3. The talk

1700 Words
The demoness pressed her lips in a thin line and kept staring at her friend's human friend with a scowl on her face. For a moment she thought Aileen has accepted that challenge without holding any grudges for her to bring them among the vampires, demons, crocotta, and other deadly creatures.  But she was wrong, very, very wrong. By their look, she knew they were not going to stop any time soon. It has been over thirty minutes both cousins were yelling at her for being a traitor and a threat to their life which she was, sort of, but her intention of bringing the wolf and the human was different. She has no evil intention with the sisters. Why would she have that when she loves both of them with everything she has? She has patience, which was running in a thin line. She would explode anytime if the sisters don’t stop accusing her. Although she was at fault, she wasn't going to let them die in their hand. Knowing that Aileen wouldn’t melt in her raging heat anymore as they were in the North around snow, the demoness roared, shaking the whole dorm room in her power, “Stop you two, or I will make you,” The witch sneered, gaining her power after the demoness's powerful voice, "Seriously? You want us to stop! Do you think you are in any position to tell us to stop, Cosette? I never saw a traitor like you before."  Oh, you didn't just call me a traitor, Jenette. The demoness's eyes turned pitch-black. Aileen said in anger, "I can't believe you would do this to us, Cosette. I don't care about my life, but I do about my cousins. If anything happens to her, do you think I will go through another pain again?"  Even though Aileen knows her cousin has supernatural power, she was not immortal like her. Janette can kill vampires by nature, but it would never be easy for her to deal with thousands of vampires all alone.  Janette's eyes turned teary. Looking at her cousin, she thought she would never take it if she losses her.  Aileen's world was surrounded by her only. Without her, Aileen would turn herself into a living corpse.  "Oh, Aille," Janette sobbed and pulled her sister in her embrace. She couldn't hold herself back anymore.  She has to break her promise of not crying again. Aileen felt bad to see her cousin. She wished she could go home with her, but she can't, knowing well their werewolf enemies will not leave them alone.  On top, the vampires would for their hunt someday for sure. They won't let that chance go to taste their blood anyway. So, the moral of the story is, we are royally screwed. Aileen cried mentally with a facepalm. The demoness was watching the sisters with a sour face. Why do these two are so dramatic?  She couldn't help saying, "Why are you two acting like you would die any minute here? Is it that bad, Aileen? Let's leave the crying witchy baby here as I don't have any expectations from her anymore. Gosh! I never saw anyone like your cousin, Aileen, who knows nothing other than shedding tears from her eyes,"  The cousins' pulled away and glared hard at the demoness. Aileen defended her cousin, "This time it is you who made her cry, Cosette. In the situation we are in- " She stopped when Cosette showed her palm. "Shush!" Cosette cut her off by putting her finger on her lips. Aileen and Janette both shared a look and then looked at Cosette questioningly. Moving her finger away from her, Cosette said in a hushed tone, "You are giving a reason to the vampires to attack you two, idiots. Keep your mouth shut, will you?" The cousins got alerted. Their body jolted as chills ran down their spine which made them ran at the demoness and sat on either side of her. Aileen cursed under her breath for behaving like an i***t. Aileen asked frowning, "Do you mean they heard us talking to you about them, Cosette?" Cosette shrugged, saying, "They definitely have a good set of ears and legs. And nose...?" The demoness's eyes furrowed as if she was thinking something very deeply. She grumbled out, "If they don't, their eyes would not be fixed here from the time you two started accusing me of bringing you two here." Aileen wanted to protest but stopped knowing well that wasn't a time to fight. They needed to solve this matter as soon as possible. Cosette said to Janette, "You can see it taking the help of your witchcraft." Janette said, "I don't want to check on them, Cosette. But can you please cast a protection spell around this room? Yours are more powerful than mine. I want to feel protected in this room at least, please,"  Cosette sighed irritably saying, "You girls! Why do you always forget who I am anyway?"  The sisters stared at the demoness in confusion. Patting her chest proudly, Cosette said, "I am one of the high-ranked demonesses. My father is the king of hell. If any one of them hurt you, I mean like taking your life, that day will be the end of their life too. The whole North will burn and then it would go down under the water. That's why I am telling you to be strong and there has no need to be scared of them. I know Aileen will go through it as she has already proved to me how evil she could be if she needed to be."  Aileen pressed her lips in a thin line and looked away seeing Jane was looking at her and Cosette in questioningly. Aileen would have done taken Jane's mate's life if it wasn't for her getting caught by her that she was the one who killed those werewolves who killed their father years ago.  Cosette was cursing herself mentally for almost ranting out the way Aileen killed them.  Seeing the way Aileen was giving her cold glares, she couldn't help felt chills run down her spine. She doesn't know why but she kind of scares her without trying anything more to her.  To change the topic, Cosette looked at Jane and said pointedly, "I told you before and I'm telling you again. If you show your weakness and fear to others, they will not think twice to destroy you. Your cousin is not your weakness, but your strength. And you need to be her strength too. Learn to be fearless this time. You are not only a witch, but also a werewolf, the feral one. In the one-to-one fight between a vampire and a werewolf, the vampire always stays at a disadvantage. Wolf kills them off by nature. I should not say it to you two, but I needed to remind you who you are and what your strength is. Now if you don't have any questions left to ask me, can you hand me water, please? I'm thirsty. Talking to you two is no different from talking to kids." In the way she insulted her friends, their faces turned red in embarrassment. They were not kids but confused about the place where their friend brought them.  It took hours for them to unpack their languages and kept them in their wardrobe, which they would share for the next three years. After taking a shower, they fell on their bed and closed their eyes in their tiredness. Janette was sleeping peacefully. Aileen didn't want to wake her up, she needed to anyway.  "What?" Janette groaned before putting her face into the pillow.  The demoness hissed, "Wake up, sleepyhead. We need to go to the canteen for dinner." Jane froze.  Sleep disappeared from her system as she heard her saying that. There was no way she would feel comfortable eating around the vampires there. "I am not hungry. You two go," She said in a breathy tone. Aileen sighed helplessly saying, "Jane, it will not be safe to stay alone in this dorm room. No one can hurt you there. You promised you will be strong for me, remember?"  Janette couldn't help but decided to go for dinner with them. On the way to the canteen, they felt gazes on them. They knew better than to ignore them like they don't exist anywhere near them.  The demoness told them she would buy an induction oven, cookery, pots, and washing machine, and all of which was making both sisters feeling down at that moment.  The demoness did see the discomfort on her friend's faces which she ignored. To her, a friend can help a friend with anything. She has money and resources. Why will not she use it for her friends who were there when she needed someone there beside her the most? No, she will help them whether they want it or not. After taking a seat far away from all vampires, demons, the cousins' sister began having dinner together. The demoness left for somewhere but assured them that she would be nearby.  Janette raised her head only to cast her gaze down as soon as she saw a group of vampires was staring at them with dark eyes. Gulping hard, she eyes steak on her plate and pushed that away from her. Her appetite died already. Who can eat in that kind of place where everyone was planning the way they would drain her blood? She glanced at Aileen and saw her eating food in oblivion or that was what she thought.  "I will not take you to the doctor if you fall sick, Jane." Jane winced her cousin's tone and pulled her plate hurriedly to eat food knowing well Aileen wasn't lying. She was younger, yet she scares Jane to no end. They were eating peacefully, at the time, they heard a chair-shifting sound. Assuming that Cosette has returned, Aileen raised her head and was about to ask where she went, she was stunned to see who was sitting in Cosette's place. Seeing the unknown person, Janette asked alternatively, "Who are you? And- "
