Chapter 4Forty minutes later, clean and with dinner on the table, Zach lets Aron in. “Wait,” Zach says. “Payment.” “Seriously?” “Payment.” Aron rolls his eyes. “There are two things you have to know. Technology will never be able to provide excellent security because it’s predictable. People will never be able to provide it because they are too unpredictable.” He leans on the threshold. “Sure, people’s behavior can be anticipated or made to follow procedure, and tech can compute a truly complex randomizing algorithm, but my point stands.” Aron’s smile turns sly. “That means that humans plus machines don’t have a chance because they don’t complete each other, they pull in different directions.” That is a rare look into the rabbit’s warren that is Aron’s brain. Zach is thankful for it. H
