Querencia World Book 2: The Princess that Tamed the Villain

Authors Note: Important  This is the second book of my story "My Unexpected King", this story is a sequel and tackles the untold stories of Princess Mia and Ruininki that is not focused and highlighted in Book 1 to avoid further confusion about the events and characters. I highly advise reading "My Unexpected King (Book1)" but you can risk reading this first and then Book 1 just to clear up the confusion. It depends on your choices. Enjoy reading! *************************************************************************************************************** I’m Princess Mia of Querencia Kingdom, in younger days I know I have the curse, the other is gifted, one will carry the gift and the other will harbor the curse.   Were sixteen years old when I and my twin Princess Siana discover the Passage;   “Siana” I shout   I remember she is out again spending her time collecting flowers, sitting in the fields, and making a crown. I’m different I spent time discovering Querencia; I go to the forest, spent time in the stream, try to catch fish. Today is a specifically different day when I come back from fishing, Siana is not in her usual spot to make her flower crown and hum her songs.   I look around and see her talking to a stranger, I immediately raise my guard. My twin is kind and naive, she never doubts anybody around her as long as they act nice. I know between the two of us, I’ am more skeptical. I hide in bushes, try to listen in their conversation but what surprise me is when the stranger man speaks and asks me to goes out.   “Come out now, Princess Mia,” he said in a manly voice.   It surprises me that he knows my name but still I come out; I look fiercely to the strange man as if my gaze can cut like daggers.   “Calm down Princess, I’m Arruis the Guardian of the Passage” he introduces himself.   “Guardian,” I blurted out in a questioning tone     “He is the Guardian of the Passage, remember the myth that is told by the people; Mia it is not a myth, the Passage to the Other World is real, we are the Gifted that can cross the Passage and goes to the other World. The Atracia City is real Mia” Siana's voice is cheerful; I have never heard her sounds so lively and excited.   I know about the myth and the stories that pass to the mouth of the Elders. I know sooner we will know who can see the Passage, and we will eventually find out about the Gifted. Arruis leads us to the place where we can see the Passage.   The Passage is beautiful; it is a circulating motion of beautiful vibrant colors, like dancing colors. I held my hand up high, it is transparent, can pass through my hands. I can’t help but smile.   I look at my twin sister and she is doing the same, she smiles to me brightly. Our eyes crystal in brightness as the vibrant waves reflected in our eyes. We both fond of experiencing it in our very eye the dancing colorful waves, the Passage.   Meeting Arruis and seeing the Passage, change our life. I’m the type who takes things seriously, they said we are the Gifted and we are now responsible for taking care of the balance of both Worlds. I wanted to be a good Gifted and know what can I do to make both World stabilize and both Worlds maintain our peace.   Arruis said to us, we need to train physically, knowing makes me excited; fighting is one of the things I like to try.   We are given a sword but to my dismay, it is not real, I sigh as Arruis notice,   “What is the matter, Princess Mia?” Arruis asked concerned   “You said we need to train so why should we use a fake sword and not the real one” I complained   “Don’t worry, in the meantime, you will use that sword but later you as you become better each day, you will change and use a real sword,” Arruis explained   “Okay” I replied bluntly   The practice fight is in between me and my twin sister who bores me, Siana is weak, and she can’t even lift the fake sword by her arms.   I look at her not amuse, I even yawn while waiting for her to be able to lift her fake sword.   I shake my head and look at her hopelessly. Timepass by as we become lovely young adult Princesses   Between the two of us, I’m fit for fighting and physical activities. I become better in fighting, my twin sister Siana loses in fight practice every time we face each other.   Siana, my twin sister is meant for singing, taking care of sick people of the Kingdom, the typical things that the Princess would do.   Once Arruis is training us, I sway the sword and didn’t control my strength, she flew far away. I quickly come to her   “Siana, you okay,” I asked  concerned   “Yes, I’ am” she quickly gets up and dusts herself,   I offer my hand for her to get up, she smiles at me.   I and Siana are identical twins but there is something distinct about our features, Siana has blonde hair which she gets from our mother Queen Rianne while I have raven hair which I get from our father King Omar Dion Conielle. Our eyes also have different colors; Siana's eye color is ocean blue while mine is dark gray. We may have the same face but we have a different vibe. I’ am different I’ am the Princess of Querencia, strong, reliable, good in fights, and the one that can protect our Kingdom.   Siana can’t even protect herself; she needs someone like me to protect her. I consider myself an older sister of her and someone who looks after her.   I have the feeling that something is lacking in our Kingdom, it is a descendant of Queen for generation, I don’t get where the idea that our Kingdom is weak and we need Kings from other Kingdom to make our Kingdom strong.   I have an urge within me to kill that narrative and prove that I’ am as the Princess of Querencia is capable of ruling the Kingdom on my own without the help of any King who comes from other Kingdom.   The difference between me and Siana is I’m itching to know the history of Queens before me, knowing that another World existing like us and we have the Gift to pass through it.   One time I and Siana talk about it when we found out about the Passage;   “Siana do you ever wonder why it is us and only us that can cross the Passage’ I’m curious    Siana ponder first before answering  “Well, Arruis said it is because we were the Gifted something like were the chosen”    “We are the chosen by whom?” I ask bewildered   “I don’t know but Arruis said it is in our blood as Royals” Siana voice is soft   “So we are privileged because we are born as Royals” I blurted out   “I don’t think that is privileged, I think it is more of a responsibility because we cross the Passage and also maintain the stability of both Worlds like a duty for us” Siana explains   “Yeah, you’re right but what if we're not the only one can pass through the Passage, don’t you think that will be great” I begin to think of possibilities.   “What would be great about it?” Siana startled.   “The exchange of knowledge and riches, both Worlds could gain from one another” I explains   “That would be good but do think it will be as simple as that?” Siana look at me quizzically   “What do you mean?” I'm confused either   “I think Gifted are there for a reason if all can travel in the Passage, what is the guarantee the other World would accept us and understand our way of living.” Siana trying hard to give her views and not offend me.   “That is why we need to learn their ways and so we can act like them when we're there” I suggest   “I hope it’s easy as it sounds Mia” Siana shrugs her shoulders   “You think a lot, Siana” I commented   “We better aim for better things for our Kingdom and the other World” I don't want to drop the topic even if Siana seems not in the mood to talk about it.   “I’m with you with that but there are things meant to be that way” Siana's voice is soft, trying to pinpoint her opinion nicely.   “You know how much I hate unfairness Siana; all the benefits the Royal family and the Elder’s has for I want to let our citizen experience what we have as well,” I said bitterly   “Mia” Siana looks shocked, “how can you say that! The Royal family is very generous to our citizens and crossing the Passage might be dangerous for them, we don’t know what is there.” Siana voice trembles as she explains   “We should be the one to find out what is there, we should cross the Passage Siana and see the other World” I convince Siana   “But Arruis say that we should wait till we dare to cross it” Siana's voice weakens   “When will you have the courage Siana, you are always afraid” I dared my twin sister   I notice Siana lower her head, she is avoiding my eyes, I should stop pushing the topic; as her twin, I still feel for her, her pain is my pain too, her worries are my worries too. I feel sorry for Siana, she has anxiety and fear.   I hug her and say “I’m sorry”   One time our mother, Queen Rianne pays a visit to the Kingdom’s Elder’s I wanted to come but my mother told me the Elder’s prohibited the Gifted to come to the Elder’s house but still I have ways to go.   I wonder why our mother can go to the Elder’s house and not us, she is gifted before the two of us, and I don’t understand how that is different.   I sneak in and try not to be noticed, I’m good at finding a good hiding place, and I overheard what my mother and the Elder’s discussion.   “How’s your twin Queen Rianne?” one of the Elder’s asks “They are fine and healthy” My mother answer briefly but not smiling   “You know that is not what we wanted to know” one of Elder’s voice sounds irritated   “You mean the curse?” My mother voice is stern   “Yes, who is the gifted and the curse one? You are their mother you know” one of the Elders directly asks   “None of them are curse” My mother answered in a firm voice   “You know it is meant to happen, there is only one gifted in your twins. One harbors the light energy and the one harbor the dark.” One of the Elders reminded my mother   “Stop saying that one of my daughters is cursed” My mother yells   “It is not only said by us, but it is also the prophecy that when a twin born in the Royal family one will inherit the gift and the one is the curse, their own heart will reveal it, and their energy will show it. You are gifted and still can see the energy; you can see the energy of your daughters. Tell us, who is the curse one?” one of the elders madly yells to my mother to remind her not to disrespect them.   I gasped, I cover my mouth, I’m scared but I’m glad that nobody hears me.   “I told you I’ am the only one who is capable of seeing the energy, you relay to me to know who is the curse one and I’m telling you the truth no one in my daughter is cursed.” The Queen raised her voice and finally gets up   “Now if you may excuse me, I have a Kingdom to take care of” My mother has the finality in her tone. I heard the door is open and I think my mother went out but to my surprise, someone is standing in front of me, I close my eyes.   I’m scared that the Elder’s may punish me in entering the Elder’s house, I felt the soft touch on my shoulder, and it’s delicate. I forcedly open my eyes and see my mother standing in front of me.   She places her index finger in her lips telling me to be quiet, I nod to her.   My mother pulls up her big dress and asks me to come in there, I immediately follow her command.   I know it will be hard for my mother to walk now that I’m there but I try my best not to let my mother be caught by the Elders I skillfully follow my mother as she walks.   My mother finally stops walking, I can finally breathe as she held her dress up to set me free.   I’m catching air and breathing hard, I caught my mother's piercing look.   “What got in you? Why do you go there?” my mother is in range and angry at me.   I can’t help but bow my head and feel sorry “Mother, I’m just curious why we are prohibited in that place. I just wanted to see the Elder’s house that’s all.
