Regrets

~ Essence POV ~ "Tsk, can't you behave like royalty? You don't even get up on time. You should be thanking me that I am even looking after someone like you. What? Why are you glaring at me? Where are your manners princess?" The omega maid of mine clicked her tongue in annoyance while she threw the face towel on my face after throwing the bowl of icy cold water on me. She was the same maid who always made me do her work and not only that, she even dared to steal from me and when she found that I was a fake, she started to treat me more badly than before. Her aura is somewhat red and I could tell that if she gets a chance then she will not think twice before dealing with me. Was I too lenient? Nah, I was just so scared that her words might become true about me being the fake princess, so I let her treat me however she wanted and, in a way, I allowed her to crush me, but not anymore. I might be a fake, but I am still a princess. I got out of bed and before she could yell at me again, I slapped her hard across her face. She was so stunned by my sudden action that she simply gazed at me for a few seconds without saying a word. "How… How dare you slap me, princess? Did you forget that beside me you don't have anyone in this palace?" She stuttered while she placed her hand on her left cheek. "Who am I, Suzy?" I asked her after sitting on the couch. I glanced at the white ceiling and the beautiful pictures that were hung on the wall. At least when they thought I was their daughter they gave me a decent bedroom to stay in, but after finding out the truth, they threw me in that cellar. "What? Have you lost your memories? Is this why you are behaving so differently? You are the princess of the Westross and the daughter of the Alpha King Evan and queen Olivia." She replied to me angrily and she was going to raise her hands on me, so I simply grabbed her wrist and after getting up from the couch, I twisted her hand behind her back. "Argh! Leave… leave me or else I will complain about you to Prince Ryan." She dared to threaten me with that guy's name. She was aware how much Ryan loathed my existence, but she didn't know anything about that bastard. She believes that one day Ryan will make her the next queen. I seriously don't want to waste my breath on someone like her. "Do whatever you want, alright? As you said, I am the princess of the Westross and no matter how much people don't like me, it doesn't change the fact that I am above you and them. You think my father will let you go after finding out how you are treating me? Are you not afraid of losing your neck?" I whispered to her and when she failed to get herself freed from my grasp, she was able to figure out that I am nothing like my past self and that she could no longer mess with me. Today is the day when things went downhill for me. It's still morning, so I believe I still have some time left. No matter what I do, I can't escape this place. I can't let the past repeat itself. If I am not wrong, then Ryan is going to meet Amara in the woods today for the first time and, if I remember it correctly, then Amara told me how that cowardly Ryan protected her from the rogues who tried to attack her when she was lost in the dark forest. No, it can't simply be a coincidence. That bastard must have planned out everything beforehand. Why would the rogues suddenly attack the Lycan princess? Well, I think I will have to go into the woods to find out about it. "Ahh! You are hurting me, princess." Suzy screamed in pain, so I finally let her go. My finger impressions were clearly visible on her wrist. Did I have that much strength in my last life? Nah, I don't think so. "I know that you are close to Prince Ryan, so if you don't want to lose him, then make sure he doesn't go outside today or someone might snatch him from you." I said to her before jumping out of the window. This is the first time that I did something like this and, trust me, I enjoyed it. All my life they told me to behave like a princess, but now I am tired of pretending. I still haven't awakened my powers, but for some reason, I feel like I could do anything. It's a good thing that the Alpha King never stationed guards anywhere around my room. Nobody can stop me now. My past life was filled with nothing, but regrets. Not anymore. I am going to make sure that in this life their lives are not only filled with pain, but also regrets. I dashed into the woods and for some reason I was enjoying the wind that I was feeling in my face and the fresh air that surrounded me. I will have to find Amara. I don't think that Suzy will be able to stop Ryan for too long and that guy is not stupid to fall for a maid's trick. "Stay away from me!" I heard a familiar voice and when my gaze fell on the girl, a smile appeared on my face. Finally, I will be able to make up for the past. They were touching Amara and when she resisted, they slapped her hard. Her lips were split and blood was oozing out from the side of her mouth. They then pushed her down on the ground and I clenched my fists when I saw how Amara was struggling. I failed to protect her once, but this time I won't let anyone hurt her in any way. 'Don't think about anything or anyone. Just destroy everything.' I heard a strange voice inside my head and before I could take care of them, someone stood behind me. "Look who we have here. If I hadn't noticed your sapphire eyes, then I would have failed to recognize you. The useless princess of the werewolves. Are you here to entertain us?" One of the rogues kept his hands on my shoulder and when I turned to look at him, he was smirking while gazing at me. Entertain them? Well, why not? Let's entertain them to the point where they will beg me to stop entertaining them. ~ Daeron's POV ~ "Help! No!" I again heard the same screams of the woman, but I was not able to see her face clearly. Everytime I try to sleep, I hear her plea to help her. I really want to sleep, but the problem is I can't. All of this is just meaningless. The scented candles that my grandmother gifted me didn't help me much. The more I hear the voice of that woman, the more restless I become. Forget it! While I was trying to stop myself from thinking about that woman, I felt someone's hand on my chest. Not again. I am seriously tired of their useless attempts. I opened my eyes and when I looked at my side, I saw some strange woman lying by my side on my bed. I sighed in frustration and the woman only smiled at me after pressing her body against mine. When is my grandmother going to stop sending these women to my bedchamber? To get an heir is she ready to accept any woman as the queen of the Lycans? I pushed the girl away and after fastening my robe, I got out of bed. That damn woman, without wasting a second, embraced me from behind without thinking of the consequences. "Have you not heard anything about the berserk Lycan king of the North, woman? There are many stories about me out there and some of them are even true. Either you are too brave or you are simply stupid to think that someone like you could handle me. You are not even my mate, so how dare you put your hands on me!" I turned to look into her eyes and when I grabbed her wrist, she hissed in pain. That's what I was talking about. Women like her are so weak and yet they think that they could tame someone like me with their bodies. "So, what? All I need is to give birth to your child and then everything will belong to me. I will become the queen of the Lycans. It's a position that everyone desires, my king. It's not like you are going to find your mate. It's already been so many years. How long are you going to wait for someone who doesn't even exist?" The woman tried to embrace me again, but this time I managed to grab her by her throat. When I applied a little pressure, she gasped for air. I pushed her back on the wall and before I could take her life, my Beta, Zion, stopped me, "She is not worth it, your majesty." Well, just like those werewolves, the Lycan clans also have Lycan Beta and Lycan omega. The only difference is that even our omegas are stronger than most of their Betas. There are many she-wolves who choose Lycans as their mates rather than accepting those weaklings. "Throw her out and I don't want to ever see her face. Forget about giving birth to my child, I can't even stand that disgusting scent of yours and don't you dare to ever talk about my mate." I ordered Zion and he simply bowed his head before dragging out that girl from my bedroom. My head is seriously killing me. When is this pain going to stop? "I see that you still haven't touched your food or the girl that I sent for you, Daeron. When are you going to stop being so stubborn? You know I am doing all of this because of you, right? Your father left everything to you when you were just sixteen. Your uncle and aunt are doing everything in their power to spread rumors about your illness." There is only one person in the North who could take my name and that's my grandmother, the only queen who ruled over the Lycans in her time. I don't want to hear a lecture about the importance of food and giving birth to an heir again. I need to change the topic before grandmother tries to find someone else for me. "Where is Amara? She got angry with me just because I said to her that we were not going to attend the party of that treacherous werewolf king. She wanted to meet that powerless princess. I have heard that she is a spoiled princess and I don't want my sister to meet with someone like her." I told everything to my grandmother that was going inside my head and how that sly bastard king was trying to use his daughter to gain my attention. I have never met that princess, but I have heard from others how she uses her position to bully others. "But I have heard that she is a really beautiful girl. When are you going to stop pushing people away, huh? Now, don't make that expression that I am boring you. Amara… She had gone out in the woods to calm herself down. I did tell her to take someone with her, but you know how she is, right? It's just a party, Daeron. It's not like Evan will try to throw his daughter at you on her eighteenth birthday." My grandmother picked up the crumbled invitation card that I threw on the floor last night. Grandmother doesn't understand, but I know that Evan Jacob Riven is someone who is not satisfied with his current position. When I was sixteen, he even tried to assassinate me with the help of some rogues, but he was unaware of my true strength, so in the end he had to lower his head in front of me. It's been so many years, but the relationship that we share with the werewolves is not a cordial one. They are jealous of us because we are superior to them and that is something that they can never accept. Even in the arena when they failed to win against us in the fights, they claim that we didn't play fairly. Tsk, what's so special about this damn party? "After your parents left, I did everything to raise you and Amara well, but I am getting old now and I am not stronger like before, Daeron. To stabilize your position, you need a queen who could rule by your side. How long are you going to wait for your true mate? What if she is not strong enough to protect the North?" The worries about my grandmother were not wrong. 'Find her, Daeron. Find her for us.' I heard the voice of my wolf inside my head and I am well aware why he is desperate to find our mate. There might be a possibility that I will have to protect her and I am not certain if she will bring solace to me, but I will have to take this chance or I will really go berserk. "I have something to report to you, your majesty." Zion knocked on the door whilst he kept his head down. I walked out of the room and after asking him to raise his head, I kept my hand on his shoulder, "You don't have to always bow your head in front of me when we are alone, Zion. You are not only my Beta, but also my only friend in this palace. So, what did you want to report to me?" I asserted to him calmly and he simply smiled at me. Why can't he stop being so formal with me? Did those two say something disrespectful to him? "Princess Amara is missing. The guards failed to follow her properly. I believe she mistakenly entered the Westross Kingdom." Zion replied to me and I could feel that he was scared that I might lose my cool. The shadow guards are the best, so how could they lose my sister? Is this the doing of those f*****g werewolves? I am going to freeze them all if anything happens to Amara. "Let's go. We need to go and find her before those little creatures try to do anything with her." I gazed at Zion and after I snapped my fingers, my gamma Silas and the others also joined me. They should better respect the treaty if they don't want to lose their lives. We dashed into the woods and everyone started to search for Amara. I walked a little deeper into the woods and then I suddenly heard a sweet voice that felt kind of familiar to me, "Should I entertain you more?"
