he will always have his arms wide open to welcome every one of them even though they are not liked by many. My father was the greatest Alpha of this century, he was strong, brave, and had no bad intentions within himself. When he found his mate, my mother, he became the happiest man on the earth. My parents loved each other and weren't afraid to show the world they did.

One horrendous night, we were attacked by roughs. My father asked for the help of the elders but they denied his request. My father at a moment of despair decided to send us away to a special hideout which we will use to protect the pregnant werewolves and the youngest members of the pack in case of an attack. On our way to the hideout a rough intersected us, my mother offered to distract him meanwhile my sister and I sneak out and head our way to the hideout, my mom was supposed to return after stalling the rough long enough, but she never did. A painful howl braked into the nighty sky, and I knew right away that it was my father's. He had lost his mate.

That night we won the battle but it cost my father his everything.

Dad couldn't bear the thought of having lost his other half. he changed. The once kind man that we knew was lost, never to be found again. He became feral.

Several of our best warriors had to help all at once to incage him in order to protect the rest of us. We did not know for how much longer we will have to cope with this situation until the console of the elders made the choice of bringing to an end the life of my father.

Barrosh was the one to execute the order. He is the man that my father once called a friend, and jet he killed him mercilessly.

"So... back to my previous question what are you exactly doing here?"

Declan sed, bringing to a stop my train of thoughts.

"Right. you see there have been reports of suspicious activity in an area a few kilometers from here. We decided to head there to acknowledge what was happening. turns out that the place is actually being used by humans, scientist perhaps with the purpose of experiment on werewolves. We decide to sneak to see with our own eyes what was the reason for this sacrilege to our species, turns out that they are somehow building a weapon to exterminate not just our kind but to abolish the whole existence of the underworld, we still do not know how close are they to achieve their goal, but we sertainly do not intend to just seat and wait."

Declan and I stire uncountable on our places, each of us was showing off amusement, fear, and anger swirling in our eyes. Our gaze focuses once more to the man sitting in front of us who appears to be unfazed by what he had just said.

"That is why we require you and your strongest warriors to end this immediately."

He finally said.

"No" was my immediate and final answer.

Declan saw me with surprise and shock.

It was unheard-of of someone who will go against the elders' orders.

"I will not put my people in danger nor myself just to pleas your wishes, now if that's all feel free to live my territory and never come back as you nor any other member of the elder council are welcome in my territory anymore."

I stood up ready to leave my office when suddenly I heard his disgusting laughter.

Annoyed I turned to face him.

"What's so funny? If I may ask" my voice giving out how irritated I was.

"You might be powerful young Alpha, might be brave, and smart. But you are certainly forgetting who we are."

He took out his phone from his pocket and hit the play button, a video started to broadcast. It was Sabrina she was tied to a chair passed out and blindfolded. I could still see her chest rising and falling which meant that she was alive and the lack of bruises meant that she was unharmed.

With this I reach my limits and Ezra, my wolf took over my body.

Ezra's pov

I charged towards this disgusting bastard and to my surprise, he did not even flinch. I grabbed his neck with both of my hands and tighten my grip onto it and jet gain I did not get any reaction from him, which only fuel my anger.

Declan stopped me abruptly by yanking my arm as hard as he could.

I release a growl towards him making him flinch from the amount of power it emitted.

"What is wrong with you, can't you see they have Sabrina, your mate."

"Precisely because of that is why I stopped you!

Don't you get it if you harmed him we will probably never see Brina again?"

He was right.

"Ah, you got yourself a very wise beta. Well done "

The jerk spoke. The sarcasm dripping from each word he let out.

"Now as loving as it is to have you, Ezra, here I will appreciate it if I could speak once more with Matthew himself."

I left out a warning growl before returning the control to Matthew".

Matthew pov

"You see Alpha Anderson we are not just the console of elders because we are powerful, but also because we are very smart. We assume that you will try to put a bit of resistance and deny our request, for which we came up with a plan B. Now you don't have to worry about your lovely sister, she is unharmed, we just gave her a small dose of wolfsbane, not enough to kill her but enough to sedate her for a while. Now if you may excuse me I'll see you tomorrow make sure to have your best man ready tomorrow might be a life-changing experience for all supernatural creatures."

And with that, he left.
