Chapter 5

3555 Words
Azure's POV Mint and Yua walked into the house, together. Mint was wearing Yua's coat, stupid boy for not wearing a jacket before he left. "Church, we need to talk. Azure, so do we. And, you know what? Kai, you can listen to this too because you're going to f*****g forget all of this anyway." Ah s**t. What had happened now? I looked around and everyone looked just as confused. "You know what, no. You can all f*****g listen," he hissed. Ah, he seemed really mad. What had we done now? "Why the f**k did you never tell us?" he demanded, and I was confused. To be honest, there were a lot of things I hadn't told Mint so he would have to be more specific. "You were all going to leave." f**k. That one, that was the one thing I never wanted him to know. "Wait, what?" Church asked, turning around to look at Nether, who didn't look at him. "And why the f**k are the twins still here?" he asked, pointing to the duo who were still tied up and bound. "We haven't gotten time to deal with them," Cedar said, gently. "Yua and I have been gone for an hour. What do you mean?!" he yelled back, but not at Cedar but at me. "Look, Mint," I said, gently and he glared at me. "You never f*****g told us," he seethed. "I was going too. I swear. Tomorrow, actually. But, then Kai said he wanted to forget about all of this. And I thought it wouldn't be fair to you. For you to lose your actual father and then to tell you that you would lose me, someday." "When?!" "We don't know. Lucifer just tells us," Cedar said, softly. "What about the Knights, from time ago? Who stayed for 12 rebirths?" he asked. How in the f**k did he learn about them. "Boy, how do you even know about that?" Feather deadpanned and Mint glared at him. "It doesn't matter! The point is, you are all going to leave one day!" he yelled, looking at all of us. "So, Church. I say we say goodbye and we leave for a while. Y'know." Church looked at Nether, I wondered if he knew I could hear how fast his heart was beating, I mean, we all probably could. It was pounding. Ba-bump. Ba-bump. Ba-bump. "You're going to leave?" he whispered. Nether didn't look at him, he was looking everywhere but at him. Church jumped down from Nether's lap, who was still floating. Ah, Nether looked a little hurt as Church walked to Kai. The two were about to leave but Xavier yelled. "We're still here!" "And we're taking the f*****g twins,'" Kai deadpanned. "No, we haven't-" Ocean said, but Church cut him off. "You don't get to do s**t. You had an hour," he snapped. Church untied the twins and they both rubbed their wrists in pain. They muttered something under their breaths. And then the four of them left. Mint stormed back in, nostrils flaring. He walked into the apartment while the other three stood by the door. "I just realised I never said bye to Kai." He walked over to Kai and hugged him, I watched as his expression softened, almost hurt, well, definitely hurt as Kai stiffened. "I'm sorry you didn't want me," Mint whispered. "Hopefully, you'll get married and be happy and have an actual human kid and not me. You'll get to watch him grow up and hold him as a child. And he won't be a secret." Mint had tears in his eyes. "You were like a father to me. You are my father and I'll always love you." Mint nodded a little before walking back out, the other three had quietly watched the whole thing. Church patted his friend's arm and I think finally the four of them finally left. "Y'all don't even know him. So, you all don't have to say bye. Kai, follow me." Kai very slowly followed after me and I took him back to my room. "Will it hurt?" he asked, after a few minutes of silence. "No," I said and he nodded a little. "But, I'm going to need to touch you." Kai looked hesitant but he nodded, slowly. I took a step forward and nodded a little, mainly to myself. I could do this. This wasn't hard. It wasn't. He would simply forget me and everything we had been through, and Kai. But then I took one step back. "Can I say something, before all of this?" He looked at me warily but then nodded. "I love you. I'm in love with you. I have been in love with you for a long time. You were the person I was talking about before. And I'm sorry I'm a demon and that I lied to you, but I was scared you'd hate me. I was absolutely terrified, you'd see me as a monster. But, it doesn't matter, because to you, all demons are monsters. I'm sorry. I'm dirty. I wasn't enough for you. Be happy Kai. Please, be happy." Kai didn't say anything and I didn't expect him to. So, I took a step forward and I erased his memory, a single tear fell down my cheek and I couldn't wipe it as he fell and I had to catch him. I held him close to me. This was the last time I'd be able to touch him. I inhaled deeply. Oh, everything hurt. I took him out of the apartment and opened a portal, I stepped through and arrived back into his apartment, I laid him down in his bed. I looked at his sleeping figure. He looked so peaceful, he always did when he slept. Fuck, I would miss him. As much as I would hate to admit it, I cried. I was a mess because when Kai would wake up he'd have no memories of me and this was normal. We were demons. I was a demon. Humans were fragile they got old they died. I'd always known that and yes, I missed every single human I'd grown an attachment to, every single day but I never cried for them. Because their lives were to be celebrated. So, why, oh, why, was I crying about Kai? Because he wanted me dead? Because he wasn't dead? I mean he was, wasn't he? Actually no, because he was alive. I'd see him around town, in stores, but he'd have no idea on who I was and I'd say I was fine with that but then we'd all know I was a filthy liar. So, I wiped my tears and I stood over Kai one last time. I stroked his cheek and against my better judgement, I kissed him. It wasn't much, just a faint touch of his lips on mine and then I left. When I got back, all the others were all waiting and I inhaled. It was time to suck it up, we had to find the sins. "Right," I said, walking over to the boards, specifically to the one where we thought any of the sins could be. Yes, we had boards for different things. "They're smart. They know we're looking for them. They know better to run into us-" "Oh, s**t! I see Nether's still hot!" All eyes snapped over to see Lust standing in the doorway, in all his glory. He had a grin on his face and was a weird mix between his human and actual form. He had the red eyes, and the golden skin of his demon form, but his dark hair and ears and the rest were human. "Sloth," he said, looking over at his yes-but-no sister. "You disappoint, the first to be caught." "You're the fool that came here," she deadpanned. She was sitting on the couch, legs on the table. I'd given up on telling her to put her feet down. "Now, now. I'm only here because have you seen Wrath? I haven't heard from him and that's not like him. Also, can we talk about how Feather is still so hot?" "You said Nether before," Cedar said and Lust turned to smile at him. See, Lust was hot, stupidly hot. And he knew it. So, when he smiled . . . Imagine a mix of a few of the older men when they were young, such as Leonardo DiCaprio, Jensen Ackles and possibly a hint of Jeon Jungkook, but that feminine vibe of Jimin and the fae vibe of Hyun-jin. Now imagine the five of them had a child, yes. Now imagine that child to be 100x more gorgeous than humanly possible even with all those genes. Yes. That was 1/10 of Lust's beauty.  "They're both hot. No, scratch that, you're all hot. Does anyone wanna have s*x, you all look like s**t and I know I can make a person happy," he said, waggling his eyebrows. Why couldn't all the sins just come to us? This would make all this so much easier. We wouldn't be in this mess, to begin with. Lust walked into the room and he looked over at the board. "Wow, I see, this is smart. I'm assuming I'm red. You know, love and all, but that could be Wrath because of anger," he said. "No, you're red, Wrath is black," Cedar said, gently. "Oh, I've been here, here, here." He was pointing out every s*x place we thought of every place he could have been, you know, s*x-related. "Okay, so the point is I've been everywhere. Wow, I'm a whore." "I'm assuming you saw the fuss," Nether said. "Oh, yes with my own two eyes. Very believable. But you don't really expect me to believe that you caught her by yourself.  Let me guess, she was lazy so she went to the priest?" "About that," I said looking at him. "He's no longer connected to us. Get the word out. He's forgotten all of this." "How do I know you're not lying?" he asked and I narrowed my eyes. "Listen here, Lust," I seethed. "I just had to erase my best friend's memory. He has no idea who I am and we're strangers. And I wouldn't wish that on my own enemies. So, yes. You're going to f*****g believe me when I say it." "Sheesh, and you say 'best friends'. Yeah, whatever. I'll spread it around. 'Priest and demon no longer boning'." "Hey, knock it off," Sloth hissed at him and he just laughed a little. The four of them were back. They stood at the doorway and my eyes widened. Mint stopped, telling his friends to shut up. He pulled out some handcuffs and handed them to Church. Why the f**k- Oh. Church had done something, I don't know what and how but he was stood next to Lust and he was handcuffed. "Ohh, me likey," Lust said, as he looked at the handcuffs. "But if they are meant to keep me in, they won't." He tried to break them, key word tried. "Oh, they will," Mint said walking in. The twins were standing behind Mint and they almost looked like his bodyguards. They were both fully dressed in black too, so I guess that helped with the effect. Ocean frowned and walked over to where Church and Lust were stood. When Ocean approached, both twins tensed a little and Xavier moved every so casually and put an arm around Mint. He scowled at first, looking up at him and Xavier raised an eyebrow looking down. Mint didn't do anything.  Church, to my surprise, went back to them and not Nether. Now that I thought about it, he hadn't even looked in Nether's direction. "Where the hell did you find these handcuffs?" Ocean asked looking at them. I frowned and walked over, looking at them myself and I knew exactly what these were. Each set of Lucifer's kids had special handcuffs. To detain us, just in case we ever got out of control. Lucifer, himself designed them. "I'm assuming from Hell," Mint deadpanned. "What?" Cedar asked. "We were at my apartment. They were helping me pack up my stuff and then the doorbell rang. There was no one there but there was a box with these in and a note that said. 'Hope this helps. From grandpa." "And get this," Church said pulling the note out. "It's not in English. We don't know what language it is in. Cause Xavier opened the door and he thought Mint was into some kinky s**t and then mint saw it and he read it easily. And we all know he ain't got no family." "Wow, thanks," Mint grumbled. "Oh, not like that. I mean you know. Human family. And so we assumed it was Lucifer and boom. Mint demanded we all come back here. And it turns out we were right. I'm assuming that's uncle Lust." "I've never questioned my sexuality more in my life," Xavier mumbled looking at Lust. Who just smiled. "Oh, that's the biggest lie you've told," Mercy said snickering. "Wait backtrack a minute, did you say Lucifer? As in the Devil?" "Oh, yeah. You probably don't know." "Church!" Mint said, exasperated "No, no. Let me tell you. We all know Mint is a halfie. His human side is that priest. But now because Azure is his figurative dad-" "About that," I said. I mean it was better to tell him to know, rather than him find out later on. "I'm actually your adoptive father. Well for your demon half. It's complicated but go on." "Yeah, because of that, Mint has 3 sets of aunts and uncles. The Seven Deadly Sins as one set. The six Knights of Hell as another set and then Lucifer's actual kids who he f****d for. Three sets. Can't forgive his grandpapa, Lucifer himself." Why did he have to say grandad like that? There was an accent on the papa. The twins eyed each other and shrugged. "We'll take it," Mercy said. "Anyway. Lust is trapped," Ocean said, and he was glaring at Church. "Oh, right, yeah," I said looking at a handcuffed Lust. "We can use him as bait to get Wrath," Cedar said, gently. "Don't be stupid. Wrath doesn't care about me," Lust said, he had a weird tone in his voice. Mercy frowned a little, she'd been looking at the boards and then she snorted. "You have been looking at this the wrong way. Well, you're right about Greed but everyone else no." Ocean walked over to her, grabbing her arm. "You're a human. We're demons. We can figure this -OW!" Ocean had begun but then Mercy drop kicked him, which had sent him flying. Xavier was on Ocean in less than a second, grabbing his collar and having him pushed against the wall. “You f*****g touch my sister again and I’ll f*****g crush you.” I could tell, Ocean was about to use his powers but he stopped and frowned. Xavier left him alone and went and stood beside the kids again.   "My apartment!" I cried. "Yeah, she's trained in about four fighting styles, I wouldn't mess with her," Mint said looking over at Mercy. "For Envy," she said turning the board around which had even more things on it. "Get me a new board." So Cedar portalled one in. "I borrowed it from the primary school. Oh, don't give me that look. I'll return it and they'll never know it was gone." "Okay, for Envy," she said. "Think higher. I'm assuming he’s probably got powers which means, he can do a lot of things humans can't." "You're right," Church said, grinning. "Think bigger," Mercy grumbled. "But narrower," he said. "Exactly!" she yelled. "I need a map of the places where they teleported in." "Well, there are six places where the spike in energy was unnaturally high and that all came in with a 2 hour to and fro period from when the demons came to tell us," Cedar said. He found the board and pushed it over to Church and Mercy. "They were on our side so we can assume, all 7 of the sins came to this side. The side demons roam. Now, whether that was an accident or on purpose is still to be decided." Both of them were quiet for a minute and I tried reading their minds. Mercy's, I got into, but Church I couldn't read his mind. I frowned a little. What? "That's it!" they yelled together and then high fived. Mercy nodded at Church and she circled an area of town. "Here. I think around this area, is where Envy will be." "How?" I asked. "Look at the area around it," she said. "This is the fancier part of town.  Where all the branded things are. Where posh ladies walk around with pearls around their neck to go to the grocery store. Where everything is fancier. Hell, even the bookstores are huge.” "Bold of you to assume they go themselves," Church snickered. "Well, then the park that's here," she said pointing to the park. "Trust me this is where Envy is." "This," Church said, pointing to another part of town. "With this spike, this area is where Greed probably is,"  "We've checked there," Ocean deadpanned. "That's the first place we checked." "Okay, but did you check underneath it?" Mercy said. "Under?" Feather asked. "Why the f**k would we look underneath. Wait, Hell?" "No, not Hell. Do you have the maps for the old train thing? We learned about it in history. We used to have an old underground train thing but it was cut off because it was dangerous. For humans." "Oh, my god. You two are amazing. Why didn't we use you before?" I deadpanned. "Well, Church was always stuck to Nether and you tied the twins up!" Mint yelled back at me and I winced. Okay, fair enough, that was definitely our fault.  "So, what? We try and get the third and fourth sins?" Xavier said. He still had his arm around Mint, who had gotten used to it. "But what about the handcuffs. I doubt Lust wants to help us and we can all really barely trust Sloth. That's only because she's too lazy to snitch. But if we give him a chance, he'll run," Feather said. "Yua?" I frowned a little. The knights and I all looked at one another, even the two Sins froze. "Grab them!" I yelled.  Yua grabbed Mint and Feather, Sloth grabbed Mercy, Nether practically flew to Church and grabbed him, Ocean caught Xavier and I barely managed to get Cedar and Lust as the whole place began to shake. We protected them, it was okay, everything was fine, the trembling continued for a few minutes, I could hear the teenagers panicking and I told them to protect their heads. "Are you okay?" I heard Nether ask Church who nodded, he was a little out of breath and shaking "Oh, f**k. That's not good. Is everyone okay?" I said. Once I heard the ‘we’re fine, we all looked at one another. "What was that?" Mercy asked. "That was a Sin going to the other side of the split and the Earth adjusting to the power balance," Cedar said as he inhaled. "Cosmic balance and all that, right?" Church said and we all nodded. "Well, if a sin has gone to that side, then surely the earth must have spat something out from that side to this side right?" Oh, f**k. He had a point. All eyes were on Lust. "What?" he said as he rolled his eyes. Yua looked down at Feather and he raised an eyebrow. Feather looked like he was about to say something but then didn't. "He's not wrong," I said. "None of us trust Lust." "I want to talk to him. Alone," Mint said, and I raised an eyebrow. "Boy, if you think-" Feather began. Yua was also shaking his head. "No, I'll do it. I'll talk to my only nephew? In private." Mint grabbed Lust by the chains of the handcuffs and he dragged him into my bedroom. "Y'all said you were going to stay away but you didn't even stay away for six hours," Ocean deadpanned. "We're going to get food," Church said. "Mint," Xavier said. "Mercy and I will go get food, Xavier, you stay here with Mint then. That way he's not alone with them." "You do realise we would never hurt him right. He's our nephew," Nether said and Church raised an eyebrow. "I don't trust any of you." "You were perfectly fine sitting on me for the last month and a half," Nether replied "That was before I knew you'd all end up leaving." "No, you shouldn't leave," I began and Church turned to glare at me. "It's too dangerous, we need to figure out what the Earth spat out on this side." "Mercy, come on," Church said and he walked out. Mercy smiled a little and left. "I feel like we've pissed off the kids." "You have," Xavier said, nodding his head. "You're not helping," Nether hissed. "I didn't want to help." "Okay," Mint said, walking back in. "I think Lust is willing to help us. Only, if we go after Wrath first." ~*~
