The Calm is over, The Storm Begins
---*--- Remembering What Happened in the Previous Books ---*--- -*- Simply His -*- Caleb meets Meadow in an unexpected place and takes her to shelter. She is human, so he needs to control himself and learn to control his beast and tries to give her a chance, as a human, to get to know him and accept him. And she does, after a lot of struggle, they get together because she had the chance to know him and fall for him. Meadow and Caleb face Gideon, who we think is the big enemy of the book, but it was just an obstacle. Meadow shows mercy and forgives Gideon, giving him a chance to redeem himself. Then Caleb takes Meadow to the pack lands, and the culture and world of the werewolves are presented to her. She learns about them and tries to be part of them. Finally, they get together on a more intimate level; He marks Her and then the process of her change begins. She starts to notice some details of her behavior and her physical appearance change. She adjusts slowly but well, and although there were some difficulties, she manages to even shift before it was predicted. The real enemy attacks in many ways, one of them in a very personal way, causing Caleb to almost lost control of himself. He manages to overpass this situation with Meadow on his side, both stronger than before. They organize and face the real evil, the enemy known as Cornelius. They are able to win, thanks to Caleb showing his deepest secret and also his weapon, his true self. A battle they had to face in order to achieve a good redemption at the end of the story. A wedding closes the book with good news for Caleb. -*- Simply Bound -*- A few months after the events of Simply His, Meadow and Caleb are in their Honey Moon. Meadow is pregnant and they are happier than ever. A misunderstanding causes Aeneas' brother to come and try to claim Meadow as his soul mate, and although he feels Caleb's different race, he doesn't expect the way he fights back and wins. The situation gets clarified and they try to move past the bad event. Meadow is well adjusted to her new life, and she tries to help in her old work by bringing a member of the pack to help her replacement, Viorra. It turns out they are mates, and the pack member is mute, causing a lot of funny and intense situations with Viorra. A kidnapping gets tied with other events, and the apparent enemies turn out to be simple humans. A big confusion that ends with the discovery of the real evil in this sequel. Entities that have a lot of power, and something darker, or lighter, behind them The arrival of a new race that was completely unexpected to ever interfere only brings confusion and distrust. They manage to move past that and learn more about this powerful new enemy, and how their role plays an important part in the future of the world as they know it. Not only that, but Meadow's children are key for that future. Caleb finally reveals his true self to the pack and other allies, and a test of faith proves to be the necessary thing to make them all stronger. And they play their role facing the evil that was threatening the world, managing to achieve what was expected from them.  The book ends with Meadow finally giving birth to her three children, who was revealed to her to be powerful and important for the new future of the world. -*- The Awakening -*- A side story that stands alone on its own. A view of how two major and important characters at the end of Simply Bound got to meet and seal their fate. Caliope meets Amra and feels a strong attraction to him, later to discover he is something supernatural and she is what he needs to complete his mission on earth. He is an Angel, but just not any angel. She is not a human for him, she is his one soul mate, and he now has a motivation to fight and win for her. The reason why Amra is on earth is due to very dangerous events that are a mystery at the beginning, but slowly are revealed throughout the story. In the end, the events happening on Simply Bound show what happened on their side for the things to end the way they did in this book. ---*--- End of the Summary of the 3 previous Books ---*--- Welcome to Simply Eternal! Chapter 1: The Calm is over, The Storm begins *Meadow* I stand up and head to the door; I am not happy, but I won’t lose my temper with these other ladies. I only nod my head to Caliope before I leave, as my respect for her has never diminished, only grown. Raziel follows me closely. As soon as I am out of the building, his face reflects his worries, but for the first time, I don’t care. We get into the car and he sits next to me in silence. “To the residence, please,” I politely order Maxwell, my bodyguard, who happens to be an Angel. “I take it you didn’t reach an agreement,” Raziel finally speaks out. He is not happy either, but I have made a decision. I nod. “No, we haven’t. I understand is not easy to get a room full of women to agree on something so important, much less when it comes to women who belong to different races. But I am not going to let my children be raised in a school full of distrust and mothers with a temper,” I sigh and look at Maxwell through the mirror, he is chuckling in silence. I can’t help it and I chuckle as well. “Can you believe that the Mermaid Princess had the nerve to ask if my race would pass on lice?” We all started laughing. Dealing with the silliest of mundane things was a task I was not ready for. I still remember how two years ago. The Angels, after reaching an agreement with the rest of us, introduced us officially to the human world. I was not so happy about it, but everyone was ready to be out in the open. Just like when the Angels themselves came out, there were many humans protesting our presence and our existence among them. It was not easy, and we still have plenty of humans who hate us and have gathered together in exclusive neighborhoods just to avoid us. The Legacy Group was formed with the lead female members of the races which are active in this realm. As a whole, they wanted to create a school and university for an inter-race education. We are not ready for it, and they need to understand this. Each must have an understanding of our own prejudices before we attempt to move forward to the next level too fast. My phone rings and I pick it up quickly. “Caly, I am sorry I left like that…” I start apologizing to her, but she interrupts me quickly. “We were under attack as soon as you left…” She says with a tensed voice. “What?!” I tense as well and hold my breath. “I am surprised you didn’t feel anything, but it was a big one. No one was aware and a few of the ladies left already, but some were gravely injured,” I heard her voice break a bit. “Are you ok Caly?” I ask and with a gesture I make Maxwell pay attention. “Max, turn around, we need to go back…” Caly sighs and there is an uncomfortable silence. “I almost brought Seth with me…” I feel her panic even though she tries to mask it. “He is safe, focus on that. I am on my way back… I will be there soon Caly,” I promise and the call ends. I look at Raziel who is frowning. “I am receiving the reports, Amra is on his way to her, and the other Angels have been informed. No one sensed anything nor anyone around, it must have been something planted beforehand and most likely human.” I shake my head and frown. “Why were we born this stupid?!” I ask myself and then sigh. ღ ~~~~~~~ ☽ⓈⒺ☾ ~~~~~~~ ღ *Caleb* I stomp out of the room and Alex is already waiting for me in the car. I am not even worrying about orders, he knows where I am going. “Craig is setting the plane ready, we can go as soon as we get to the airport,” Alex informs me about his conversation with Craig while I was communicating with Meadow. I nod to him. “The kids?” I ask. “Cara is keeping them distracted for now, but Sol already senses something is wrong,” He answers. I can’t let her worry and unleash her powers, she is too dangerous. But I need to trust they are old enough to handle it. “Dial Cara’s number.” Alex nods and after a few seconds, I hear her. “Alpha.” “Cara, can you put this on speaker?” I ask as I think fast on my next actions. When they turned 15, I noticed Sol being more sensitive than her brothers; she was able to perceive things from other people very far and she would get very emotional if it involved one of the people she cared about. Her brother was away and she felt him getting hurt and into a fight. She not only felt it, but she was also able to send some sort of energy to her brother, and we found out later, he ended up victorious. The conditions for her to manifest her abilities were special, and we only saw it happened twice. We don’t want her to try it as it would weaken her and leave her in bed for days. Now, them being nineteen, I still don’t want to test her. “Dad?” I hear her voice full of worry. “Children…” I begin as I feel the three of them. “There has been an attack where the Legacy Group was meeting…” “Is mom ok?” Ian breaks in. “Your mother was already gone from the place when it happened, so please stay calm. She went back now to investigate, and I am heading there as well. No deaths, only injured victims,” I tell them as I see the airport just ahead. “I am arriving at the airport, I need you three to keep an eye on everything and collaborate with each other. Understood?” I say before cutting the call. “Yes father,” I hear them three say together. I smile and I cut the call. “You should be father of the year…” Alex adds. I chuckle and sigh. “I learned that keeping them all fully informed was the best. They know they can trust us and also know we trust them… there is a lot of responsibility destined to be on their shoulders in the future, and the best way to raise them is by teaching them strong values…” I say and I feel like I am lecturing him. Being a father has made me a lecturer. Alex nods and opens the door as soon as he parks the car inside the hangar, I walk out from my side and we head to Craig, who is waiting for us with the plane ready. “Alpha,” he bows his head and I smile at him. “Come in Craig, I want you with me and Alex,” I say and he nods, following me. We don’t wait, the pilot is one of our pack and he is also worried. The last couple of months we have been receiving many anonymous attacks, to our groups and others as well. We suspect they are humans, and we have taken some distance from them to prevent anything else from happening. But this latest attack has shown it goes much deeper; the location of the reunion was set barely two days before it happened, and no human was involved in its planning. I close my eyes and focus, reaching into the distance and feeling my mate. She is tensed, walking between the remains of the building. She is with Caliope, who was unharmed as well. Amrafel is not there yet, and I find that unusual. ‘I am on my way love… I will be with you soon…’ I send her. She relaxes and stops her walk, her attention focusing for this long distant reach. ‘I am really worried love… this was aimed to cause a lot of damage…’ I nod, making her feel my embrace. ‘We will have to make a larger reunion and deal with the latest events… try to gather as much information as you can…’ She agrees with me. ‘Are they ok?’ ‘Yes, I have spoken to them and have put them all up to speed. You can calm down now…’ I say before she gets worried. ‘I love you… be here soon…’ She adds before our communication ends. ‘I love you…’ I reply. I haven’t asked why she wasn’t there when it happened, but that will be one of the things I will have to deal once we get there. I am worried about the repercussions of this event. The leaders of the different races have different behaviors and I am not sure how some of them will react. After many years, it seems peace has run out. ღ ~~~~~~~ ☽ⓈⒺ☾ ~~~~~~~ ღ   Chapter 2: Uncertainty *Solveig* I feel a tight pain in my chest. Xav and Ian are watching the news while Cara shows some concern. She tries to look like there is nothing to worry, but I can’t dismiss the fact that there is a tight pain in my chest. “Sis, look!” Ian calls my attention. “Mom is there, she is fine, see?” He points at the TV. I nod. Watching mom between other people over there makes me feel scared, but relieved that they are ok. “Is Carl at the Command Center?” Xav asks Cara. “He is there with Agape and Gideon. They are restructuring the defenses,” She answers. “I am going to go there and keep an eye on things. I can’t stay here doing nothing,” Xav says and stands up, I look at him worriedly. He comes to me and kneels in front of me, taking my hands in his. “Everything is going to be ok Sol, no one tried to attack any of the races directly in their territory…” I sigh. “Yet…” Xav shakes his head. “You do know we have the largest surveillance system in the world, right?” He says with a grin, to what I nod. “Of course,” I say. ‘Maybe dad forgot about that, can you check your gadgets and see if you can find out more?’ I send to him in our private minds, Ian is listening as well. ‘I will keep you updated on it, I promise,’ He answers and heads out. Cara looks at me and smiles. “You are so cute together, who would have thought that Xavier had a heart?” She chuckles and I can’t help but to laugh at her comments. In truth, he is always very cold to people except mom and me. My eyes lock on the TV again, as I keep my mind away from any other thoughts. I need to be fine, I can’t be the source of worry to my parents or brothers all the time. If only I knew how to control whatever is that I do, I could learn to control it. ‘But if you do that, then how are we going to beat you at anything?!’ Ian’s words unfocus me and I start to laugh. ‘Stop spying on my thoughts!’ I shoot back as Cara shakes her head smiling. She knows we communicate privately and doesn’t worry about it. She is mom’s best friend, and the best aunt I could ever ask for. ღ ~~~~~~~ ☽ⓈⒺ☾ ~~~~~~~ ღ  *Xavier* I walk into the Command Center as Carl is there waiting for me, he knows I am focused on this idea of mine, and I want to research everything that is possible to find. Gideon is watching me intently.  “Agape, Gideon, Carl…” I greet them and they bow their heads to me. “I want to know if we can find something from our satellites on the area where they were attacked… is it possible?” Carl is the first one to nod. “Actually… your father started to do the same research from his offices in the city,” He says to me. Of course, why did I think he wouldn’t know what to do? He is wiser than any of us… “But I think we might need to rely on more unconventional methods…” I perk my brow and look at him. “What do you mean?” Carl nods at Gideon who has been quiet all along. “He had an idea…” “Please tell me what you were thinking uncle…” I ask as I reach Agape and kiss her cheek. I am not very fond of loving gestures, but she is one of the most important people in my life, being there for me and raising me like a warrior. Gideon nods, a hand shake between us before he speaks. “The attacks seem to be random, but there is a patron in them as well. I think… I think they are not humans… because we can’t detect them before or after the events… you have high tech gadgets and yet still can’t predict what is happening, nor see anything on the cams…” I frown and ponder his words. He is right, his train of thoughts are completely logical. I have to dig into this possibility a bit more before I present this theory to dad. “Can you do some research into who might be having some issues with the Legacy Group formation? That should give us a list of possible people that could manipulate this…” Gideon nods with a small smile. He is certainly happy I vouch for his idea. “Yes, I can do that for sure… I understand you want more info before taking this to your father…” I nod. “You know me well unkle.” I say as I take a seat in front of the cameras. They might have seen the videos already, yet I want to watch them again to make sure we did not overlook anything. I want to make dad proud, and I want to make our people safe. ღ ~~~~~~~ ☽ⓈⒺ☾ ~~~~~~~ ღ  *Ian* I just don’t know what to do; I feel helpless and useless when I can’t help in any situation. Of course Xavier is already doing something, so what else can I do? I only have my sister to look after, and I think she is more powerful than either of us. I am worried about mom and frustrated about the whole situation. Whoever decided to put a war against all the races is thinking suicide. But who might be clever enough to pass unnoticed for this long? When we were born, change was already happening. Dad still tells us stories of when we were hiding from humans, and when Angels first came up. Both he and mom are heroes, and I feel I am a disappointment. Will I ever be good enough to be called their son? ღ ~~~~~~~ ☽ⓈⒺ☾ ~~~~~~~ ღ *Meadow* Caly looks at things in a different way; she has powers that none of us can begin to understand. She left everyone take pictures and then began her own investigation. Her right hand Pronab is carefully watching outside of our circle, being cautious that none of us gets attacked while we investigate the scene. Caleb is talking to the investigators for over an hour now, humans are just as frustrated as us. ‘But I sense more than that…’ I hear Caliope speak to me. ‘They are scared… because we are supposed to be invincibles and now we are under attack… if we are in danger, they are afraid of their own safety and even survival… can you blame them?’ I sigh and shake my head. ‘Caly, we need to get to the bottom of this… I hate the way we look so…’ I am without words. ‘Vulnerables…?’ She finishes my thoughts and I nod. Amrafel is in the center of the ruined site; I keep looking at him as he concentrates and extends his powers to investigate everything and everyone. As I watch him, I also fear for our future. I feel Caleb wrap his arms around me, and that instantly calms me. “We are exhausting all our resources, we will find out what happened…” “My worry is… why haven’t we found him or her yet?” I say back. “We will find out soon. Amra is focusing on following every trace of activities that could be suspicious,” Caly joins us. “That puts my mind at ease,” Caleb says but I can feel him still tense. “I am worried too, but for now, what I really want is to know we are safe. If that can be assured, then we will proceed to investigate everything. I want the humans to leave us alone so we can do our job better…” She whispers the last part only to our ears. We nod and wait silently for Amra, who seems unaffected by anything happening to us, yet I know he is careful and observant of everything. Caleb pics up his phone the second it rings. “Yes?” On the other side I hear Julius. “We have gone through every angle and every camera for the last month. We have nothing unusual. Those who were not supposed to be around the building were already investigated and came up clean.” I sigh hearing this, and Caleb squeezes me gently. “Thank you. If anything else comes up, keep me posted,” Caleb finishes then looks at Caly. “Nothing. I am starting to believe this might not be human after all… they are clumsy, this is too perfect.” Caly nods and I nod too. My worst fears are coming close to happen; another great force attempting to destroy the peace we fought so hard to achieve. Whoever dares to attempt a mass scale attack on all races, has the courage and weapons to cause real harm, and we need to be prepared for everything.
