Chapter Two

Like a zombie, I walked into the empty house, flinging my backpack on the couch. Today's work and energy really had a toll on me. I'm hungry, tired, and so sleepy. Thinking of my soft bed earlier at school almost had me falling on the floor in the class. I walked into the kitchen to get ice cream when Lily emerged from the kitchen island yelling "boo!!"

"Oh my God!!!!". I screamed, panting while grasping my chest. "For f**k sake Lily...Were u planning on killing me?".

"s**t Ems, you should have seen your face...Omg this is definitely going on my ** reels". She laughed loudly, picking her phone which was placed on the kitchen island. " Don't you dare". My face flushed realizing she had captured it on her phone.

"oh I sure will dare". she playfully swing her phone in her hand while walking out of the Kitchen.

I sighed moving towards the freezer "Why are you home early...don't tell me you skipped class again".

"Duh, I had a free period so I came home".she rolled her eyes.

......." or you skipped class to go on a date with Mike". I stated, giving her a cross look.

'I and Mike are long over. That bastard was wooing my Bestie".She had an irritated look on her face before it dropped and an excited one masked it " Did you see the new guy". her eyes glittered " he's so dripping hot".

My mood drastically dropped at the mention of him. His taunting blue eyes once haunt my head. They seemed so familiar and yet unfamiliar. It was like I had hidden memories with them and definitely not pleasant ones. I shook the feeling off " Yeah I saw him" I shrugged, sounding as nonchalant as I could. I plumped down on the couch hoping we could just change topic.

"He is so handsome. I think I have a crush on him".

"You just met him today, Lily. Its your hormones talking not you". I tried sticking sense inside her thick skinned brain.

" Love at first sight Emma. Love" She emphasized the 'L' word while smiling with dazzling eyes. I would have believed her if I haven't heard this word like 100th times from her.

"That's what you said about your five ex boyfriends".

"I was mistaken...but this time its real. I can feel it hitting my heart". She really looked sincere but I knew better.

"More like lust hitting hard on your chest"I snorted "but seriously the guy is new and you know nothing about him moreover I really don't feel good about him. There's just something about him I can't decipher".

"You always don't feel good about everyone". She waved me off " you are different... I mean in a bad way".

"Ouch"."That hurts but seriously Lily. The feeling is intense this time".

"I warned you about Mike,Carlos,Collins,and that Henry...and I was right. They all ditched you".

" Mike didn't ditch me. I ditched him". she shrugged. Really Lily.?..That not the point.

"Whatever..don't just get involved with the new guy". I said dismissively indicating the conversation to end but she was having non of it.

" You can't tell me what to do..I'm the elder here. Tomorrow I'm gonna walk up to him and talk to him and there is no s**t you can do about it. Watch me ask him out. He definitely can't and wouldn't reject this pretty face". She said confidently, caressing her face.

"Whatever..""go on and date some guy you know nothing about"

" His name is Lucian and he just moved to town. His parents are divorced so he lives with his Mom and he's 19. See? I'm not so clueless about his". she gave me a 'in your face look'

"How did you...."..."oh do I need to ask? I guess you had your errand girl check his file the principal office. You'll be darned the day that old Dean catch both of you".

"Which will never happen".

"Do as you like. Don't just come crying". I resigned to fate, standing up. Lily will never listen to me so waste my time when my warm bed is up there waiting to embrace me.
