Not now, though. He’s in the middle of a debate and he should be paying attention. The Marshal’s Office has a star witness who’s great on the stand. Polite and still informal, likable and funny, he’s got the jury eating out of his hand. The mediator seems a little bit in love with him.
Zach’s client, Lena Wiater, has lost all her bluster and is probably working on accepting her sentence. It doesn’t happen nearly as much as it should, but sometimes there’s nothing money can do. Lena, who was adopted into the Family, knew the risks and can take the would-be verdict calmly.
