Surprise?

~ Essence POV ~ The rogue grabbed me by my hair and after dragging me in front of his people, he sniffed my neck with a smile on his face. Amara's amber eyes were fixed on me. Her ash-gray hair makes her stand out from other she-wolves. I always wanted to become someone like her and whenever I compared myself to her, I hated myself a little. She was the perfect queen for the werewolves. She was royalty by birth and, unlike me, she was loved by everyone, or so I thought. Amara was a Lycan princess, but unlike other Lycans, she was quite fragile and that's what made her an easy target. Being weak was not an option in the werewolf clan, so this girl suffered until her last day. I, on the other hand, was used to their hatred. "What is the princess doing here? Are you out here for a walk?" The guy pulled back my hair while he brought his face closer to mine. "Are you fine? We will soon get out of here, so you don't need to be scared." I said to Amara and my words not only shocked her, but also the others. The rogues started to laugh and the one who was grabbing my hair, turned me to face him and after that, he slapped me hard and, as I lost my balance, I fell on the ground, "How dare you ignore my words? Do you think you are above us just because you belong to the royal family? Do you think we are vermin?" None of them were aware that, to show my family my worth, I trained every day until my eighteenth birthday. I wanted to be strong for their sake. Some of the teachers even praised me, as even though I didn't awaken my powers, I was better than my peers. After the revelation of my reality, I became a thorn in my parents' eyes, so I did my best to live in hiding. After I stopped training my body, I soon became a weak target for others. I let those people torment me, as I thought that only in that way I could again get the attention of my so-called family, but I was wrong. Reality was indeed too harsh and I was quite young to understand anything. They never really cared if I was alive or dead after finding out the truth. "Yes, you are right. People like you are nothing, but vermin. Oh, it has nothing to do with you being rogues. It's just that when a bunch of cowards attack a single person… now isn't that unfair." I got up from the ground and after dusting off my clothes, I turned to look at him and before he could slap me again, I grabbed him by his arm and I then threw him over my shoulder. The guy was gazing at me with widened eyes while he was lying on the ground and before he could get up, I placed my foot over his chest with a smirk on my face, "They call me a crazy princess for a reason." I glared at the people who were pinning Amara's hands above her head. "Her… her eyes… I didn't accept this work to lose my life. I told you not to mess with such influential people, but you didn't listen to me. I am out of this." One of the guys dashed towards the opposite direction, but there were still a few of them who thought that they could take me down if they attacked me. "I can't believe that I could see a bunch of rogues working together. You do look like a pack." I commented and they all simply growled at me. I know that rogues don't like it when someone calls them a pack and they might even kill that person in their rage, but I need to see how far they could go for someone like Ryan. They glanced at each other after gazing into my eyes and whenever I gaze at someone, that guy immediately turns to look in some other direction. They are doing all of this just to avoid my gaze. The sun is setting and in a few hours the party will begin and, in that party, I will also meet my first husband and also the dragon-blooded Lycan king. One of the rogues tried to kick me, but I wrapped my arms around myself. I yelled loudly whilst I tightly closed my eyes, "Stop!" I am not sure what happened, but when I opened my eyes again, I found that the guy was not able to move his body freely. I removed my feet from the chest of the other rogue and after I walked towards Amara, I grabbed the guy by his throat who was holding Amara down on the ground. I punched him hard across his face. I hissed in pain as my knuckles got bruised while punching him. The guy wanted to transform into his wolf form, but he failed to shift, which made him and the others gasp in shock. Is this happening because of me? No, how am I capable of doing things? I mean, I have yet to transform into my wolf form, so how am I going to have such amazing powers? "Should I entertain you a little more?" I asked them in a loud voice and they all simply glared at me. I helped Amara to get up from the ground and when I wiped the blood from the side of her mouth, she only looked straight into my eyes without saying anything. "You… Why did you help me out? Do you somehow know me?" Amara asked me something that brought a smile to my face. "Maybe I know you, maybe I don't. Freedom always comes with a price, Princess." I replied to her calmly and she only furrowed her brows in confusion. I gave her the handkerchief that I was holding. I could hear some unfamiliar footsteps and, judging by the expression of Amara… I could tell that the king of the north was heading towards our direction, but I couldn't meet him there. That man is quite dangerous and he would easily find out that I was lying about taking a stroll into the woods and I approached Amara with a motive in my head. If he thought that I was somehow involved in all of this, then he would surely strangle me to death. I need to get out of here before he gets here. I turned to take my leave, but Amara stopped me from behind, "We will meet again at your party, princess Essence." So, she does know me. "Make sure to ask your brother to get rid of each one of them." I gazed at her one last time and after that, I dashed towards the other direction, as I was still not confident enough to face that guy. After running for a while, I heard a familiar voice and that was enough to bring goosebumps all over my body, "Wait for me at the party, Princess. Oh, and don't forget that your first dance belongs only to me." What was that? Why is he behaving so differently than his past self? I do need him, but I can't carelessly get closer to someone like him. After entering the main gate of the palace, I sighed in relief. My knuckles were bruised, so I kept my hands in my jeans pockets. I don't want anyone to find out about what I did in the woods. If that man came to today's party, then I somehow would need to shut him up before he could tell anything to that so-called family of mine. Before I could go upstairs, someone grabbed my wrist from behind and when I turned around, my eyes met with the green ones. He was looking quite furious and when he pulled me closer to him, I placed my hand on his chest to create some distance between us. What exactly is this guy doing? We are still in the main hall. The truth about my identity is still not out, so in the eyes of others we are still siblings. "Have you somehow lost your mind, Ryan?" I glared at him and he simply pulled back his dirty blonde hair with a smirk on his face. He is surely pissed. Is he here to take out his anger on me, "Why? Why could I not feel it? What did you do, huh?" I don't know what he was talking about and what he could not feel, but to make sure that nobody was paying attention to us, I looked around and the people were busy with the preparations for the party. We were standing behind a pillar, so not many could see us. I really want to stab him at least a thousand times, but to make him suffer, I will have to hold back myself. "Go and get ready. I have prepared a special surprise for you." Ryan whispered to me and when he touched the side of my neck, I clenched my fists to control myself. Surprise? What sort of surprise has he prepared for me? ~ Daeron's POV ~ Where did she go? I clearly heard her voice, but after coming to this place, all I found was the rogues who were pleading with me to forgive them, as they were not aware that they were attacking the sister of the Lycan king. "Are you looking for someone, brother? Oh, after taking care of these bastards… She left. She asked me to tell you to get rid of each one of them else they might create problems for us in the future." Amara was clenching an unfamiliar handkerchief. I glared at the rogues and they started to gasp for air. Some of them even coughed out blood. Zion and Silas were standing by my side and while I was torturing the rogues, one of them suddenly screamed, "It's not our mistake. Someone ordered us to attack the princess." Someone asked them to attack Amara, but who? I don't think that they know much about that person, so keeping them alive would surely not benefit me. They even dared to lay their hands on my sister, so how could I simply let them go, right? I shifted my hand into claws and after that, I started to extract their hearts from their chest cavities one by one. Being a Lycan, I don't need to transform into my complete wolf form like those werewolves. "Who helped you out, Amara?" I asked her as I could still smell her faint scent. "The princess of the Westross, princess Essence. You don't know how cool she looked when she took care of those rogues." Amara smiled and I could tell that she was quite impressed by that werewolf princess. If she fled from here after hearing my footsteps, then that means she is trying to avoid me. The princess didn't awaken her powers, but her sensing abilities are quite impressive. Should I test it out? "Wait for me at the party, Princess. Oh, and don't forget that your first dance belongs only to me." I asserted in a low voice while I took the handkerchief from my sister. I wiped the blood that was covering my hands on that handkerchief, but my sister got angry with me just because I ruined a handkerchief that the princess of the werewolves gave her. "Now, don't pout like a little child. I will ask someone in the palace to wash it and give it back to you, alright? To make up for my mistake, I am ready to take you to that party. Don't you want to go and meet that princess?" I gazed at her and instead of replying to me, she crushed the hearts of the rogues under her foot. She might be fragile, but my sister surely loves to play with the blood of others. "That girl was perfect for the north, brother. She should not be rotting here. Let's go and meet her at the party. I want you to prepare a gift worthy of someone brave like her. You need to do your best if you want to impress someone like her." Amara's face lightened up in excitement and I could tell that there must be something sinister going inside that head of hers. Well, I even want to meet that girl now. This is certainly going to be interesting. Let's see how she will hide from me at her own party?
