I didn’t want to die here like this, without telling Ayden how I feel and saving his parents. Death was looking likely, these guys are after Ayden and if they find us, kidnap him then they’ll probably just kill me.

It was a long evening of walking, we were going west. “Dawn, you can get us there faster, don’t shift because they know where we’re coming from so if we’re airborne it’s too obvious.” He ran his hands through her scruffy hair. “Have you learned any teleportation or portal spells yet?”
