CEO Of Summit

Ariel woke up the next morning with a pounding head. With her eyes still closed, she tried to roll over to the other side of the bed, but ended up falling hard on the ground. "Your desire to harm yourself seems to have gotten stronger." She heard the voice she dreaded so much, and her eyes flew open. Ezekiel's cold face appeared in her view causing her to gulp down nervously. "What did you do to me?" She asked, widening her eyes when she realized she had no memory of what happened last night. Ezekiel scoffed. Moving towards her, he snickered, "Six years and you still haven't learnt the right way to speak, Ariel." "What are you doing? Stop coming closer!" She warned, quickly getting up on her feet. She glanced behind her and caught sight of a rod. Without thinking, she grabbed it and pointed it at him. "If you come any closer I'll impale you on this!" She threatened. Ezekiel stopped meters away from her and sighed. He stared at her without a word for several minutes before he suddenly moved forward. Before she could ascertain what to do, she saw the rod slide into his chest before he quickly pulled it out. "It's been six years and your resolve to kill me also seems to have gotten stronger." He chuckled, throwing the rod behind him. Ariel bit down on her lips shakily, her eyes going to his ripped black shirt which looked soaked with blood. She looked up at him and gulped nervously realizing he had been watching her the whole time. She didn't want to feel guilty. After all, she had warned him not to come forward, but he stubbornly refused to heed her warning. "This is a*******n!" She suddenly yelled, trying to get away from him, but to her dismay, she was trapped between the wall and him. "It isn't." "I don't remember coming to your house. And if you really did take me from the club...the club..I went yesterday." She stuttered, avoiding his gaze. Fragments of what happened the night before slowly returned to her. They didn't come back at once, but from the little she recalled, she remembered letting that guy at the club touch her. He touched her. Her eyes snapped towards Ezekiel who now had a daring smile on his face. "What did you do to him?" "I killed him." Ezekiel replied, then frowned and leaned towards her, "I expected to hear you cringing at the thought he had touched you." "I'm not your wife, Ezekiel! I can sleep with whoever I want!" She hissed and tried to push him out of her way again. She thought she saw his eyes glint. Specifically, his eyes reddened not in rage, but his actual eye color which was usually gray was red for a few seconds. Ezekiel finally moved away from her. He walked to one of the drawers and pulled it open, then pinned his eyes on whatever was in it. She didn't know what was running through his mind or why he seemed so offended by her words when what she said was nothing but the truth. Ariel glanced around her to see if there was any way she could leave. At the same time, she noticed the room was well decorated like it belonged to a billionaire. She sighed, recalling her glorious life six years ago when the public knew her as Ariel Harvey. She was forced to return back to the present when she caught sight of Ezekiel walking back to her with a file. He stopped meters away from her and extended it towards her. "We've been married since the day you turned 20, Ariel. I only wanted us to have a formal wedding." He mumbled, watching her eyes widen in surprise. "Two signatures are needed for a marriage certificate and since I don't remember giving you one, I'm left with no choice, but to believe you forged my signature." She hissed, but her grip on the marriage certificate tightened. "I got you a present the night you turned 20. Your father insisted you signed the paper that came afterward. I might've offered him something." Ezekiel explained with a small smile. Ariel hissed, "Of course! I should've known only Armando Harvey had the conscience to stab his only child and daughter in the back! I should've probably let those men he often borrowed money from beat him to death back then!" "You've been married to me for six years, Ariel. And anyone who thinks of having you will either be rendered a eunuch or killed." Ezekiel revealed. "Now, get ready for work. I'm sure your boss won't be happy with you if you arrive late." "I no longer have a job." She scoffed, but he said nothing. She watched him walk towards the door and suddenly recalled the injury he sustained from the rod. "You should see your doctor. The rod might've come in contact with one of your arteries!" He ignored her and walked out of the room. "Fine! Go ahead and kill yourself! I have no problem being a widow." She seethed. She heard a familiar tone which she recognized to be her phone. She followed its sound and found it on a sofa. The company she worked; Summit refused to process her resignation letter simply because her reason for leaving wasn't credible. Hence, she was ordered to return to the company and continue work. She thought she heard something like it somewhere, but she was more elated to recall where she had heard something similar. ... Ezekiel assigned a driver to take her to her workplace; Summit. Her colleagues greeted her as she made her way to Cassandra's office. She wasn't one to make friends, but over the course of the few months she had spent with Summit, she eventually became close to Cassandra. "Thank goodness you're here, Nathalia!" Cassandra exclaimed as soon as Ariel stopped at her front desk. She didn't give Ariel to say anything, as she immediately reached out and dragged the confused lady in. "Okay, what is going on?" Ariel asked after getting seated. "So, yesterday evening when I came in to see Mr. Hoffman, I heard the man who visited the company was the big boss of Summit. He hasn't really visited Summit headquarters which is the one here in New York. So when Mr. Hoffman heard about him, he grew nervous." Ariel revealed a bored expression, "Spare me the details and go straight to the point." Cassandra stopped talking for a few seconds. "Mr. Hoffman got fired minutes after you left the company. He was also implicated of diverting the company's money into a secret bank account. The police were called and he was convicted immediately." Ariel raised a brow in surprise. Seems karma is indeed a b***h. "The big boss also mentioned his intention to stay in New York. Also..." Cassandra trailed off and reached for something under her desk, then she handed it over to Ariel, "Your resignation letter wasn't processed. Instead, it was turned into a promotion. Congratulations, Nathalia, you're now the President's secretary." Ariel instantly had a bad feeling. She looked down at the promotion letter for a long time before asking, "If I was promoted to the position of the President's secretary, then what did you get?" Cassandra grinned and said, "I'm now the manager!" "Oh my God!" Ariel smiled, "Congratulations to you, Cassandra! Also, do you know what the President looks like?" Cassandra couldn't reply as her landline blew up and she immediately rushed to it. "Hello, sir." She spoke first then listened attentively. "Okay, sir." The call ended and she heaved out a sigh she didn't know she was holding, "It's the President, he says you should report to his office in the next ten minutes." Ariel nodded and left. The President's office was the only office on the last floor. Hence, it was really large. She knocked and pushed the door open when she heard someone's voice from inside. Failing to admire the beauty around her, she walked straight to where he sat. The man paid no attention to her as he had his head lowered onto something on his laptop. When he eventually raised his head, she scoffed, "Of course it's you! Ezekiel freaking Alexander!"
