Chapter Two: The Day I Crossed the Passage

My memory wasn’t clear; when and how I cross the Passage, I can't remember, someone is calling my name I follow the light path of the Passage.
I reach the end and open my eyes and see I’m in a Different World. I was young, I didn’t know where is that place.
A lot of strangers' faces I didn’t know. I saw a lot of people smiling brightly at each other and laughing as they talk.
I didn’t know what makes them happy. I turn around and take a look at the whole place.
The entire place is decorated with lots of lights; a citizen is lining up to ride the big strange thing I've seen for the first time.
I wonder what it is and the reasons the citizens feel delighted to ride it.
I don’t know what I’m feeling, I never been in this place.
The citizen clothes are different, not like mine.
I feel that I don’t belong in this place and not a part of them.
There is some citizen with the same dress as mine pass by and I follow her, try to catch up to her and in instinct, I held her hand, the lady.
“Lady, do you happen to know what Kingdom is this place?” I’m nervous.
The Lady smiles sweetly to me and came near “You’re so into character little Miss”
The Lady held my hand and walks me; I walk with her for I don’t know anyone here.
We enter a door where there is a big curtain, a lot of citizens who wear a dress like mine are there.
Some holding papers seem like reading, some are looking agitated.
I wonder what is happening that they are all here; it makes me think if there King prepares a gathering.
I don’t know what to do, the lady who walks with me kneels in front of me and smile.
“The show will start at any time, be ready little Miss” the lady seems to remind me.
“Show,” I ask to confuse.
“Yes, the theater show” the lady answers casually
The Lady looks at me and senses my weariness,
“What’s the matter Little Miss?” she looks at me in concern
“I don’t know the show you’re talking about?” I said honestly
“Are you nervous? Did you not memorize your line yet?” The lady asks rapidly which confuses me more.
“Lady, I don’t know what you're talking about; I don’t know where am I” I answer honestly.
The Lady's eyes widened in surprise, “You’re not part of our team?” she asks in disbelief.
“Team” I repeat for I don’t know the word.
“But you’re wearing costumes” The Lady utter
“Yes, you wear a dress like mine so I thought you know how can I go back to my Kingdom?” I ask desperately
“You’re Kingdom?” the Lady asks in disbelief
The lady lowers down her tone while she talks to me, she also looks around.
“Look, little Miss, I don’t know what you're talking about but I think we have to deal about that after this show.” The Lady says
“But what should I do?” I ask
“When the curtains up, stand there and watch everything don’t make a move, don’t say any words. Understand?” The Lady says to me firmly
I have no choice but to nod and the Lady said “Very good, we talk later”
The Lady straighten her self and face the curtain, I notice the citizen are all in their places.
I see how the big curtains suddenly lift little by little, it excites me somehow.
I held my breath, my heart is beating fast. The curtains are fully up revealing a lot of people sitting there, watching.
I wonder why they are sitting there looking at us until I heard a voice greeting them.
“Greetings ladies and gentlemen, welcome to our show, we are pleased to have all of you here with us. Please enjoy.” A man wearing a red tuxedo and hat says in a booming voice.
I see the citizen’s anticipation; they seem excited about what they are going to witness.
I remember the Lady said to me “just stand there and don’t do and say anything”
I see a man wearing Prince Type of clothing coming into the center
“Thou I shall not forget the pain that inkling in my heart, these wounds that shatter.”
The Prince saying those words when someone came into the scene and mutters a word suddenly. The lady that help me is there, she held into the Prince and look at him.
“No, my Prince your agony shall perish, you shall drink this.” As the Lady give the drink to the Prince, she sings a song
I watch the whole scene unfolds in my very eyes; I didn’t even notice the time passes and my tears are falling as it ends.
I felt a hand in my cheek that wipes my tears, I look at the Lady and I’m surprised that the Lady is near without me noticing.
“The show is over, I see you been caught by the scenes.” the Lady smiles
I nod and smile back, I see the look at the crowd of people in front of us applauding.
The man who wears red tuxedo takes off his hat and bows in the crowd as we all hold our hands together and bow altogether.
The crowd is happy and cheering. I see the big curtain coming down.
When the curtain entirely covers us; the Lady looks at me and holds me in my shoulder.
“Who are you?” The Lady asks.
“I’m Princess Mia” I answer honestly
“Princess, sure you are” The Lady laughs,
“How old are you?” The Lady asks once again
“I’m 17 years old” I answer once again.
“I see; where your parents are?” The Lady keeps asking questions.
“In my Kingdom, Querencia Kingdom” I answer once again.
“I don’t understand little Miss; I mean Princess but I don’t know where is that place, I never heard of that” The Lady's face is worrisome.
“It’s okay Lady I can find my way. May I ask where I am?” I’m curious.
“You’re in Atracia City” the Lady answers
“Atracia City, I never heard of this place” I answer.
“Maybe because you never been out from your home Princess, you know I can tour you around the City if you wanted too since I don’t have anything to do now.” the Lady smile to me
I feel lighthearted for Lady's presence. I smile at her and nod; somehow deep in my heart, I wanted to know what is Atracia City.
“Wait for me here, I will change my clothes,” The Lady said,
“Don’t go anywhere” she reminds me.
I see the Lady change her clothes in a strange type I never have seen before but that type of clothing seems light and it’s easy to move in it.
The people who act in the show change their clothes too, they all wearing the type of clothing that unfamiliar to me.
The Lady smiles to me and says “Let’s go” she held my hand
The Lady takes me with her, I walk with her and that moment I know I’m different.
I’m in a strange place I have never been to before, I’m astounded in all of the things I see for the first time, things we never had in our Kingdom.
We stop walking as the Lady leans in and face me,
“You know Princess I don’t know what kind of parents you have for not allowing you to go outside and let you wear those kinds of clothes, those clothes are kind of outdated.’ The Lady said.
“Let’s go buy you some normal clothes” The Lady stands up as she leads me in a room made of glass where all the clothes hang for display, it is like a big closet where everyone can walk through it and gets clothes.
The Lady keeps on scanning the clothes until she found some she wanted; the Lady pull it out, inspect the clothes while she is trying to know if it fits me by putting the clothes in front of me.
The Lady gets three clothes for me, she told me to wear it.
I never try that kind of clothes before; it might be hard for me to try it.
I don’t know how to tell the Lady I don’t know-how; the Lady pushes me to the dresser and I can’t help but figure it out.
I saw a lot of people outside wear those clothes so I know what it looks like and how am I suppose to wear them.
Taking off my clothes is hard without someone helping me.
In our Kingdom, I had servants who do those things for me.
I know I can’t rely on them every single time. I try to remove my dress.
It takes much time and after I keep on trying I succeed.
I wear the clothes the Lady bought me and I get out of the dresser sweaty.
The Lady surprised reaction when she sees me sweaty,
“What happens to you?” The Lady is concerned.
“It’s hard to wear the clothes, I’m not used to it” I explain.
“Okay, you should have called me so I can help you.” The Lady said.
“It’s okay Lady, did I fit it right?” I’m curious.
“Yes, you do” The Lady smile.
“Something is lacking, she points my feet which is bare-feet.
“Oh’ I’m sorry I forgot to put on my shoes” I answer unconsciously
“No, I mean you need shoes,” The Lady said.
The Lady gets off again as I see her on the shelves of shoes that are again not familiar to me.
I came near her and look closely into the shoes she is picking.
“What is that?” I ask innocently
“Rubber shoes” The Lady answer briefly.
I look to it “It is beautiful” I blurted out.
“Do you have anything you particularly like?” The Lady asks
I hold the pink sparkling one which made her laugh.
“Oh I see that is cute, it fits you.”
The Lady gets the rubber shoes and lets me try it in an instant.
My heart lifts with happiness as the shoes fit perfectly on me.
“Go on, walk with it” The Lady suggests to me.
I do as she says, I’m glad that I do. I feel comfortable wearing those shoes.
I can run, skip, and walk fast because of it.
I feel the shoes itself gives me superpowers.
It made me feel that way, the Lady smile at me as she watches me
“You like it, it’s obvious” she laughs
She gets a paper in her bag and gives it to the woman in the store.
“What are you doing?” I’m wondering
“I’m paying” The Lady answers.
“Wasn’t it for free?” I ask curiously.
“No it wasn’t, in this world, you pay for everything.” The lady answers briefly.
At that moment I feel I Princess Mia has a lot I didn’t know about this World, Atracia City.
All this information flooding my head makes me feel unusual but I touch my chest, I feel my heart is racing in excitement for wanting to know more about this World.
