Neil and Kip agreed to eat lunch in the dorm cafeteria. While Kip took the carriage and horses back to the barn, Neil went to the office to sign up with Margie for the breakfast/dinner plan with the option of making a bag lunch. Then he went back to the dorm. As soon as he entered the building and his phone connected to wi-fi, texts and voicemail notifications came in a flurry.
All were from Jordan but one. That was from Neil’s sister, Janet. Jordan’s messages all carried a recurrent theme. Why hadn’t Neil called or texted? Jordan missed him and was worried by his lack of contact. Please let him know Neil was okay.
Neil grimaced. A wave of guilt passed over him. It was re-enforced when he read his sister’s voice to text message.
