Sadie’s anxiety about her upcoming school test is compounded by a chilling message she receives the night before from an unknown number. The message hints at an unsettling interest in her and tells her not to worry. The next day, she’s too distracted by the message to focus on her test. At school, she confides in Serena, who suspects Jake might be behind the mysterious message. Sadie believes Serena’s suspicion, but the fear of Jake’s involvement weighs heavily on her.
During the exam, Sadie’s worst fears come true when she spots Jake through the window. Her heart races as he enters the classroom and, without warning, drags her out. Despite her attempts to resist, Jake’s strength overpowers her. The teacher, shocked and seemingly intimidated by Jake, does nothing to intervene. Serena tries to follow, but the teacher stops her, forcing her to return to her seat with a sense of helplessness.
Jake takes Sadie to the principal’s office, where he demands that the principal give Sadie a good mark on her test. To Sadie’s shock, the principal agrees to Jake’s demands without question. Confused and frightened, Sadie is then taken to Jake’s house. There, Jake nonchalantly asks her what she’d like to eat, leaving Sadie even more bewildered.
Determined to understand Jake’s intentions, Sadie starts asking him direct questions about why he wants her and what he wants from her. Jake, however, does not answer her questions and instead leaves the room, leaving Sadie alone with her thoughts and fears.
Unbeknownst to Jake, Serena has followed him to his house. Disguised as a cleaner, she manages to enter the house unnoticed. When Serena reaches the room where Sadie is being held, Sadie initially feels scared by the intruder but quickly calms down upon realizing it’s her dear friend. Relieved, the two friends work together to sneak out of the house.
As they reach the gate to leave, they spot Jake standing there. To their surprise, Jake just smirks and lets them go, offering no resistance. Sadie is still shaken by the look in Jake’s eyes, feeling a mix of fear and uncertainty as they make their escape.
Once home, Sadie feels overwhelmed and disheartened. She decides to go to bed, hoping to find some solace. However, she is jolted awake by a message from the same unknown number. The message reads, "Sadie, stop running, 'cause I'm still going to catch you, you runaway damsel." The words strike fear and anger into her, and Sadie realizes it’s Jake behind the messages. In a burst of frustration, she throws her phone against the wall, shattering it. As she looks at the broken phone, her anger turns to tears, and she curses Jake, feeling a profound sense of helplessness and rage.
