Chapter 8
Song: SAMAHTA - Professional (feat. Hail Luna)
"Okay why are there so many drug dealers on our land?" Tate growled out in frustration.
"I have no idea but they are dealing some good stuff." Dylan coughed and wiped his noses.
"Please tell me you didn't do that stuff." Tate face palmed.
"What? It's not like it's going to kill me." Dylan let out a bark of laughter.
"No, it just makes you lose control of your beast oh and kills your brain. I think you forgot it has the same effect on us as it has on humans." Tate growled at Dylan and sat back on his leather chair.
"Okay Dylan's an i***t, what's new but we should be getting to the bottom of this. There's an increase of dealers and their coming back with more firepower not to mention that their killing wolves. Three rogues dead. We're lucky they weren't part of our pack but they were still our kind." Edward pressed on.
"I know. We need to start exterminating these vermin." Tate said and looked at Edward.
"When Dylan is back to... himself, go scout out all the locations of popular party spots. Bring someone back alive." Tate order and started looking through the files.
"Okay. What are you going to do?" Dylan asked feeling brave with the powder he had just snorted.
"I am going to look through these. It's no coincidence that they killed the wolves. I think their sending us a message." Tate confessed.
"But it might be. It's been reported as an animal attack." Colt came into the room holding up a news paper.
"People still read that?" Dylan asked out of the blue.
"Yeah and my guess is that the one in charge is going on a little hunting trip. Look at the company name."
Animal attacks leave community in fear as twenty were found mauled to death outside Hazel mere on the beginning of the month week.
Million dollar company Queens corp. has issued a hunt for the animal causing so much destruction.
"We don't want to harm or kill this animal. We just want to move it to a habitat where it won't be disturbed by human activity where it can roam around free and safe. Where we can make sure that our community is safe as well." Rayna Queen CEO and Founder of Queens corp.
Police had other things to say and had pointed out the pattern in the victims.
Is this really an animal attack or some sick person with a vendetta?
"Shit..." Tate groaned. The phone started to ring simultaneously.
"Speak of the devil." Dylan laugher.
"Shut up." Tate silenced him with his command. Even with his intoxication Dylan didn't dare and fight the command.
"Hey Ray..." Tate answered.
"Hey, listen I know you might be busy but I'm in your town for a bit and wanted to know if you wanted to grab dinner tonight?" Rayna's voice emanated from the phone.
"Sure... What are you doing in town?" Tate asked her while everyone listened in.
"Oh just doing some business. Do you have that open space maybe I could check it out before I go?" she asked.
"Sure. Where are you? I could pick you up?" Tate asked and shooed everyone out of his office.
"Yeah, I text you the info. Listen I have to go now. I'll speak you later alright..."
"Sure, bye for now..." Tate said and ended the call. A new giddy feeling set in his stomach.
It was a feeling non like anything else. He might have not known her for very long but he couldn't deny fate. He knew that she was his forever and he already loved her, her smile, her laugh, her intelligence.
He was hooked and she was his drug as ironic as that sounded with his current problem but that was his affection for her. He couldn't wait to start a life with her, to become a doting mate where he could openly express his feelings.
But first he would have to tell her everything starting with what he was. Was he really ready to let the beast out of the bag?
...
"Okay so what do you think?" he asked as they walked through the space. It was just open field and some dirt roads that could be really useful for Rayna.
"Its perfect." Rayna smiled and went closer to him.
"Yeah... so what are you using the space for anyway?" he asked her.
"Just some drop offs and pickups. Our competition has been stealing from us so we need somewhere secure." Rayna grinned but still shivered.
"Are you cold?" he asked.
"A little." Rayna admitted and leaned into him as he wrapped his arms around her.
"Do you want to leave?" he asked disappointed as he wished that they could spend more time together.
"Maybe we could just sit in the car. I don't want to go just yet." Rayna smiled and led him to the car. And as the go comfortable in the leather seats, tension grew like a weed.
"I'm glad you're here..." Rayna whispered and leaned closer, their lips inches apart as their breaths danced in harmony.
"As am I." Tate said and took a chance and placed his lips upon hers. The feeling of her soft lip on his sent him to heaven. His beast practically purred in satisfaction. This woman was his happiness, was his warmth.
Their lips moved in sync, both competing for dominance in a passionate embrace that it would kill the winter with their fire.
Rayna ran her fingers through his hair and gave a tug. A tug that gifted a pleasure filled groan that only encouraged her more.
"I think I might be crazy but I felt shocks..." Rayna said and pulled away a little.
"Oh baby, I feel them too." Tate said with a sexy grin as he knew it was the holy and pressed his lips against hers in an everlasting embrace of passion and love. Both of them thinking the same thing.
'if only this moment could last forever...'
