Pregnant

358 Words
Queenie obeyed what Wesley said, she packed her stuff and rented a room.   She stayed away from Wesley, hoping that he couldn’t find her, so she wouldn’t need to sign the divorce agreement.   After some time, she realized that she’s pregnant.   She was nauseous and lethargic, but she thought it was from work stress, until 2 lines appeared on the pregnancy test kit.   She’s pregnant… with Wesley’s child.   She was delighted, hoping that this might help get Wesley back to her.   She called Wesley, her voice full of joy, ‘I’m sorry to disturb you, but can we meet for a moment?’   ‘Who’s that, Wesley?’ Queenie heard a voice before Wesley could reply her, and it breaks her heart, but yet she was not going to give up.   So long as she’s pregnant, he won’t leave her.   ‘What is it? You can tell me on the phone.’ He said.   ‘It’s very important, you have to meet me! Or I can go meet you…’ Queenie said desperately.   ‘Oh.’ Wesley said indifferently.   ‘You can decide whether to divorce me after listening to what I have to say.’ Queenie said.   ‘Okay, let’s meet at Café 203 at 6pm.’ Wesley said, curious what this woman has in store for him.   Queenie let out a sigh of relief, thinking she’s one step closer to success. She changed and hailed a cab to the café.   She was early, and waited anxiously for his arrival.   When he came, she was so excited, till she saw him pushing a wheelchair in, it was Rainie, an uninvited guest.   Wesley took care of her so well, as though their world only consists of the two of them.   Queenie didn’t know how to break the news, as it was awkward with the presence of Rainie.   ‘Wesley, I remember that this is your favourite restaurant.’ Rainie said.   ‘Mmhmm.’ He said as he caressed her hair.
