Chapter 6

“I thought you said you are getting married to a multi-millionaire and will not act again?” she asked very happy about my downfall, and yes I remembered her. When the original Jennifer was still an actress she used to be the receptionist around here. “Awn honey you are still a receptionist, I thought you would have become a huge movie star by now,” I said with a sad tone but it did not match the smug look on my face. “Who are you here to see?” she asked, her smug smile morphing into a frown. “I am here to see Ramona” I replied. “Hmm your old manager?” she laughed out loud. “Don't tell me you want to become an actress again?” she asked as she laughed mockingly. “I am here to see Ramona” I repeated again with a do not mess with me look on my face and she calmed down. “Do you have an appointment?” she asked and Amelia who stood beside me immediately looked nervous, because we forgot to make an appointment. But that was not a problem for me with my hacking skills. “Of course,” I said with a fake smile and she immediately started searching on her system while I started typing away on my phone, just in time for her to press the enter button. “Oh you have an appointment for 10 am,” she said in a monotone voice and I simply nodded. “Go ahead, you are quite familiar with this place so there should be no need for my directions” Using my memory I made my way up to Ramona’s office using the elevator while Amelia waited for me at the reception. Once I got to her office I went in. “Who is that can you not knock?” Ramona asked angrily, she was middle-aged with dark brown wrinkles on her forehead. She had been working at times entertainment agency for more than ten years yet she was still in this old cramped office. “It's me, Jenna,” I said unapologetically as I took my seat, I guess I still had my princess attitude from the Hidden Valley. “Why the hell did you come back here?” she asked as she typed away on her computer not even paying any attention to me. “Of course, I want to renew my contract,” I said as I crossed my legs in a carefree manner. “Jenna you don't just get to walk in and out of this agency like you own the place, okay? You had so much potential back then and what did you do you just left me, at the peak of my career also, and now you think you can just waltz back into my life?” she suddenly stood up, banging her hands on her desk in anger. I felt bad, for both Romona and myself, sigh, Romona was abandoned by a rising artist, and I entered into the wrongdoer's body and now I have to take all the blame for her. “I am sorry okay, I have realized my mistake, that is why I want to come back” I replied also standing up, I did not like the feeling of somebody looking down on me. “Well I am sorry Jennifer, even if I want to accept you back, the company would not even look in your direction, I don't think any company would be willing to sign you” she sighed as she sat back in her seat. “Why is that?” I asked. “That's because you have been canceled okay, you have been canceled by the Stirling family, apparently you offended them and now they do not want you to be able to go back to the entertainment industry, I am sorry but there is nothing I can do” she turned her face away. And I was filled with rage, how dare those people? Who did they think they were to meddle in my life? Before I did not take the whole acting thing seriously, but now I was filled with rage. “Okay, your conditions in this company do not seem good anyways, why don't you quit and come work for me, I can start my own entertainment agency” Yes I could make one that could rival the stirlings and make them bankrupt. “It does not work like that Jennifer, first of all, my contract with this company has not expired, and secondly even if you start your own company it would be swallowed up within minutes, you do not have a backer, the world of business is tough, even if you want to act on your own, the Stirlings have blocked all your chances to bag any big role, I suggest you just give up,” she said as she went back to her business. Without even replying to her I walked her out of her office, I was going to confront those stupid Stirling, who did they think they were, maybe when I give one of them an incurable illness, the rest would learn to fear me. I had to get my prestige back as the miracle doctor. As I came down from the elevator I saw Amelia who asked me how it went but I just shook my head and we started to walk out together. And then I saw him, in a navy blue tuxedo, his dark brown hair gelled perfectly to the side, an air of nonchalance and ruthlessness around him that made me shiver. Of course I knew him, he was Adrien Lockwood, at just the age of thirty he is the successful CEO of the Lockwood Industry, the top leading industry in the world. His company dabbled in almost every business there is, he had five-star hotels, he manufactures cars, televisions, phones, and other electronic devices, he also has an entertainment agency, that was the best there is, it only signed very talented peopled and top actors and actresses. And a very well-known fact about him, he was very very ruthless. I knew him from the hidden valley, he visited once with the request for me to treat his chronically ill grandmother for a very large price, of course, I was going to agree, but Rio ruined everything, he came in and rejected Adrien's offer and banning Adrien from the Hidden Valley. When I asked Rio why he rejected Adrien, his reason was that Adrien looked at me more than once, and he hated it when men looked at me multiple times. I should have realized how crazy Rio was at that time, but I just excused him thinking that he was being overprotective. I wonder how Adrien's grandmother is doing now. He seemed to be also coming out of the Times entertainment company, I wondered who he came to see. After I came to my senses, I quickly dragged Amelia whose legs seemed to be frozen all the way to my car and I drove off. “Oh my gosh Jenna that was Adrien Lockwood, I mean THE Adrien Lockwood!” she shouted excitedly. “I saw Amelia, I am not blind,” I said as I continued driving. “Don't tell me you are not excited even a little bit, I mean it is the Adrien Lockwood” “Well I am not, now quite before we get into a car accident,” I said. I looked at the rare view mirror of my car to see his car driving behind me together with his convoy, but I did not think much about it, maybe he was just going the same way as I was. I sighed in frustration due to the sudden roadblock. “Oh freak, just a way to make my day better,” I said in frustration. My attention was quickly drawn elsewhere as I saw people gathered around an elderly-looking person asking for medical assistance. It was my time to shine and regain my title back, I guess I would start from the roadside. I turned off my car and ran towards the crowd.
