Chapter 2Zach arrives home, says goodbye to Aron without kissing him again, something which seems to amuse Aron greatly, and takes a shower. He’s nowhere near ready to leave when his comms begin to chime. Zach chooses to ignore them. He has an idea of what happened and no wish to deal with it.
By the time Zach’s done with the shower, there’s already heavy knocking on his door. He moves to let them in. Even though he’s basically naked, the towel not doing much in the way of hiding anything, he’s too tired to care.
And indeed, his nakedness doesn’t seem to have been noticed. A nameless Services Officer, in the classic Republic-approved identity obscuring field, puts a holodisk on the table and steps back. He doesn’t greet or otherwise interact with Zach, which probably means the officer is
