Hallow’s Eve

“Can you tell me why, again, we celebrate Halloween? Isn’t it an overused and completely non-logical celebration to practice?” The mechanical voice of Kade communicated, and Viorra giggled in response. “Because… it is fun, and the Angels don’t mind, right?” She said and Ebony and Ivory chuckled nodding. “See? We put on clothes and funny outfits and just relax and have fun!” She smiled and then finally walked out of the bathroom. Kade’s eyes widened, he saw her wearing a tight nurse costume with white stockings and high heels, she had a mischievous smirk and her eyes sparkled. He swallowed hard and walked to her, his outfit simple; a pirate with an eye patch. He kissed her and made her shiver as he lifted her up and spun her around. ‘Ok, I will go along with this, just because I am going to take it out of you soon…’ He whispered to her mind and she blushed deeply. Ebony rolled his eyes and headed to the door. “Come on, you two. Sol wanted us to make sure everyone makes it to the Halloween party…” Kade sighed and took Viorra’s hand, heading to the door and then to the center of the town. As soon as they got there, Kade was surprised by the elegance and well-prepared installations. One of the reasons he opted to stay in the city, was because he never thought nor wanted to have anything to do with the countryside; he always associated it with living like peasants and farmers. But now, with everyone coming for the event, and him stepping on the pack’s lands for the first time in decades, he noticed the life was almost the same as the one in the city, with all the commodities and interestingly enough, all the technology as well. ‘A Penny for your thoughts?’ Viorra’s voice made him come back. He held her a bit tightly. ‘I was thinking that maybe we should get a house here, you know, for vacations…’ Viorra was smiling. As the party developed perfectly as planned; Sol smiled watching everyone dressed in different costumes and having fun. She wanted her mother and father there, but she knew they were unable to assist a trivial event like this when there were more important events putting everyone in danger. Xavier was grinning as he had just finished the call to her parents, where he revealed to them about his mates. Meadow was in tears, and Caleb was proud. They also talked to the girls and made sure to let them know that they were more than happy to welcome them into the family. Ian was lost, he smiled and yet he felt it was only a mask. He was happy, truly happy, that his sister and brother were enjoying themselves, but he himself felt empty. From a distance, a shadow watched him closely. “Thank you, everyone, for coming tonight…” Sol spoke to them all. “Halloween might be an ancient, pagan celebration, but the reason we celebrate it is a different one… We celebrate uniqueness. Here, together, we celebrate that we are different and that we are free. We celebrate that this is a new world and that we are part of it…” She smiled as everyone else did to her words. “We are free to enjoy ourselves… so let's do it, without worrying on beliefs or symbolism… let’s enjoy our free will and our choice to have fun!” She finished and everyone cheered. As everyone started dancing to the music that started playing, Sol reached her brothers and new sisters in law, and they welcomed her with a smile. Dana was perking a brow as she looked at her. “You really are doing this celebration for that reason? To only honor our uniqueness?” Sol giggled. “I love Halloween! I love the festivity and all the things that come with it. I love the masks and costumes as well as the whole mysticism around it... but no one would fall for that if I said it that way…” They started to laugh and together they joined the party; they danced and had fun for the rest of the night, unwilling to let anything bad or negative affect them.
